stillwater at crittenden

stillwater - incredible!. i have just got back from mothers day lunch at stillwater and was compelled to write my very first restaurant review. greeted with a gorgeous gift and incredibly warm and professional service - then came the food wow. i cannot fault our meal, wines, service or the outlook from this incredible restaurant. i do not hesitate in recommending it to all my family and friends. thank you thank you thank you for one of the best mothers days ever x

excellent food, let down by service issues. truth be told, i loved the food and wine selection at stillwater.

my partner and i shared the pork belly entree (which was excellent) and i then proceeded to enjoy the lamb rack for main (which was superb!) whilst my partner had the wagyu steak (which was very good, but i'm unsure if it warranted the $75 price tag?)

the issue we had was with service, particularly at the beginning of the meal. we were seated at an unset table, which means that the staff proceeded to set it around us which made it a little difficult to relax if i'm honest. i'm gluten intolerant and naturally inquired as to what was safe to eat on the menu. not only did the waiter seem unsure as to what and wasn't appropriate, but he walked off when i attempted to ask a question - not good!

that said, as the meal progressed the service improved and the older gentleman was replaced with a far more outgoing individual (who had an accent, from memory).

one other thing worth mentioning - cudos to stillwater for serving gluten free bread (which i assume they made themselves), but please warm it before you send it out! gf bread can be quite dry and crumbly (especially when made with rice flour) so warming it can make it far more palatable. i'd also recommend using some chia seed to replace the gluten and assist the 'binding' process a little more next time.

delicious food!. we came here recently as a group on a saturday and i was really impressed with the food. the pork belly entree was amazing and my husband's beef rib was plentiful and mouth watering. the duck for main was amazing and i had the panna cotta for dessert with poached pear and persian fairy floss and just the right amount of spice. everyone else was thrilled with their meals too. the pumpkin for side was also fantastic though the side of chips could have been better. the service was also lovely and very accommodating but there were some miscommunications between the waitress and the kitchen which meant 1 entree was delayed and the kids meals weren't brought out at the same time as the adults entrees as we requested and by 1pm they were getting very hungry and cranky, a good range of kids meals that included the usual but also minute steak, chips and vegies which was a nice touch. we will definitely be back, the 3 courses for $75 was very reasonable and an upmarket family friendly venue!

been here twice and both times have had great experiences. the dining room has great views and wine and food are really well presented and tasty.

divine. we came on a wednesday for our anniversary lunch and it was amazing. hubby had pork belly and then the fish, i had prawns and the rib eye. the serving sizes were good the flavours were perfect and the view was lovely. understated fine dining with excellent service and gorgeous wine. we loved it. highly recommend!

it was amazing! the view was spectacular, the staff were very friendly and efficient, the eye fillet blew me socks off, will defiantly become a regular!! thank you very much stillwater!!

came here a few months ago as it was the only place where we could get a table at the last minute so expectations were low but it was so much better than expected. first off, it’s a beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous set up and views. the service was incredible and the staff were attentive. now, the food was the best. wonderful flavours and cooked to perfection. kudos to the chef!

far exceeded expectations, we had what can only be described as a truly memorable lunch. the outlook and service were fantastic, but the food was even better. everything we ate was very very good. it is very rare that i will leave a restaurant without thinking that at least one thing could have been better, but this was one of those occasions. would definitely go back, the only issue would be with selecting what to eat next time, i would like to try different dishes, but everything we had was so good that i would want to eat it again. had the tasting plate and pork belly for entree, lamb and fish of the day for main, cheeses and panna cotta for dessert.

perfect spot for some drinks and tapas on a sunny summers day. charcuterie board & saganaki on point! friendly staff happy to help with selections and to go out of their way for you. outdoor area is nice on a sunny day.

had 3 courses - the ocean trout, followed by the duck and then the coconut panna cotta to finish. all 3 dishes were very well balanced and full of flavour! the view over the vineyards and the lake created a tranquil setting. would recommend.

my husband and i had been looking forward to this dinner all day. our waiter look our order for all three courses right way. got out drinks and the first two courses then our second drinks ordered and desert never arrived our waiter seemed to have dissappeared and we could not get the attention of any other staff. after waiting an hour, we paid and left very disappointed with the night. happy new year 2021.

it’s used to be very nice place for lunch, food was nice and taste with elegant presentation, wow beautiful and friendly atmosphere. now it’s worth then fish and chips. i hope it’s will be back to privies place with good chef and staff.

we came here for dinner last friday and enjoyed the evening. lovely staff and ambience. the entree of pork belly and tiger prawns were delicious, just wished the pork belly came with more sauce. we also loved the lamb more than the sirloin steak. for dessert we had the chocolate pot which was satisfying. my partner enjoyed the citrus tart. can’t wait to be back!

celebrated my mum’s 70th with a party of 14. each & everyone of the dishes were exquisite. the wine was very good & the service excellent. it’s a lovely classy winery with a very pretty setting & superb food & wine.

a simple but pretty winery, and the first i've visited in australia. i had a glass of dry rose as i sat out back on the deck and admired the lake view. for my meal, an asparagus terrine to start (a bit plain for my taste, but featuring a very interesting cured egg yolk that no one seemed to enjoy except me). and as a main, i tried the truffle gnocchi. it was nice, but lacked flavour and didn't taste like truffle at all. a bit more salt and tomato would have helped. as for service, staff was nice enough but not super with it (i.e. took half the table's coffee orders and then disappeared before i got a chance to request one). it was busy, though, so i can cut some slack. i just hope this was a once-off unsavoury experience.
