stillwater at crittenden

stillwater - incredible!. i have just gotbackfrom mothers day lunch at stillwater and was compelled to write my very first restaurant review. greeted with a gorgeous gift and incredibly warm and professional service - then came the food wow. i cannot fault our meal, wines, service or the outlook from this incredible restaurant. i do not hesitate in recommending it to all my family and friends. thank you thank you thank you for one of the best mothers days ever x

it’s used to be very nice place for lunch, food was nice and taste with elegant presentation, wow beautiful and friendly atmosphere. now it’s worth then fish and chips. i hope it’s will bebackto privies place with good chef and staff.

a simple but pretty winery, and the first i've visited in australia. i had a glass of dry rose as i sat outbackon the deck and admired the lake view. for my meal, an asparagus terrine to start (a bit plain for my taste, but featuring a very interesting cured egg yolk that no one seemed to enjoy except me). and as a main, i tried the truffle gnocchi. it was nice, but lacked flavour and didn't taste like truffle at all. a bit more salt and tomato would have helped. as for service, staff was nice enough but not super with it (i.e. took half the table's coffee orders and then disappeared before i got a chance to request one). it was busy, though, so i can cut some slack. i just hope this was a once-off unsavoury experience.

i came here with my fiancé just after he had proposed. the service was beautiful. everyone was so lovely and happy. the food was just perfect. honestly i think it’s the best food i have ever had. will definitely comebackhere when we have saved a bit of money! 😂

a lovely lunch today. the food was superb! i enjoyed the duck, it was to die for! very tender and was accompanied with wonderful combinations - golden raisin compote and celeriac puré. the dessert also hit top marks with the banana cake. simply delicious. the only let down unfortunately was the service. not only did we have to wait a good twenty minutes for anyone to come and serve our drinks, we had to ask for a menu as they still hadn't given it to us once we had ordered our drinks! at such an up market place, we would've thought menus would've been given straight up when we were seated... in addition when we asked for her knowledge on the food, she seemed uninterested and clueless about what was on the menu. another thing was a crying baby who sat next to us for almost our whole sitting. this was very unpleasant, and although we understand it is hard to control these things, it was still extremely uncomfortable. nevertheless we still had a wonderful experience and would bebackto try some more gorgeous food!

food was amazing. we got the 3 course meal on the weekend with there being a real variety of dishes (fish, meat and veggie) to select from. service was also fantastic with all staff being extremely friendly. sitting on the balcony out thebackoverlooking the lake was also quite memorable. would gobackin a heart beat! thanks!

beautiful restaurant/winery! all the food we had was delicious. it has a great outdoor area at thebackof the property overlooking the vineyard and lake, a great place to have a drink in summer. highly recommend

before i start talking about lunch at crittenden estate i want to mention that today is leap 'baby' piecey num num's 4th birthday. i didn't plan to launch my blog on the 29th, it just sort of happened and as the day only comes around once every 4 years i think it is worth mentioning. the last 4 years haven't exactly panned out as i had planned. the frequency of my posts has been a bit erratic over the years as i have allowed 'life' to get in the way of blogging but i have big plans for the blog this year and regular posts are at the top of the list. nowbackto lunch :)

really lovely venue, great service and excellent food! what else do i need to say? hmm, great value for money: $60 for two courses, food was thoughtfully prepared and tasted scrumptious! i really couldn't fault this restaurant. i'll certainly bebackwith my family again!

they have $55 for 3 course going on which you can choose from menu
and had a bottle of wine..
food was lovely start till end..
but for me hit was my dessert( chocolate) i was too full but could not stop myself from finishing the dessert..
service was great..both waitresses were lovely..and view is beautiful.we had table by window..as weather was not gr8..but would love to sit outside next time..will bebackfor sure..loved it..:)

it's always a bonus when you can rely on a restaurant and stillwater is one of these. our first visit was waybackduring the drought and what a bonus to look out onto the lovely lake, green lawns and an abundance of water birds, it was an appreciated oasis. it has been refurbished in the last 12 months, again great to see a business puttingbackin and keeping it fresh. the food is excellent i particularly enjoy their duck dishes while my partner has been won over with the steaks. i think for the food, views and ambiance the prices are reasonable and most mains actually come with veg, a pleasant change! we rent property on the peninsular and never hesitate in recommending stillwater, wise to book. staff also very pleasant and seem to enjoy working there, happy diner! it shouldn't have taken me this long to put fingers to keypad.

the best. myself and my fiance were looking to get married, we tried many restaurants and it was either the food or the service that was a constant let down. the restaurants we did sample were of the highest calibre including restaurants where their head chef's are on australian tv in australia's highest rating shows. we then explored and with our last attempt stubled on stillwater at crittenden. if you know your food, enjoy the freshest of produce (alot of the greens are grown next to the restaurant) this place will simply blow you away. from the time we first stepped in we were greeted with great service and food to die for. sitting on the deck, overlooking a beautiful lake, eating the very best food i have ever had in melbourne, together with their great wines was such a great experience. such a good experience that now we are going to share this with our wedding party which is happening early september. we have beenbacksince and the consistency was sensational!! if you have not been to this wonderful restaurant which has just been recently refurbished you are honestly missing out in my opionion the most complete dining experience in melbourne.
