i typically dislike messy food, especially the idea of tall stacked burgers. what better way to test my theory than going tospitfirerestaurant and grill?

there's something about successfully taking a first bite of a tall burger.
that feeling of hope, optimism, and excitement and what's to come. similar to climbing a mountain, there's moments of exhilaration and just plain labour when eating this mouthful.

the housemade beef patty was flavourful, lettuce was deliciously fresh and gave it a little of that bitter kick. bacon and egg was a definite must, adding that overall extra ooomph to the meal.

shoutout to the fellow zomato reviewers who put the spotlight on the delicious sweet potato crinkle cut wedges. easily the highlight of the meal!!
would highly recommend this side to all.

service was really lovely and nice. attentive service coupled with smiles made for a great lunch service.
the decor was also cute, with airplanes dotted everywhere 🛩.

my family and i visited here earlier this week and our food was fantastic. we ordered hot & mild buffalo wings and 5 (very big) burgers, safe to say we were all very satisfied.
i ordered the mosquito, whilst my family ordered thespitfireand thunder bolt.

spitfire was recommended to us by a local who eats here regularly and adores the place and the owners and staff. i also noticed that it’s currently the highest rated place in this area. the local said the food was great and the service exceptional. he’s right. it’s a terrific place.

i received a beautiful warm and friendly greeting on arrival. it’s not a large place but it feels good here with an overallspitfireinfluenced theme. that’sspitfireas inspitfirethe old aeroplane.

i wasn’t in an adventurous mood so ordered thespitfireburger with chips.
the chips were delicious. hot, tasty and beautifully cooked very generous serve too. same with the burger. decent sized. in fact, too big for me to go close to finishing it. it had a good flavoured patty and was also very nicely cooked.

this is a good, very well run place. everything’s in harmony. it’s clearly a much loved place going by the people coming in and out regularly and the warm greetings and conversation i could hear.

loved our meal at spitfire! while it looks like just one of the many little restaurants/cafes along point nepean road,spitfirehas created an interesting dining experience through its eclectic decorations featuring model spitfires (what else?) and other world war ii curios. it certainly kept the boys (both young and old) entertained checking it all out. service was fantastic and super attentive, and the food was great too. burgers had juicy patties piled high; chips were crunchy and well seasoned; buffalo wings were the right amount of sticky and tasty. if you like a spice/chilli kick in your food, you can’t go past the red baron. couldn’t fault our experience. be prepared to ask for a take-home box as the portions are huge!

these were ginormous 😯 in the best ways possible, of course. i got thespitfireburger with an extra serving of bacon and a fried egg (which i totally recommend btw) and it was stuffed with a thick beef patty, fresh veggies, caramelised onions, glorious cheese and slathered with sauce.

the patty was cooked all the way through and nicely charred on the surface. it did get a little dry which is my only gripe but hey with a patty that thick you can't really complain 😛

this burger was good for two. and!!!! i highly recommend a side of sweet potato chips - they are the best i've ever had 🍟👌🏼

great service and the staff know how to make you feel welcomed. tried thespitfireand thunderbolt burger. definitely an eyeopened. the thunderbolt had a few pieces of chicken, generous amount of veggies, though without the pesto, the burger is quite plain. thespitfirehad a thick beef patty and was flavoursome. buffalo wings had a good taste, though the mild wasn't hot at all. crispy chips and lightly seasoned. drinks are good, just the right amount of sweetness.

i'm usually skeptical of massive burgers... butspitfirehas changed my opinion. the food here is incredibly well thought out, executed, fresh and unbelievably tasty. my partner and i shared a burger and chips and finished it off with a generous dessert. couldn't fault the food, service or price. we uploaded this photo to social media and had nine friends demand to know what they were looking at and where it can be found. don't missspitfireduring your visit to the mornington peninsula. be sure to have a chat to the chef and feel his passion for the food he's presenting you with.

what a great surprise we got when we went looking for the cafe with the 'biggest burgers in rosebud' (or i would say, melbourne if not australia) one cold wintery saturday night. it's really lovely and has  airforce memorabilia everywhere which is fascinating to look at, and read. the staff were just so friendly and helpful too. 
we decided against the chips (having seen the size of the burgers in front of the other people there) and ordered a burger each. the red baron (chilli), thespitfire(basic) and the vegetarian option with mushrooms (and haloumi instead of fetta). they were all absolutely delicious - but ginormous! it was such a novelty having a burger that size served to you, i would do it again in a heartbeat...but you could easily share a burger between two.

great atmosphere and great burgers.spitfireis a restaurant tucked away in a little unassuming location in rosebud , the burgers are great and very generously portioned, the atmosphere i found to be relaxed and the war theme is a great touch, if your after a burger and a few drinks i would highly recommend spitfire

amazing!!! great prices, amazingly tasty food, but most of all the friendly staff even the chef took the time to come out and have a chat and ask us if we enjoyed our meal, really impressed as you don't see that very often these days.. i givespitfirerestaurant and grill 10 stars out of 5...

absolutely amazing, went there on a whim and will be back many more times. would happily drive from melbourne for the burgers. the pulled pork (witchcraft) is delicious and thespitfireis huge and to die for. service was superb and we felt like we were eating with the family, everyone was so friendly. definitely try this place, you'll leave with a smile on your dial and a food baby.
