silantro fil-mex

i've been here 3 times and it's still one of the best go-to places for a fil-mex fix. everything's super savory and their nachos andpaellawill leave you wanting for more. if only my stomach is a bottomless pit, i'd order 3 of each. hay, sarap! 😋

by the way, line is pretty long all the time but it's totally worth it.

to be honest, the first experience i had with silantro wasn't pleasant. as always, the queue was so long, that we had to wait almost two hours just to be seated. it didn't help that thepaellatook forever to be served (we attempted to cancel the order but they insisted that it was on its way), and was lackluster in terms of taste and presentation. the only saving grace was the beef nachos as it was a meal on its own. but it wasn't enough to wow me in any way.

after that experience, i told my boyfriend never to bring me there again! haha

but when we dined here for a second time, i can say i may understand the hype now.

like a miracle, there was no queue when we came in. we ordered the beef nachos again, and, this time around, two soft tacos each. our orders were served pretty fast.

- beef nachos: this was excellent. all ingredients were fresh or made to order. i like how they deep fried the corn tortillas instead of using generic ones. they didn't skimp on the beef. and as you can see in the photo, they used real cheese which they blowtorched!

- tacos (ligero): i had one of each: beef and lamb. beef was really good, while the lamb was okay. for php 85 a taco, the serving was huuuge. i could've just eaten one and would be satisfied already.

i like how the servers were attentive during the entire dining experience. we didn't have to call their attention to refill our drinks or sauces. however, it did take awhile for them to give us or bill and change, but that's already nitpicking on my end.

overall, the second visit was enough to make me a silantro convert. just don't make me line up for two hours again! 🤣

i am so inlove with silantros nachos! will surely boost your appetite and prepare you for your main dish. my mom and i hadpaellaand rib eye steak. this is one of must try restaurant in kapitolyo indeed!

silantro used to be one of my favorites. this is purely based from my last dining experience.
quesadilla wasnt the same anymore, fries were useless, the sauces were still good though!
the wings for me downgraded with the taste, the porkchops were good!
lambchops, same with the wings, downgraded but it was still good, just too much litid.
avocado shake was really good! thepaellawas really bad for me, it was really bad.
service was great though!
will be coming back still.

my friends and i ordered theirpaellaand beef nachos which should be the must try dishes on their menu. perfectly cooked and the salsa on the nachos were really good. this place is always packed though so make sure to make a reservation to avoid waiting too long.

edit: zomato says they're cash only but they do accept cards now.

it was our first time in silantro located at up town center and it's superb! the food are so delicious and worth the price. we ordered nachos,paellachicken wings and steak. we went there on a saturday around 4pm and still jam-packed! we are number 10 in waiting list but we don't mind. 😀 i just hope they will open a branch in trinoma. 🙏

very very very long line (it took us 2 hours and a half just to be seated!!!) but hey they got the best nachos and condiments ever!!! also,paellais also good and price is just right. it's just the line just to be seated is very long :"""""( (always)

the delivery quality is so terrible. we used to eat at silantro all the time so we expected the delivery version of it to be somewhat close to it. but it was was very terrible.

here are the reasons why:
1. beef nachos - there was no cheese and very few beef chunks in it.
2. soft tacos - it was soaking in oil that i can barely lift the taco up. it was like eating a sludge.
3.paella- some of the shells didnt have actual mussels inside. just rice. also just one shrimp and one super soggy soaked in oiled wrap.

feels like we wasted money.

silantro is like your hole in the wall that’s a staple on the weekends. people flock for the burritos (beef) and nachos.paellarice needs to be improved though - more seafood please (not just shrimp heads).

definitely the best restaurant for us! we tried their branches in up town center and in laguna but their kapitolyo branch is the best so far. been coming here almost every week on my days off. legit burrito and caliente wings and theirpaellais so good too. highly recommended.

nachos- although they used melted cheese i still prefer the usual cheese sauce used for it

it is hard to rate this place since it is its own unique thing. it is definitely not mexican or even tex mex. we ordered the beef quesadilla, the silantro burrito, and seafood paella.

the quesadilla was quite odd. it didn’t taste bad but it was more creamy than cheesy. it was stuffed with filling and tasted more like a chicken pot pie filling or even carbonara.

the seafoodpaellawas good and everything was cooked just right. shrimp were fat and juicy and calamari rings tender. it seems like the rice they use in thepaellais the same one in the burrito.

last but not least the silantro burrito. (not pictured) which we ate later because we were stuffed from the other two items we ordered. the burrito was good and had ample filling. it was very meaty which we liked.

we also like how they gave plenty of sauce. their homebrew sauces are a nice touch.

long line is worth the wait, however their..
calliente wings - seems to change taste. it became bland and watery unlike before. did you change the ingredients and spice? i prefer of you just increase the price but not the taste.

quesadillas. i like it cheesy but not too cheesy. in the end nakakaumay. but the fries it's surprisingly good.

nachos - big servings with loaded of cheese. best nachos i had so far.

seafoodpaella- its okay. but i suggest you order it when you are super duper hungry.

staff is okay for me. attentive even with a lot of people.

still give 4.5☆☆☆☆
