hidden up the escalators in chinatown i heard good things about this sichuan restaurant, but i was still pleasantly surprised. loved the oriental interior and most importantly food was amazing. every dish did not fail to deliver.dishesare not too expensive, with good portions that are easy to share. good variety of spicy and mild dishes. my personal favourites were the peppercorn fish, tofu soup, and brown sugar rice cakes. service was prompt and booking process was smooth. will visit every time i crave sichuan!

spicy joint has ridiculous large menu with amazing spicy options. the seating setup is amazing to allow the intimacy with your own table but enough space to separate from other tables.

4. pickled cabbage pot soup
5. pork slices in chilli

alldishesreally hit the spot. considering we ordered all thesedishesfor 2, the 1 dish i would take out was probably the skewers because it’s something you could get anywhere else.

this is a really popular sichuan restaurant and we waited for more than one hour for a seat. but unfortunately the food didn't meet my expectation. i was really looking forward to an authentic sichuan style chilli beef soup but all i got was a bowl of weird beef and wombok soup with way too much thickening flour and too little spices. otherdisheswere alright but not worth the long wait imo.

my wife loves this one. for me, maybe because i had too many sichuan foods before and am a bit picky, it is not surprisingly good. but i still rate it 5-star as the foods are well prepared. flavours of thedishesare not only correct but excellent, which is very difficult for some small restaurants. environment and services here are decent.

very popular sichuan chinese restaurant in chinatown, thedishesare very well portioned and although spicy, not overpowering where you can’t taste the food. lots of options on the menu too.

really loved this place. the price is decent but if you love sichuan spicy food, this is the place to go. the resturant's interior looks quite fancy as well. we went there around 5:30 pm to avoid the crowd. we ordered 4dishesand a drink and loved all the flavors (spicy but tasty and tolerable). pork trotters and the glass noodles were the best. would definitely come back for another pigging out...very soon!

the best sichuan food i’ve had outside of china. there’s a reason people queue to grab a spot at this joint. the food is spicy but just the right amount— addicting!

we ordered 6dishes(pictured, but i forgot the official names) and were pleasantly surprised with the flavours. the chicken looked really greasy at first but the spice helped cut the oil — not to mention the meat was extremely tender. the cold noodles were my favourite as they were a good combination of sour, sweet, and spicy. would definitely come again. recommend 10/10

the service was adequate and i didn’t feel like i was waiting too long or that i was getting bad service. however, i would give this place a 4 instead of a 5 because of the following reason— when you queue, you’re given a number on a piece of paper. you will then notice that the person calling out the humber only speaks in chinese. thankfully, i understand chinese so i was able to recognise when my number was being called. non-chinese speakers just a psa: study up on your chinese numbers or maybe ask for assistance when you go.

the interior is very modern and spacious. the design of the restaurant definitely elevated the whole dining experience. they keep the areas fairly clean which is a plus!

just a tip for people who are visiting for the first time— in order to get to the restaurant, you will need to ride an escalator up one floor.

cloudy cheese was such a surprising surprise, not too sweet and tastes creamy, the cloud was created by dry ice in water. nice touch! otherdisheswere fairly standard sichuan hotdishesand they were not bad. fish was very fresh! the place handles birthday cake very well, the wait stuff helped us to clear the table and enjoy some byo bd cake! i would give them 4 but my issue is i have stomachache every time after eating here.😰 xihuahua 🐶 is low-key training me to eat spicy food i think.🤔

don't understand why some people give the restaurant high ratings. the place is really an average at best. foods there taste...well tasteless, portion wise seems fine but without good taste it's no point. the worst part is the service there. the girl who served us cleaned a table and a garbage bin before serving ourdishesusing her dirty hands. during the whole time she seemed irate, and didn't response even when you talk to her politely, as if she hates people going there eating adding a load of work for her lol!

spicy joint has a perpetual queue that never seems to disperse. it's not hard to understand why: convenient chinatown location, nice interior and most importantly, good food. highlights: cold poached chicken in spicy sichuan sauce; steamed pork ribs and millet; fish fillet with pickled vegetables; lamb skewers. the milder chinese cabbage with gingko balanced out the strong flavours of the otherdishesnicely. service was efficient and ourdishescame out quickly. would recommend but keep in mind there will likely be a line during peak dining hours.

spicy chinese food lovers will definately enjoy this place. to avoid long queues it's best to make a booking.

the food were all tasty with a mix a different ingredients. first time trying a dish that was mash potato with pumpkin soup which was a great contrast to the spicy dishes. the buns were thin but will get you full quickly.

thedishescame out moderately quickly and all at once. there's alot of choices to choose from and not all are chilli.

prices ranges between up to $10 to $30 per dish.
great place to go in groups to try different dishes.

overall, good quality and portions for chinese spicy food.

the service was really poor, and the waitress was actually so rude. she did not clean up thedishesand just stood there waited us to remove the pans, and later she was impatient, and just left the food besides us, which means we have to delivery the food by ourselves. by the way, if you wanna order with her, she just let you wait 10 minutes. anyway, i definitely will never get there. terrible dining experience ever !!

i was certain that i heard this name somewhere, thinking back i remembered spicy joint had many branches of sichuan food in shanghai. whether it is the same, i’m not sure. it was beginning to line up at around 6 on friday. the interior design had a modern approach with traditional chinese roots. service wasn’t enthusiastic.

manydisheswere presented thoughtfully and carefully. the contrast of chunky chilli sauce with green bean noodles was delicious. chicken was tender with good heat and flavour. my favourite dish, poached fish in aromatic oil, lacked seasoning and the spice forward aroma. it has room for improvement.

one of the best and most popular sichuan restaurant.dishesare not as heavy as most chinese restaurants. you should definitely try their soup, dessert and colddishesas they are very authentic but rare outside china. either one of their three recommended fishdisheswould be great! the restaurant is very nicely decorated. great for any group size. price is very reasonable. definitely recommend.
