stillwater at crittenden

delicious food!. we came here recently as a group on a saturday and i was really impressed with the food. the pork belly entree was amazing and my husband's beef rib was plentiful and mouth watering. the duck for main was amazing and i had the panna cotta for dessert with poached pear and persian fairy floss and just the right amount of spice. everyone else was thrilled with their meals too. the pumpkin for side was also fantastic though the side of chips could have been better. the service was alsolovelyand very accommodating but there were some miscommunications between the waitress and the kitchen which meant 1 entree was delayed and the kids meals weren't brought out at the same time as the adults entrees as we requested and by 1pm they were getting very hungry and cranky, a good range of kids meals that included the usual but also minute steak, chips and vegies which was a nice touch. we will definitely be back, the 3 courses for $75 was very reasonable and an upmarket family friendly venue!

we came here for dinner last friday and enjoyed the evening.lovelystaff and ambience. the entree of pork belly and tiger prawns were delicious, just wished the pork belly came with more sauce. we also loved the lamb more than the sirloin steak. for dessert we had the chocolate pot which was satisfying. my partner enjoyed the citrus tart. can’t wait to be back!

celebrated my mum’s 70th with a party of 14. each & everyone of the dishes were exquisite. the wine was very good & the service excellent. it’s alovelyclassy winery with a very pretty setting & superb food & wine.

food was delightful, i do recommend the passionfruit dessert. view was beautiful. however, the service was not all there. manager was pleasant, and as was onelovelylady, but the other staff just seemed rude, or unapproachable. and for a winery, you would think that they would be keeping our wine glasses full, or suggesting wines for each course. but no. while kids drawing supplies were given and high chairs are available, one staff member did not seem to want to deal with kids or an accidental spill.

favourite venue, food was delicious and the pinot waslovely(even for those at the party who aren't big on red wine!) i can't recommend this spectacular location enough. can't wait to be back!

i came here with my fiancé just after he had proposed. the service was beautiful. everyone was solovelyand happy. the food was just perfect. honestly i think it’s the best food i have ever had. will definitely come back here when we have saved a bit of money! 😂

alovelylunch today. the food was superb! i enjoyed the duck, it was to die for! very tender and was accompanied with wonderful combinations - golden raisin compote and celeriac puré. the dessert also hit top marks with the banana cake. simply delicious. the only let down unfortunately was the service. not only did we have to wait a good twenty minutes for anyone to come and serve our drinks, we had to ask for a menu as they still hadn't given it to us once we had ordered our drinks! at such an up market place, we would've thought menus would've been given straight up when we were seated... in addition when we asked for her knowledge on the food, she seemed uninterested and clueless about what was on the menu. another thing was a crying baby who sat next to us for almost our whole sitting. this was very unpleasant, and although we understand it is hard to control these things, it was still extremely uncomfortable. nevertheless we still had a wonderful experience and would be back to try some more gorgeous food!

beautiful setting. lovelygardens at the entrance. nice views from the restaurant. the restaurant struck me as good but not completely top notch. the prawns for entree were good but not outstanding. the eye fillet for main was good but not exceptionally good. we had a nice local pinot noir with them. service was serviceable not spectacularly terrific. it's a good experience here but not a great one. i liked it but the price tag suggests something more than what ultimately gets delivered.

stopped to do a wine tasting and then were lucky to stumble across this delightful restaurant.  the staff werelovelyand very attentive. every dish was sensational, good produce known exactly how to be cooked. we ordered a couple bottles of the vineyard chardonnay which matched perfectly with our food. the scenery was gorgeous.  definitely a must for lunch if you're in the area.

it's a great way to spend a saturday afternoon. the service was second to none withlovelystaff finding the right balance of service and attention. pork belly entree brought me to a tear, it was that good. my wife had a moment at dessert. mains werelovelybut slightly over cooked. the cellar staff were the only let down. not very friendly or helpful, sadly. but overall it was an absolute pleasure to visit.

i've been to stillwater a few times and have never been disappointed. the service is friendly and the food is always delicious and reasonably priced considering the quality (and compared to city restaurants). the grounds are alsolovelyfor a nice stroll after lunch.

reallylovelyvenue, great service and excellent food! what else do i need to say? hmm, great value for money: $60 for two courses, food was thoughtfully prepared and tasted scrumptious! i really couldn't fault this restaurant. i'll certainly be back with my family again!

yet another foodie gem on the mornington peninsula wine trail. stillwater at crittenden as the name suggests, is located at crittenden estate, which is technically in dromana, halfway between the beach and the foothills of merricks north. it’s alovelylocation, and we – that’s katie and her best friend from the states, melissa and of course yours truly –  were lucky enough to visit on an amazing day, perfect clear sky’s, beautifully warm, but not too hot at 27c. the peninsular was certainly turning it on for our overseas guest. the restaurant is nestled between the vineyard and a picturesque lake, and since we got a table out on the deck we were treated to somelovelyviews. you walk pass the wine tasting venue on the way to the restaurant – unfortunately katie was quite hungry as we were running a little late having picked melissa up from the phillip island ferry, so there was no stopping to sample the wines before lunch – i had to tried a few from the menu without any prior knowledge – such a tragedy i know! on weekends, stillwater has a two or three course menu for $60 of $75, not bad value considering the quality and size of the options. we all opted for the three course menu which in hindsight was probably a little bit piggish but who cares – a long lunch in the sunshine with good food, wine and company – yep, it’s a hard life but someone has to live it. to begin we chose our starters and melissa and i chose some wine by the glass. katie opted for water and the crispy fried pork belly with green papaya slaw, chilli caramel. although katie was pleased with her choice she looked a little miffed that she couldn’t indulge in a glass of wine – well, there’s only 10 weeks until our baby girl greets the world so mum will just have to hold tights and live vicariously through others. anyway, i digress, melissa chose a rose which i didn’t se

fresh, friendly, fabulous.lovelyto find a winery on the peninsula that isn't pretentious but still offering fresh & tasty food.
staff are so friendly & the food is definitely fresh & cooked to order. really love their wines also.
we loved it so much we decided to get married there! & that night was fabulous also. they are obviously quite capable of the a la carte for 2 people or a full scale wedding for over 100 people.

well done stillwater staff & looking forward to returning - perhaps our anniversary :)

what llovelyplace - long weekend. was surprised by the relaxed atmosphere on a long week end, sick of standing in que or fighting for a table,
it was beautiful, abit expensive, as you need to order 2 courses on sundays and public holidays
lovely tables and food ,service was exceptional,
spent time walking around the lake after our meal
will definitely go back, very very nice
