had dinner there while in queenstown. food was average no great choices been to betterbuffetdinners. food did not have much flavour and even the bread was really hard (looked like it has been sitting there for days). good choice of drinks not overly prices. paying for window seat plus drink does not make any difference as all tables look to the windows. (but maybe good option during busiest time in the season)  
oversall really disapointed with food.

stratosphere was a very lovely lunch! it is abuffetlunch with various options as per photos. the food was well cooked. the staff were very polite and quick to clear the tables which enabled us to get new plates with food on them. the roast chicken and roasted veggies were my favorite out of thebuffetso so so delicious! we grabbed a drink afterwards and sat outside and enjoyed the view and sun, stunning views! i got a deal of juicy dining deals which was two lunches for $116. i would say worth the money to go here, get a gondola ride up and down and intake the beautiful views! go very hungry and on a sunny day!

best restaurant i have been to in rotorua. thebuffetto be honest was not bad.

not all the dishes were great, but one that stood out was the beef... simply amazing! melts in your mouth like $200 wagyu.

buffet was only $69pp. making this the best monies worth restaurant in rotorua, and possible in new zealand. i live in auckland, if stratosphere is available there i will dine with on all occasions!

please come up to auckland!!! langham eight, angus steakhouse are nowhere near as good as this.

super monies worth

always enjoy coming here, staff are friendly, heaps of variety. the seafood chowder is probably my favourite 😍 does get really busy and can mean waiting in a long line to get along thebuffetwhich is probably the only downfall especially when you have kids w you. will deff be back 😊

stratosfare something different to try. taking a gondola to a restaurant is not that common

met by friendly staff,we were lead to thebuffetand explained that we can order like mussel pots. staff were great throughout the night,even taking photos for us and moving us to a better lighting area to take the photos

yes:
seafood chowder: lots of seafood and a little bit too cheesy but i could just have this all night and be happy

freshly made pancakes,so nice even without adding anything to it

pork: it's the light mustard sauce that makes this good

potato and kumara: just yum!

the multi coloured dessert,don't know what it is but had lime green on top,it was a lot better than i expected

all the different fishes available were good

undecided: the lamb chops,they were ok but weren't that warm

the various noodles they have,chicken kebab stick

the stuff that came from a can (vine leaves) or from a asian grocery store (the chinese dumplings) and the sushi (way too much rice in each piece)

the chocolate mousse was too sweet

the roast chicken,though i liked the crispy skin of the chicken i felt like i could eat this anywhere

the mussel pots are a no! one was tasteless and the other tasted funny


still it's one of the best buffets i've had

not a cheapbuffetbut the food here is high quality. nice selection of meat to cook, sashimi is fresh. the range of dessert is excellent as well, nice way to treat yourself and to heal from some unpleasant event that happened.

food was pretty good for abuffetstyle. there was nothing really special about this restaurant other than the views. at least i learned that octopus can be cooked differently than how i normally cook it.  otherwise yeah not too bad.

thebuffetwas extraordinary with so much selection and what an experience you get with it too, riding up the gondola to dinner 🚠

my personal favourite dishes were the bamboo shoots and prawn salad (4th photo) 🥗 vegetarian dumplings as they were stuffed with mushroom meat 🥟🍄 and the crab

we had my mum's 50th up here and it was great! views are amazing! price for thebuffetincludes the gondola ride up and a free drink (including cocktails) so i thought it was great value. heaps of vegetarian options and everything was pretty yum! didn't love the desserts, probably the only downfall. staff were excellent

thebuffetat stratosfare made myself and four other members of my tour group sick. when i recovered i went to speak to the manager. he tried to shift the blame to the meals we had for lunch the day prior. i explained that the people who were unwell had completely different lunches and dinners the night before. he took my details and assured me that within a week i would hear back from the restaurant. that was about a month ago and i have not received any correspondence. absolutely disgusting for such an expensive venue. not only was i unable to enjoy part of my holiday, the way i was treated when i brought this to the attention of staff was appalling.

one of the bestbuffetspreads in the world, stratosfare's hospitality and warmth is commendable.

for nz $90, there was ample of food from the world cuisine to choose from. desserts were finger-licking good

plenty of options for vegans and vegetarians.

hospitality was top-notch

make sure you have early dinner (half an hour prior to sunset) as to enjoy the scenic view fro the glass windows.

a must.

excellentbuffetdinner with a wide range of food. the view was just simply amazing. we have booked for early dinner and find the time was just right especially with young kids. we had a lovely dining experience.

i visited this restaurant for lunch and was very disappointed with the food they offered for vegetarians. i had opted for abuffetlunch which clearly stated vegetarian options but when i tasted the food, it felt as if the dishes were prepared just for the heck of it. first of all, there was not a single main course for vegetarians and all there was a spinach cannelloni which had absolutely no flavour whatsoever. the rest of the dishes where just roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes, boiled/grilled vegetables and just a few baos for which there were no vegetarian fillings. all the sushi’s were non vegetarian and the rotisserie’s were all non vegetarian. in today’s day and age where we are surrounded by vegetarians people, the restaurant should’ve been a little more considerate and mindful while preparing for vegetarians. in my entire stay of 20 days in new zealand, this was by far my worst experience. in addition to the food being bad, no options for any kind of drinks was available, extremely noisy and loud place and lastly long queues for one of the worst experiences in new zealand. everything here was way below average.

i lovebuffetmeal for its wide range of everything.  although i am not a big eater, i love varieties hencebuffetspreads or smorgasbord is my way of feasting once a while. wanaka and queenstown are my favourite places on earth.  this is where i go for heavenly holidays with beautiful landscape and wonderful food.  relaxation with good views and good food go hand in hand and there is no better place to visit than stratosfare restaurant with its wide varieties of food from soup, salads, crackers & cheese, sushi, selection of mains and desserts to die for.
