myself and my wife came here for lunch on the first day of our honeymoon after a long bumpy flight and what a find! the service was impeccable, a young gentleman was more than happy to give us perfect advise on what winery's were a must do and his input made our stay in launceston. the food was good we had a deconstructed caesar salad as well as the tempura fish of the day both of which were cooked very well and the tasmanian sparkling topped off everything. all in all a great experience and a must do when in launceston. thank you and we will be back!

stillwater sits in a refurbished flour mill overlooking the tamar river. the location is fitting for a restaurant that was awarded best stand alone restaurant in 2011 by the aha. the flour mill setting provides a rustic cosy feel, yet the service is top notch and (overly) efficient – a reminder that we’re in a fine dining restaurant.

eventageous.. went to a recent event here and was fully blown away by the tassie prowess.
there will come a day when a tassie establishment that marches to the beat of its own drum upstages a mainland icon.

expensive but a beautiful experience. we dropped in to stillwater not long after landing in launceston for a 5 day break and what a great way to start a break. the food & service are top notch with ambience and price to match a classy casual upmarket restaurant. i would recommend it to anyone who is comfortable with the price.

went for dinner with friends last night and couldn't fault stillwater. impeccable service. a truly gastronomical experience matched with exceptional wine. even the hand soap was faultless. we will be recommending stillwater to friends and family in need of a superior dining experience.

plan your meal around the dessert options, or you will have to live with the regret of seeing amazing sweet creations float past your table while you can't manage another mouthful. a delightful evening began with a warm welcome; progressed to hot bread (including house-baked gluten free for my companion); hit a high point with baked snapper; perfect finish with mint, chocolate and a cup of tea. cosy atmosphere, smart service and no sticker shock. i'd eat here again in a heartbeat.

booked for a lunch here as had eaten at black cow and wanted to try its sister restaurant.
we were really disappointed since black cow was exceptional.
main reason was that the service, meals and atmosphere do not match the price you are paying to be there.

delicious breakfast at stillwater! we decided to keep it simple with scrambled eggs & some waffles to share. the eggs were to die for, honestly best scrambled eggs i've had in a while and the waffles didn't disappoint either. have to say though i am glad hubby and i shared, the waffles were quite sweet and half a serve was the perfect amount.

went for a lovely sunday afternoon walk at the gorge. called in for a sit-down coffee at 2.35pm and we were denied, but offered a take-away. left in disgust.

fantastic! service from a pretty young crew very good. entrees tartare and a calamari dish. both great at $16 &$17 each. good value. main duck and pork side of broccoli. don’t thing the cherry complimented the duck, felt a bit old fashioned to me. dessert was the standout dish. chocolate bavarois was amazing, salty, sweet and just perfect in every way.

first time visiting launceston i did some research on some recommended brunch places. i'm really not surprised this place is at the top of the search results.
my eggs benedict arrived 5-10 mins right after ordering it along with my coffee. was interesting having a mild taste of vinegar in this dish, not something i've tried before but the combination really worked.
staff were super friendly and even took the time to recommend some places to sight see.
the venue has it's own drive in with plenty of parking. would definitely visit this place again the next time i'm down in tassi.

came here for breakfast and loved the location! the red bowl is such a stand out. the flavors are delicious, and the eggs benny is also so good.

the menu was not explained to us by the waitress. the main meals are really designed for sharing and are not individual portions. i ordered the sichuan chicken and it was half a chicken with nothing else. my partner ordered the fish and it was enormous. i would suggest only ordering one main to share between two people. an overall average experience. .

i think this is a really good restaurant definitely worth visiting if you’re in launceston. the service was great and at the level of a fine dining restaurant but the ambience was comfortable. for starters, the hot smoked salmon churros, beef tartare and whipped cod roe were really good. for mains, the octopus pasta and the market fish (grilled) were also both great fresh flavourful dishes. definitely happy to come back again!

we ordered beef cheek, the dish was disappointing us actually, vegetables on sides are very salty and greasy, we could not eat that one, and it cost us $48 for that dish, we were very disappointed and complained to the waitress but what they offered us was just waived another dish which was $11.
