spring sushi

an honest review. i want to start by saying that no one has paid me to write this review, however i felt the need to.
i have been to spring sushi many times and i have also been to other ayce sushi joints as well. inside of hamilton and outside of hamilton this is the best sushi that you can get ayce style.
the service is extremely fast due to the ipad menu system and this alone makes it a winner for myself.
the sushi is always fresh and like i said i have gone multiple times probably in the range of a dozen.
the servers are 50/50 i find there are some really kind and useful servers and others who think they're almost toogoodto even be working at such a place. i dislike that however it's not a direct reflection of the restaurant they're young kids and this is expected by at least 1 server in every restaurant you enter into.
they do need a bigger waiting room yes, but i can almost bet anyone who commented on this doesn't know how to make a reservation either.
i would like to see dim sum come to spring & then it would be the absolute total package of a restaurant!

vegas rolls are amazing! along with the scallops & spicy crispy rolls! all delicious!

ps; spring sushi please get coca cola instead of pepsi or perhaps both haha pepsi takes very peculiar with sushi in my opinion.

i went here for dinner one evening based on the relatively high rating. i was severely disappointed. i was expecting a japanese restaurant with with a reallygoodchoice of sushi and sashimi items. what i found was a typical all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant and in my experience not a particularlygoodone. the decor was ok, the service was spotty, the food presentation was almost nonexistent and boring. to sum up the people of hamilton must have very low expectations of a "sushi" restaurant to have given it this high a rating. i will not return to this restaurant.

honestly over rated! it's defiantly agoodprice but then again quality>quantity. food isn't anything special. no imagination bad presentation and menu selection is limited. also staff is rude!! i've never encountered employees so impatient and disrespectful especially dealing with children . their lack of competence is astonishing. never going back! also no warning they didn't take take debit only cash or credit and then charged extra to use the atm.

pros and cons. spring sushi in hamilton (on upper james) had it's pros and cons.
made a reservation because i heard the place is busy at lunch-time; even with a reservation my group and i had to wait 25 minutes for a table (regular wait time when we were there). - i kindly asked the hostess "what's the point of a reservation if someone has to wait with everyone else?" she replied, "we just don't have a table for you right now". - well you should have prepared one before we got there - that's the point of a reso! - not impressed.
our server (kevin) was very kind and prompt (for the most part). he disappeared for agood20 minutes, so plates started to pile up, butgoodservice overall. - check
presentation and portion of food was good; standard, but nothing extravagantly special. food comes out at agoodpace.- check
they did forget some items that we ordered and it wasn't until we mentioned it to another server (because kevin disappeared at this time), that it was brought. - not impressed.

overall, the restaurant is okay, but i don't care to return. the reservation situation really turned me off because it displays lack of professionalism and quality service.

have been here multiple times and consider it one of the best in hamilton. we like the atmosphere and the ipad style menus.gooddishes are green dragon, las vagas roll, salmon salad, white tuna. service is always good. fast and polite.

horrible server. horrible girl server, absolutely miserable. not given anygoodservice, will not be returning.

it's above average when it comes to all you can eat sushi restaurants. service isgoodand orders are taken with a tablet so ordered items are documented.goodplace to eat.

quantity over quality. yes, i get that their ipad ordering system is pretty funky

however, i found the sushi to be of the calibre usually served in grocery stores.

i've had a lot ofgoodsushi, and this was just - a lot of sushi. i will not be returning again.

birthday dinner. i've been to spring a few times, and last was in june for my birthday - that particular meal i was very happy with the service provided.

first off it was 2 days past my birthday, but they still honoured my party as that day was the celebration. even in last minute notice, they were able to arrange for a chocolate cake for me (free). i was surprised to see it was a -full- cake that was baked in the restaurant. it came with at least 5-6 servers that sang happy birthday

food -- always love the sushi here, it's my favourite in the city for ayce. fresh, creative menu ideas. great options and alternatives for drinks (try the strawberry tea!).

atmosphere -- best ayce sushi atmosphere and brand-experience in the city. it's a professional, full experience, down to the details. makes any occasion feel special.

service -- they are always busy! and that can slow things down or make the servers feel stressed. but alas,goodfood brings the masses.

price -- it's more expensive than any other ayce, but if you wantgoodfood and a memorable, contemporary environment, this is the place.

very good!. went there tonight for the first time. friends that live in hamilton suggested we all go there. i thought the ipads for ordering was very neat, and made food coming to your table much faster because the servers don't have to take orders, they just bring the food after it goes in. food was good, atmosphere was good. if you're going to go for dinner, i would suggest making reservations. only thing they could have done better is making a better waiting area for people waiting on a table. random people were standing everywhere around our table. awkward. overall,goodplace. will definitely go back in the future!

reallygoodsushi. a friend and i dined here on a weekday, still a fairly busy place. no waiting in line. the service was fast, the food was very good. the sashimi was excellent and so was the black dragon roll and the spicy salmon roll. the staff were very courteous. i would definitely come back!

best in hamilton!. we come from vancouver where there are amazing sushi restaurants are on every street corner. this place isgoodbut terrific for hamilton. we would often debate between spring and august 8 downtown but i think this place is better because the sashimi is fresh. in-dine because their take-out a la carte isn't the same. we will continue to go back.

has always been good.. i have dined here many times with my wife, and also in large groups. i would have to say the selection compared to other all you can eat sushi resturants is high. the quality is well above average, but stil not quite asgoodas non-all you can eat places.

staff have always been pleasant and polite. we have been going once a month, or 2x a month since they opened and never once have we had any issues. they sometimes miss a dish but this has never seemed on purpose to me, and they always apologized if mentioned.

this is an extremely busy place, and so i suggest a reservation otherwise you can wait 1-2 hours for a table for a weekend dinner.

lunch is the best deal. there are a few items on the dinner menu that i love (green dragon roll is excellent), but the difference in price is not exactly worth those few items to me.

the people who have have bad experiences here should try it a second time. i believe the problems mentioned are merely rare flukes given the number of times we have been there with no issues.

nice atmosphere.goodsushi. only complaint is that you may not get everything u order. i.e one out of 10. but other than tht it was good. fast. clean.
