verygoodfood! being italian i can honestly say i've never had soul food, but i know now what all the hype is about! it was a little intimidating at first. i wasn't sure how they were set up. i'm from out if town and bought a groupon for my trip. it was a little out of the way, but worth it! wonderful southern food and waitress in the back was the sweetest thing and very attentive, even though she was by herself. food is a little salty. just don't need to add any ;)

local food. this is an inexpensive place that you have to look for to find. if you are looking for a fine dining restaurant this is not it. it is great food at agoodprice.

the food is traditional southern including oxtails. it is served cafeteria style but they have a dining area next to kitchen. the food is seasoned, not just dumped out of the can. try the smothered shrimp.

inconsistent product, poor customer service, overly priced slop. i have gone to this restaurant at different times of the day (breakfast, late lunch, and dinner). the food is very inconsistent as it relates to taste, quality and quantity. however, the over pricing is consistent as well as the poor customer service. once, i called in an order for breakfast, and i received cold grits and eggs, and pancakes...you guessed it without the syrup. i went back in to obtain some syrup, but the young lady, who had been standing around talking to another worker and to anyone else that would listen about the owner, didn't have any portioned out in the to go cups. to make matters worse, she proceeded to completely, and i mean completely stock up the syrup before just giving me a couple of cups. next, i brought my sister, an out of town visitor, to the restaurant. we wanted some soul food. oh my gawd, she didn't eat the chicken or much of anything else, and my kids didn't even want it. the oxtails were like oxtail slop, and they only gave you few small pieces swimming (no drowning in liquid). to end on a somewhat positive note, the cake isgood(over priced, but good), and the lemonade isgood( a little too sweet, but good). i have attended the one in savannah in hopes it was better, and i politely turned around without ordering. the restaurant looked untidy and the greeter's attitude was less than inviting. other than the one visit to the savannah location, my experiences have all been in pooler, georgia.

saw a huge dead roach by front door-smells a little moldy. so we left without eating. really wanted to try it after seeing all thegoodreviews. i’m all for a down home experience, being from sc but no thank you!

we took a detour from our trip to florida to stop in to the sisters of the new south. the atmosphere was humble, with a "welcome to the south" feel. the food was okay. the zomato reviews were a bit deceiving. i got the smothered pork chops, they were thinkin and dry. the greens were too sweet. the mashed potatoes were okay. my kids didn't even like the mac and cheese. the fried chicken was really good. the oxtails were really fatty. basically the food was home cooking. not exceptionallygoodhome cooking, but just everyday just got home from work cooking.

great meats, great sides and not sogoodbeverages... they rocked the ribs and oxtail not to mention the black eyed peas, collards and well, all of the sides we tried. the lemonade was kool-aid and they don't have beer. well worth a visit.

great place. i love this place. the experience was awesome... the food wasgoodi plan on cumming back... to this place again one day.. u guys are great...thanks you my 4th of july was the best..... savannah is beautiful place

amazing food!!!!. first off i'd like to say after reading these other reviews it's really makes me angry, if you are not looking for salty, buttery, and down right greasy soul food then don't go! the food at this place is awesome! my wife, daughter and i go every chance we get and the hamburger steak is to die for, the mac and cheese well let's just say i could eat a plate of it by itself! the service is great, it is a little pricey but you get what you pay for! keep up thegoodwork and i recommend this place to anyone, pooler location!!

the food wasgoodbut too salty. staff was not friendly. restroom was filthy with no soap or sign to direct customer where it is located.

what a gem!. we recently drove from kentucky to florida and back again, traveling through savannah to take in some of the sights. we found "sisters" on this website, saw it hadgoodreviews, and decided to give it a try. it was the best meal we had during the whole trip! i got hamburger steak with green beans, sweet potatoes, and yellow rice. every bite was bliss! i had red velvet cake for dessert and it was scrumptious. i look forward to returning and sampling their other offerings.

awesome southern food! great experience, extremely friendly staff. highly recommend for somegoodsouthern soul food!

just okay. we went at noon this past monday, waitress was delightful, and we certainly don't mind 'cafeteria' style. however, all of our food was just lukewarm (we were offered a quick heat-up in a microwave!), so my critique reflects that - fried chicken breast was good, thigh (my personal fav) not so good; collardsgoodbut not great, a bit too vinegary, sweet potatoes delicious, oxtails good, i'm from up north and we make our mac&cheese with a roux, not cheese melted onto overcooked pasta, but maybe that is a southern thing - i tried the biscuit - my grandma's were better, i thought they were a bit flat tasting. having said all of this, after seeing the offerings at pd lady&sons (and for a lot more money) these 2 places are neck and neck in terms of what they serve and the quality, so absolutely try the place, but don't expect amazing southern cooking, and you may be pleasantly surprised (as long as it's hot when you get it)

food was excellent . real southern cooking , breakfast rice was reallygood& i've never had biscuits like the ones they have .

this restaurant is fantastic. true southern cooking. the food is seasoned very well and the bahama mama punch is so sweet andgoodi had to get 4 refills. they have large
portions that will really fill you up. i had the green beans, dressing and yellow rice w/smothered pork chops. the green beans were seasoned very well and the meat in the dressing was so tender & flavorful. the pork chops were tender but were not seasoned as much as i would like. my husband had the greens, mac n cheese, yellow rice w/turkey wings and a couple of pieces of fried chicken. the entire meal was to die for. entire meal was seasoned to perfection & the meats were tender & flavorful. overall, this place is great!!!! can't wait to be in the area again!!!

really, reallygoodamazing food!!!. first of all, i admit i am a food snob and am rarely impressed, but holy cow this was somegoodfood. i wanted to try this on another trip to savannah, but we weren't able to. however, this was the first stop we made on our last trip. it was off the beaten path which i could appreciate. the food was just so good. it almost brought a tear to my eye because it reminded me of growing up and going to my grandmother's house for sunday dinner. the rice was seasoned really well, the sweet potatoes were great, the butter beans were cooked just right and seasoned perfectly. i got the oxtail which i had never had before. it was amazing!! i loved it. the portions were generous. i was disappointed because i hoped they would have collards, but there were many other options. the wait staff was very sweet and they were all very welcoming. the only slight disappointment was the mac & cheese. i just prefer a little more sharpness to my cheese and because of that it was a little milder than i normally would prefer. the cornbread muffin was very good. it was the sweet yellow kind. overall, it was a great start to our weekend and i would definitely go out of my way to go here again. you have to try it, it was that good!
