sisters of the new south

we took a detour from our trip to florida to stop in to thesisters of the new south. the atmosphere was humble, with a "welcome to the south" feel. the food was okay. the zomato reviews were a bit deceiving. i got the smothered pork chops, they were thinkin and dry. the greens were too sweet. the mashed potatoes were okay. my kids didn't even like the mac and cheese. the fried chicken was really good. the oxtails were really fatty. basically the food was home cooking. not exceptionally good home cooking, but just everyday just got home from work cooking.

disgusted. i went tosisterson skidaway and it was horrible. the service was terrible. the workers were very short and rude. the atmosphere was not welcoming. it was dark and nasty. and the food... the food looked dried up and nasty. the okra and tomatoes looked like it had been sitting for days. my experience was disgusting and upsetting. i will not return.

we love thesistersand you will too.. why struggle at home trying to make authentic southern fried chicken and soul food when you can just go over to the sisters. thesistersknow what southern fried chicken is all about, they know the fix’ns. you could never make what they make. just go and enjoy. the one on skidaway is the best. we love the sisters.

best soul food place in ga!!. i've been tosistersoften! it's one of the best places i've been to and have plans to come again. i drive to savannah just for sisters! !

horrible experience!!!. were back home now from vacationing in savannah. we decided to go tosistersfor lunch at which was suggested by my sister who lives there.
we ordered the chicken plate with the 2 sides and few other meals (rate it 4 out of 10 ), the chicken was the only thing that was enjoyed.
my little girl wanted another chicken leg so i ordered it, before she could eat it the waitress cleared the table off.
when i bought it to the attention of the cashier she gave off a attitude ;wasn't customer service freindly even before this event took place - needless to say my little girl never received her chicken ( they never replaced it) after trashing it!!!
i'm really not upset about the chicken but very disapointed with there customer service skills asked where the bathroom was she abruptly said behind you ( if you had a sign on the door saying restroom people won't ask) and the food was horribe.......
take the kids to mc'donalds at least there friendly lol

the food is amazing. the food at thesistersof the new south in savannah georgia is the best soul food restaurant in the world, adrian's in madison is the first best,sistersof the new south is the second. their red velvet cake will make you reach back and slap the slave master. i mean these women can cook, this was the second time my husband and i ate their and we loved it. there was this white lady there and yes i am white myself that was some what rude, they need to get rid of her for sure. but, the food was wonderful will have you licking your finger tips. will be going again just as soon as we are back in savannah georgia.

the real deal southern style meal. when you enter the establishment, do not be deterred by the appearance of the interior or exterior, it has no bearing on the quality of the food, which is outstanding! if you're new to savannah, and have a desire for real southern cuisine, then you must trysistersof the new south restaurant. paula deen cannot compete with the authenticity of sisters. the price of a meal is fair for the amount of food served. the employees were very friendly and the service was quick, even with the long line. plenty of parking, and they have a shuttle bus!

wonderful!! what a great find!!!!.sistersfrom the new south was an amazing spot!!! if you want real downtown southern food this is the spot for you.we went in on a saturday afternoon around 1:00-1:30, we had no wait, however now that i have been there i would wait for that homemade southern food anyday of the week. people came in get they're food, eat and head out so the wait would not be long.the food was so good,they have a bunch of sides so you pick your meat and i got chickhen(two die for)so moist and not a bit greasey, you also get cornbread... the sides change daily. it is a must do in savannah!!!!!
