silantro fil-mex

i've been here 3 times and it's still one of the best go-to places for a fil-mex fix. everything's super savory and their nachos and paella will leave you wanting for more. if only my stomach is a bottomless pit, i'd order 3 of each. hay, sarap! 😋

by the way, line is pretty long all thetimebut it's totally worth it.

tried this place for the fourth time, first few times were okay. this time, we got the beef nachos, rib fingers and burger. got waitlisted but also seated after 20 mins. beef nachos was served fast for starter, serving was generous for two and got our waitingtimefor the mains unnoticed. didn't also finish it, had the left over for take out. rib fingers will be cooked depending on your choice, served with mashed potato on a sizzling plate. serving was good for two, taste was fine unlike other ribs which has sweetness. burger was superb for its price which is just 180, tasted good. service was not so great, we were seated outside, had to call the attention of the servers several times. my friend also stood up and looked for a server to ask for water refill. they were full house though. it is understandable for them to be busy but not for guests to be neglected.

been to silantro so many times, often in kapitolyo and uptc. everytimei have my friends in town, this place is without a doubt the resto i always recommend. fast, affordable, approachable servers and yummy dishes!

tried most, if not all, from the menu and these are my faves:
beef nachos
beef quesadillas
lamb chop

the place is rather small, so during peak hours prepare to wait for at least an hour! and parking is limited. the place is very friendly to pets too.

to be honest, the first experience i had with silantro wasn't pleasant. as always, the queue was so long, that we had to wait almost two hours just to be seated. it didn't help that the paella took forever to be served (we attempted to cancel the order but they insisted that it was on its way), and was lackluster in terms of taste and presentation. the only saving grace was the beef nachos as it was a meal on its own. but it wasn't enough to wow me in any way.

after that experience, i told my boyfriend never to bring me there again! haha

but when we dined here for a second time, i can say i may understand the hype now.

like a miracle, there was no queue when we came in. we ordered the beef nachos again, and, thistimearound, two soft tacos each. our orders were served pretty fast.

- beef nachos: this was excellent. all ingredients were fresh or made to order. i like how they deep fried the corn tortillas instead of using generic ones. they didn't skimp on the beef. and as you can see in the photo, they used real cheese which they blowtorched!

- tacos (ligero): i had one of each: beef and lamb. beef was really good, while the lamb was okay. for php 85 a taco, the serving was huuuge. i could've just eaten one and would be satisfied already.

i like how the servers were attentive during the entire dining experience. we didn't have to call their attention to refill our drinks or sauces. however, it did take awhile for them to give us or bill and change, but that's already nitpicking on my end.

overall, the second visit was enough to make me a silantro convert. just don't make me line up for two hours again! 🤣

siantro’s food are all good and actually cheap. try their burrito and nachos, its cheap and yummy.

crews were attentive and accommodating. most of thetimesilantro is full and customers will wait outside for their sits but thats not a prob since its inside a mall and you can roam around while waiting😉

it was our firsttimein silantro located at up town center and it's superb! the food are so delicious and worth the price. we ordered nachos, paella chicken wings and steak. we went there on a saturday around 4pm and still jam-packed! we are number 10 in waiting list but we don't mind. 😀 i just hope they will open a branch in trinoma. 🙏

the best filmex resto for the taste and value for money. servings are generous and their prices are so much more than reasonable. their nachos are the crowd drawer. the callente wings are great as well. burritos and nachos are one of the best in town too. a word of caution however to those who plan to eat there on weekends: waitingtimeis minimum 1.5 hours. lasttimewe were there, it was a 2-hour wait. tip: have your name listed and and do your shopping or window shopping after and check every 15-20 minuntes how fast the list is being cleared. make sure you dont miss your number. i would have given a rating of 5.0 if not for the outrageous waiting time. hope they get to expand their space to be able to accomodate more diners.

waitingtime- around 20-30 minutes during lunch time
food - nachos and buffalo wings were good. didn't like the quesadilla, the filing, cheese and bread were not a perfect match for each other. it tasted as if there was a missing ingredient on it.
ambience - nice for a lunch talk with your friends.

its just funny that people use utensils for nachos which is supposed to be a finger food.

the delivery quality is so terrible. we used to eat at silantro all thetimeso we expected the delivery version of it to be somewhat close to it. but it was was very terrible.

here are the reasons why:
1. beef nachos - there was no cheese and very few beef chunks in it.
2. soft tacos - it was soaking in oil that i can barely lift the taco up. it was like eating a sludge.
3. paella - some of the shells didnt have actual mussels inside. just rice. also just one shrimp and one super soggy soaked in oiled wrap.

feels like we wasted money.

always our go- to place for meal. you just have to endure the long waitingtimebecause this is really jampacked especially during dinner. thankfully they are open now for dine in.

this is our go to place when in uptc but just make sure you havetimebecause the queue is usally long. patience is needed and make sure you are not super hungry yet.

staff are very accomodating and courteous. servingtimeis reasonable and so is the price and serving size.

i still recall the firsttimei tried silantro  some two years ago at  its kapitolyo branch which was near our abode. it was first son's birthday and  i made him choose the restaurant where we can have lunch in. of  all the options available to us, he chose silantro and my curiosity was piqued. previous to that i have seen the queue at that particular restaurant at what seemed to me was all hours of the day.

firsttimehere and the nachos did not disappoint. we ordered it twice! everything is fairly priced. no wonder lines are always long outside. i am also surprised by the simplicity of their menu. the only sad thing is that they do not serve alcohol because they’re located next to a church.

ordered hard tacos and waited for 25 minutes and they came back and said they don’t have hard tacos. thirdtimei’ve been here and they ran out of tacos.
