visited thisplacerecently for an evening out with family.
theplaceneeds an upgrade. the decor was run down and the lighting was bad. the quality of music and sound was jarring to the ears.
food was average, nothing extra ordinary.
considering that this area has a dozen other places, this one could easily be skipped unless theplaceis upgraded.

please be aware they charge gst on top of 10% service charge as well. this is illegal and major fraud. first of all there are hardly any waiters for whom you want to give service charge and entire menu and everything is digitised. check the bill attached. i would suggest instead of ruining your evening rather go to some otherplacewith good food and ethics.

sbow is your good old-fashioned irani cafe in the heart of bangalore's cbd. the seating is simple and well laid out, and the music is mainly retro bollywood (not at all times). the ambience has an inviting and comfortable feel to it, nothing feels intrusive.

the items to order here are definitely the parsi mainstays like the chicken farcha, mutton dhansak, and the kheema. these dishes are absolutely great on flavour. the dhansak was served in a typical steel layered lunchbox that i liked! as far as meat is concerned, go for the chicken and mutton dishes. the seafood dishes can be given a miss.

as for dessert, the mousse was great. there are also a decent amount of alcohol and beverage options, i recommend the raspberry soda in particular!

some downsides, quite a few items in the menu are not available at all times/served only on specific days. the service is a bit sluggish too, but the staff is cooperative and polite. prices for some dishes may not be justified by the portion size.

overall, a greatplaceto visit in bangalore for the irani cafe vibe, with a good amount of spending!

it's one of a well known parsi restaurant that was on my list for a long time. have gone there for a sunday lunch. thisplaceis pretty good in terms of covid protocol. they've kept the tables in between free to ensure social distancing and they've given separate sanitizer dispenser on each table.
coming to the food we've tried chicken farcha, kundapuri prawn, salli boti and berry pulao. chicken farcha and salli boti were amazing. a little bit disappointment with chicken berry pulao and kundapuri prawn although. altogether it's a nice place.
rating break up:
ambience: 5/5
portion size : 5/5
food: 3/5

i love thisplaceonly for the food and the decor 😋
best to visit on weekdays because weekends/holidays are a nightmare with their slow confused service!
must try : mutton keema with maska pav!
raspberry soda and phateli coffee!
don't try : chicken cutlets, berry chicken pulao and lemon soda!!

pros : ambience, music and the iranian menu
cons : service is super slow, prices are high especially the breakfast options, soda drink did not have the fizz and now, they don't have many items that are in their menu.

i'd suggest you try this place, take home the different experience and eat only the suggested specialities they cook!

had really really high expectations from theplaceas we were going after a really long time. we ordered the crispy corn bhel and salli boti. both of them were very very disappointing.

the crispy corn bhel was definitely not crispy and tasted okayish.

the salli boti was horrible. it seemed like an assembled dish instead of a independently cooked one. the mutton was chewy and had not absorbed any flavours. the curry seemed a generic curry. even the salli was not great.

also, not everyone wore their masks properly.

definitely not coming back here anymore and not recommending theplaceto anyone.

sodabottleopenerwala {sobw} is the one stop destination if you are looking for parsi food and irani specialties. it's located opposite of ub city on lavelle road. you will get the feeling of a proper irani feel once you enter the premises.
the menu in itself something interesting to read and each dish has a story behind it. great resemblance to bombaiya dishes if you gaze through the starters. we have been to thisplaceon a couple of occasions and it never disappointed. tried through their varied menu .
what's up for grabs
•crispy corn bhel
•paneer croquette
•egg wrapped keema pulao
•chicken berry pulao
•staff pickle achari chicken
•bohri keema pao
•baida roti
•chicken farcha
•chicken seekh kebab

and baked yogurt caramel custard with shrewberry biscuits.

there are also daily specials to look forward to. chicken sanju baba {a recipe provided by sanjay dutt himself to the legendary restaurant — noori mohammadi} is available on sundays. while the masoor ma gos {mutton cooked in masoor dal} is wednesday’s highlight.

the new menu at sbow gives a very different taste of parsi cuisine. everything at sbow is unique!
