greasy- gross. i've been here only once and can't ever imagine returning. i'm not sure what some consider good seafood, but i just don't like my fish buried in batter and fried beyond recognition. the grease was unbelievable- mainly because i think the batter was so thick. not to my taste at all.

i've only had their fish and chips, and the quality of the fish was far above and beyond my expectations. fries and hush puppies were adequate. i will be back for the exceptional quality of the fish for sure. you can order by phone and pick up at the window, which is great for this unshowered busy mama.

don't like it, find some place else.. was expecting great seafood after hearing everyone talk about this place and was very disappointed. ordered a combo platter and received a plate of over battered, greasy fish. the catfish was full of bones, very thin and over cooked. the scallops are small and bounced higher than most rubber balls. the place could also use a good cleaning, we had lots of trash and spoiled food under our table. plus we had to ask for a rag to clean off our own table. i would keep looking for a better seafood place, as this is not one of them.

if you are looking for fresh seafood and a casual dining experience this is the best i've found in the cary/apex/holly springs area. the fish is always fresh. crab is good. wide selection. i eat here whenever i'm in the area.

3-2017 update: wow food suddenly has become very greasy. somehow they lost a step. i noticed pre cooked food which i think is the problem. maybe a new cook? shortcut to save time instead of cooking fresh. not that good at this time. really bummed because it used to be excellent.

we went to skipper's not knowing what to expect and we are glad we have it a try. the food was really good at a price you can not beat. we are there inside where it was small, but big enough and clean. if you want good seafood in apex give skipper's at try. you won't be sorry! we will be back for sure!

where do i start?! from the moment we walked in we were greeted and welcomed with a huge smile. this was our first time here and boy let me tell you it's definitely not our last. my boyfriend and i ordered the flounder platter and fish tacos. sooooo yummy!!!! the fish is so fresh and crispy! i seriously cannot wait to go back and try everything on the menu. the price is great for the awesome size portions we got. total of $15 and change for dinner is great!! love love love this place! customer service is amazing. i couldn't be happier to support this local restaurant.

wow i read these outdated reviews, so inaccurate! hubby and i popped in for a bd lunch and was pleasantly surprised! 
we recently moved from charleston, sc and thought would never find freshly prepared seafood again. 
amazing, lightly breaded large, mild moist fish on the sandwich, tender grilled blackened scallops and shrimp for me.
it's counter order, and freshly prepared. 
we will be back and hopeful more folks are aware of this best kept secret in apex!

this place is awesome. they're just what you expect, but better. everything is homemade, the owner was friendly and generous and everyone had something they loved for lunch! they had a nice draft beer selection ( though we were here too early on a sunday to enjoy it). love that you can get things grilled or blackened instead of fried. excellent reports on the blackened fish sandwich, grilled mahi-mahi tacos, gigantic fried fish sandwich, cole slaw, and onion rings. we're so excited to have discovered a great new place to go! the integrity of the food is much appreciated.

great lunch deals. the lunch deals are amazing. the price includes a drink. the portions are pretty good for lunch and great considering the price. the catfish is really good.

not sure where brian f ate, but this place is amazing. obviously all fresh ingredients. huge portions! fish is lightly breaded and obviously cod. will go back again!!

heavily breaded, cornbread style coating with some kind of fish inside. it reminded me of a corn dog at the state fair, except not as good. if fish encased in thick breeding is your thing, it's probably good. if you like calabash style seafood, this is not your place.

awesome !!!. skipper's is great. 1st the food is awesome. 2nd the prices are awesome. 3rd the staff is duper friendly. i'm a snob when it comes to fried seafood... so i promise you won't be disappointed when visiting skipper's fish fry market.

good old fashioned fish fry. you know that fish place you go to at the beach, where you go up to the counter and order you plate and the fry it right then and there, it's so good and so reasonably priced that you make it point to go every time you go to the beach. you know the place i'm talking about...

well you don't have to wait to go to the beach to get that anymore. skipper's is local, just as good if not better, and much cleaner.

needs some improving. the building was hit by a delivery truck almost two years ago, looks the owner is finally doing repairs. not sure why he waited so long but i question what else does he cut corners on? was there last week and the week before that it seems the girls at the front taking orders are more interested in playing on their phones texting, and the older gentlemen from the back that wears a blue apron is either on his cell phone or bringing in coffee or hot chocolate form dunkin donuts. there was an older lady that was walking with a cane that needed help comming in and none of the staff helped her? last three months it seems that staff has changed and it is not for the better. going to see if i can send monica from wral pay them a visit.
