skipper's fish fry

if you are looking forfreshseafood and a casual dining experience this is the best i've found in the cary/apex/holly springs area. the fish is always fresh. crab is good. wide selection. i eat here whenever i'm in the area.

3-2017 update: wow food suddenly has become very greasy. somehow they lost a step. i noticed pre cooked food which i think is the problem. maybe a new cook? shortcut to save time instead of cooking fresh. not that good at this time. really bummed because it used to be excellent.

where do i start?! from the moment we walked in we were greeted and welcomed with a huge smile. this was our first time here and boy let me tell you it's definitely not our last. my boyfriend and i ordered the flounder platter and fish tacos. sooooo yummy!!!! the fish is sofreshand crispy! i seriously cannot wait to go back and try everything on the menu. the price is great for the awesome size portions we got. total of $15 and change for dinner is great!! love love love this place! customer service is amazing. i couldn't be happier to support this local restaurant.

best seafood in town. i eat here all the time. i've never had anything that wasn't delicious. the fish tacos are the great. i love the big fish sandwich. scallops are my favorite and they are always good. if you wantfreshseafood, that's not greasy, and enough to fill you up, you can't beat this place.

yum!. i got caught in apex in an overnight for work. looking for something close to my hotel, i stumbled into skippers. i got the fish tacos, and to my surprise, they were great! granted, this place is no cabo fish taco (charlotte, nc), but it was really good. the tacos were fried cod and came with shredded cabbage and afreshpico de gallo, and a little slice offreshlime to squeeze on it, which i took advantage of. a little beer was the perfect compliment, and made for a great meal. if you are expecting a high end seafood place, this aint it. this is a good old fashioned fried fish place with reasonably priced food, but much better tasting than most fried fish. ok, now to the con - the counter staff was miserably inexperienced, and seemed clueless. i watched as they struggled to figure out who's food was who's and which one of them should take it to the table. i'm glad mine was take-out. other than that, this place was a nice find

get the cod or haddock. i haven't ventured to far on the menu, usually getting the "fish sandwich" which isfreshcod or haddock depending on what they can get. it has never disappointed! other than that, i get the frankfurter or coneys from hoffman. if you've never had one, do yourself a favor. you may never want another hot dog again!
