stopped here after a day fun on the water. the menu is very limited. the crab cakes andfishwere fresh and delicious l, but the sides left us wanting... the fries were of the frozen variety, and the rice was bland. the only decent side was their slaw. it was certainly disappointing.

why aren't there more like this?!!. this is the only place that has a deck on the water in corpus!! thefishis delicious and fresh, the beer nice and cold, and the atmosphere nice relaxed for all to enjoy. it's a treat for anyone just looking to have some great tipical seafood fare, kickback a few brewskies, and enjoy some quality time while watching an amazing sunset. by the way, bring cash!! they don't take plastic. they have an atm but it's going to cost you.
and in the case you don't want seafood, scoopy's has some kickin' sandwiches and salads for those watching their figure.

today'sfishwas mahi mahi. pretty good as thefishand chips meal. french fries sucked. the crab cake was pretty good and the coleslaw was not your typical slaw. it had more of a poppy seed, dressing that was nice. rice was bland and basic. beer was, nice and cold.

i agree with previous posters, it’s somewhat refined fried food, right on the water. apparently they harvest their own shrimp — not sure why you’d want food that fresh fried, but hey it’s a texas thing. great family spot. a bit on the pricey side for afishshack but the locals swear by it. it gets a full point for location alone.

ok, so it's pretty much all fried food, which is hard to really mess up. still, snoopy's does a better job at serving up fried seafood than most places. as proof of that, i submit the half-sampler, a plate with two fried shrimp, two pieces of fried fish, and two fried oysters (though on mine, there were four fried oysters; i didn't complain then, and i'm not complaining now), plus french fries and a small, possibly only symbolic, ramekin of coleslaw.

of the three meats, thefishwas the best. the pieces were good sized, and lightly fried in very hot oil to come out crispy, juicy and delectable. the seasonings in the batter were subtle but pleasing, and thefishwas cooked through without being allowed to overcook by even a few seconds.

well, no; no; i'm going to say the oysters. they were the best. delicious little nuggets of highly-seasoned shellfish, crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. cha', bé, don't you know that how they s'posed to be, mais yeah.
i take it back: the shrimp were the best. though there were only two (and the quantity of cocktail sauce was, shall we say, understated), they had an excellent flavour and a superb texture. and i'm one of those people who eats the tail shells, thanks to my proper finishing school in loozianny, so i know from shrimp texture. if i could have only one meat course, it'd have to be the shrimp.

well. ok, i can't decide. even the fries were very well done, and i find that's true less often than you'd think. my only complaint has to be that this half-sampler doesn't come with hushpuppies, and i believe it's an assertion i couldn't challenged were snoopy's pier to assert that it has the best hush puppies in the whole world. luckily for me, the friend i was with, poor benighted soul, doesn't like hushpuppies, and so i got his. mmmm.

one other fact of note: we arrived just before sunset on a partly-cloudy day, and got the last table on the back deck. the sun went down dramatically beyond the laguna madre, and suddenly we were alone. everybody comes for the show as well as the food.

the curmudgeon’s ratings (explained, sort of, on the curmudgeon-about-town blog):

food: 4 chili peppers (out of 5)
service: 2 1/2 chili peppers
ambience: 3 chili peppers
value: 2 1/2 chili peppers

rude staff!fishnot not fresh! expensive!! on call in order i was told it will be ready in 15 minutes, got there, not one person asks "can i help you?" after 5 minutes, invited about my order and they stated they would put it in, i replied you said it would be ready in 15 minutes. they never told me it would be started when i arrived, when i told the man with deep voice, he said oh well, we have been doing it that way for 36 years. think they have gotten too big for their britches. 🙄 🤔☹️ 😩 i realized it is expensive, feel horrible afterwards because of all the beer batter, with very little fish, the onion ring were good, fries were a large order for $3.50 (6 small curly fries???)- guess the needed a few😳, hush puppies-good, 10 piece fish, no drinks = $23.00💰💰💰cash cow with no manners or quality service. i

this place is under the intracoastal causeway. we try to always stop here when we are headed to the national seashore. the food is incredibly fresh and reasonably priced in comparison to most of your island dining choices. it never disappoints. the menu primarily consist of fried foods but they have a delicious spicy shrimp over rice with veggies option. if your kids don't like shrimp orfishtheir only options are a burger or a girl cheese! however do your best to get them to try yourfishor shrimp because it's far different from what you get out of yellow bag from the grocery store freezer! our family of five with stuff for under $60 including drinks & one beer.

it's heaven!!!. i'm so in love with snoopys and scoopys!!!!! we made our first trek there last night based on reviews i saw elsewhere.we are here on business and after a very disappointing visit to a diner down the street from our hotel room( the omni if anyone cares to avoid the unnamed diner) i decided saturday's dinner needed to be on point......snoopys delivered on all points!!!!! after growing up on the gulf coast i know my fresh seafood and how it should be done and so does snoopys.....we hadfishand chips, fried shrimp with onion rings, hush puppies and coleslaw.we topped it off with a delicious lemon cake and tres leches( not leches i'm used to-was more a yummy strawberry shortcake) the only thing i didn't care for was the coleslaw-vinegar and poppyseed combo that doesn't work for me but with everything else being so perfect it's easy to move on.will make this a must when in town!!!

1. they accept credit cards now. 2. you people who have said you don't like this place are all about air conditioning, "fresh"fishaka....not fried, beer on tap....and wait staff to wipe your mouths for you! this is a family owned original fried shrimp, fish, and seafood restaurant. 3. it's on the beach! so it's not a "fine dining" kinda place! 4. old history is hung on the walls ....you should take a note or two on it! 5. when i visit corpus my trip is not complete until i have had my handmade fried shrimp and fried okra with a beer! lighten up or stay with your modern frozen meals....heated up for you, served on a fancy plate....that you paid double in price vs. what you would at snoopy's.

hands down my favorite place on the island maybe all of corpus. bestfishand chips i have ever had, shrimp sandwich is off the hook, specials are always excellent, heck even their hamburgers are very good. honestly how can you complain eating a pound of boiled shrimp ( that are at a fair price) and drinking a cold carona looking out across the bay. simply the best imo
