i can't believe that i lived here for 10 years, and i didn't try this place for the first time, until friday. i probably could have used a little of this soul food while i was living here. will be back!! the owner was even on a local food network! thefriedchicken was devine.

we took a detour from our trip to florida to stop in to the sisters of the new south. the atmosphere was humble, with a "welcome to the south" feel. the food was okay. the zomato reviews were a bit deceiving. i got the smothered pork chops, they were thinkin and dry. the greens were too sweet. the mashed potatoes were okay. my kids didn't even like the mac and cheese. thefriedchicken was really good. the oxtails were really fatty. basically the food was home cooking. not exceptionally good home cooking, but just everyday just got home from work cooking.

main course options aren't too appealing except thefriedchicken. the sides are amazing, especially the mac-n-cheese. the corn bread that comes with the meal is absolutely amazing though. i would go just for the corn bread! decent amount of food for price

we love the sisters and you will too.. why struggle at home trying to make authentic southernfriedchicken and soul food when you can just go over to the sisters. the sisters know what southernfriedchicken is all about, they know the fix’ns. you could never make what they make. just go and enjoy. the one on skidaway is the best. we love the sisters.

okay food, lousy service. we're visiting from out of town and my son suggested sisters. even at the height of he dinner hour the food on the cafeteria-style serving line didn't look fresh. it looked like it had been set on warm for quite a while before being brought out. in fairness, the freshfriedchicken and grilled tilapia entrees my family ordered was cooked very well. the smothered pork chops i ordered went the opposite in quality and taste. however, the worst aspect of dining there was the dining room server. she had the simple task of giving the diners their beverages, refilling the beverages, and getting already paid-for desserts. after getting our drinks we spoke to the server twice more; once to request drink refills and once to request the dessert my wife purchased when we initially came through the line. after waiting for over 10 minutes for drinks which never materialized, i went up front to the cashier to obtain the refills myself. the server also never appeared with my wife's dessert and my granddaughter went to the manager, who finally brought it. this is one place in savannah i'll never eat again.

i came here on a recommendation. the food was decent, but the service was terrible. first, they ran out of mac n cheese and told me i would have to wait 30 min. instead i got some other sides that were tasty but heavy on the butter for my palat. i chosefriedchicken as my meat and there was only dark meat available. my friend only eats white meat and she was told it would be 2 mins. she waited for about 20 mins, asked our waitress, and they still forgot. other people around us were served white meat. question of the afternoon... who runs this place?!

like my grandma's house. thefriedchicken is supposed to be amazing, and that must be true because they've been out every time i've gone there. the other meat options aren't very exciting, but i love the side dishes. like my grandma, they always have four or five different veggies, and they're all delicious. we aren't talking vegan/health food here - i'm pretty sure pork fat makes its way into most offerings.

just ate here for first time today, and it was excellent. wife and i hadfriedand baked chicken, mac and cheese, collards, string beans, lima beans, and dressing with gravy. everything was awesome. i would definitely go back if i'm in savannah again.

just okay. we went at noon this past monday, waitress was delightful, and we certainly don't mind 'cafeteria' style. however, all of our food was just lukewarm (we were offered a quick heat-up in a microwave!), so my critique reflects that -friedchicken breast was good, thigh (my personal fav) not so good; collards good but not great, a bit too vinegary, sweet potatoes delicious, oxtails good, i'm from up north and we make our mac&cheese with a roux, not cheese melted onto overcooked pasta, but maybe that is a southern thing - i tried the biscuit - my grandma's were better, i thought they were a bit flat tasting. having said all of this, after seeing the offerings at pd lady&sons (and for a lot more money) these 2 places are neck and neck in terms of what they serve and the quality, so absolutely try the place, but don't expect amazing southern cooking, and you may be pleasantly surprised (as long as it's hot when you get it)

this restaurant is fantastic. true southern cooking. the food is seasoned very well and the bahama mama punch is so sweet and good i had to get 4 refills. they have large
portions that will really fill you up. i had the green beans, dressing and yellow rice w/smothered pork chops. the green beans were seasoned very well and the meat in the dressing was so tender & flavorful. the pork chops were tender but were not seasoned as much as i would like. my husband had the greens, mac n cheese, yellow rice w/turkey wings and a couple of pieces offriedchicken. the entire meal was to die for. entire meal was seasoned to perfection & the meats were tender & flavorful. overall, this place is great!!!! can't wait to be in the area again!!!
