stillwater at crittenden

came here a few months ago as it was the onlyplacewhere we could get a table at the last minute so expectations were low but it was so much better than expected. first off, it’s a beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous set up and views. the service was incredible and the staff were attentive. now, the food was the best. wonderful flavours and cooked to perfection. kudos to the chef!

it’s used to be very niceplacefor lunch, food was nice and taste with elegant presentation, wow beautiful and friendly atmosphere. now it’s worth then fish and chips. i hope it’s will be back to priviesplacewith good chef and staff.

lovelyplaceto have the opportunity to celebrate a family member's birthday. ordered scallops, seared tuna, eye fillet and duck, couple of bottles of wine. the power went out for the duration of our visit and the food still managed to be absolutely delicious. couldn't fault any element. only downside, we couldn't try any of the desserts however, definitely a good excuse to return.

the food that was served was of great quality and cooked to perfection. there was a big group of us, so we were able to order each item on the menu and everything was delicious. no complaints. we also ordered a cheese platter and dessert - only complaint is we waited about 30 minutes for this to come out. bit surprised as our mains came out faster?

great views and the environment was nice, air conditioned inside and great natural light. great for all kinds of dining styles.

honestly service here overall was mediocre. the lady who served us especially had appalling service. (above the shoulder length blonde hair with a half ponytail) as someone who works in hospitality myself, i expected aplacelike stillwater to have a certain level of service and hospitality, however i was disappointed. we ordered a tasting platter halfway through our food because there wasn't enough but our server told us that it would be a bit too much (which we acknowledged), but we decided to go ahead with it. we finished our lunch, waited about 20 minutes and the checked to see if it was on it's way, which we were then to find out she did not put it through because it was 'too much food' but i didn't realise we lived in a communist society at stillwater. this wouldn't have been an issue if she had apologised about it but instead looked at us like it was our issue and asked if we would like dessert instead. we looked at the dessert menu and decided to get the cheese platter. i asked her whether we could grab some cold meat on the side with it and she responds by saying that we can't because it only comes with the tasting plate (which she didn't put through). i thought some compromising of her mistake would have been possible but apparently not. service makes a very big difference with how enjoyable aplaceis despite how great food is. management need to make sure their staff are equip to deal with conflict in this dining environment.

greatplaceand kid friendly happy to accomodate for our pram friendly staff . pork belly was amazing as was the lamb blackstrap and the eye fillet 100 per cent i will return , looking out over the lake vineyard and lawn sets up a very nice mood while having quality wine and beer !

this was my 2nd visit to stillwater, 12 months ago it was fantastic and a large group had a great experience, this time it was a bit and miss with things.

90% of the food was really good (avoid the lamb it's way to fatty) but it's way overpriced for the portion sizes. service was good from the manger but other staff seemed to have no idea and it was hard work even getting a drink ordered and they completely forgot 1 of our groups main meals (i give some leeway for this as you expect some top up staff over the summer but not with forgetting a meal) it's a beautifulplaceto go and the grounds are beautiful but so are all winery's down there so that's not enough.

love this place! the entry to this gorgeous property is enough to make you feel special but between the perfectly manicured gardens and the exceptional food and wine offerings, stillwater is truly a spectacular place. the food especially is fresh and vibrant whilst remaining traditionally and well executed. the staff are seasoned veterans and well suited to the venue being professional, friendly and knowledgeable. a perfectplaceto take a partner or family! a must visit!

beautiful restaurant/winery! all the food we had was delicious. it has a great outdoor area at the back of the property overlooking the vineyard and lake, a greatplaceto have a drink in summer. highly recommend

wow! thisplaceis superb. it's a beautiful setting and the food is delicious. it's winery fine dining and definitely one of the more expensive wineries in the area. the produce and service however are worth it.

what l lovelyplace- long weekend. was surprised by the relaxed atmosphere on a long week end, sick of standing in que or fighting for a table,
it was beautiful, abit expensive, as you need to order 2 courses on sundays and public holidays
lovely tables and food ,service was exceptional,
spent time walking around the lake after our meal

noice, not nice!. lovely surroundings until the traffic noise hits in. the staff were lovely and i only wished the food matched the smiles. encouraged to order the wagyu steak after being told it was melt in the mouth and had fellow diners dishers put under our nose three of our group forked out $10 extra on top of our $58 two course menu. don't do it, we were left chewing on pieces of steak that you'd question from your local fish and chip shop on a steak burger and unfortunately left a lot on the plate, not marbled, grisle. that said the entree's were great, school prawns and quail. niceplacefor a wine and wander, better places not so far away for gorgeous food. go for the wine not the food.

special. the lake side surroundings make this winery unique.the restaurant windows look out to the lake and greenery. i had the snapper fillet which was cooked to perfection and tasted divine with the creamy risotto. their side of hand-cut chips are also very irresistible! i recommend thisplacefor a relaxing lunch, if not, even just to walk around the lake and estate.

the best. myself and my fiance were looking to get married, we tried many restaurants and it was either the food or the service that was a constant let down. the restaurants we did sample were of the highest calibre including restaurants where their head chef's are on australian tv in australia's highest rating shows. we then explored and with our last attempt stubled on stillwater at crittenden. if you know your food, enjoy the freshest of produce (alot of the greens are grown next to the restaurant) thisplacewill simply blow you away. from the time we first stepped in we were greeted with great service and food to die for. sitting on the deck, overlooking a beautiful lake, eating the very best food i have ever had in melbourne, together with their great wines was such a great experience. such a good experience that now we are going to share this with our wedding party which is happening early september. we have been back since and the consistency was sensational!! if you have not been to this wonderful restaurant which has just been recently refurbished you are honestly missing out in my opionion the most complete dining experience in melbourne.
