we dined at the sheesh mahal and we’re recommended lal maas and garlic naan. the flavour was outstanding and the best one i’ve had in udaipur. the views were great. mr. bhanu served us and was extremely helpful. hemadesure we were comfortable and also briefed us about the restaurant. mr. shamsher was very kind to prepare and tell
us about the meal. mr. bhanu also arranged for a birthday cake for my sister and surprised us with it. there was also amazing zafrani rasmalai.

the service and the staff was impeccable. everything was outstanding and definitely going to return for the hospitality & food.

giving it a 3 star just because of the goof up they made. imadethe reservation in advance and wasn't told to carry any id card. upon reaching, we were stopped at the security and asked to produce our respective ids, that too hard copy.
i blasted their manager over the call and was allowed to enter after wasting my 30 minutes at the entrance gate and multiple arguments.
like seriously? why would a guest carry an id card when they're just heading out for lunch. we were not the check-in guests. moreover, it should've communicated before when imadethe reservation and even their zomato handle do not show any such rules.
anyway coming to food, it's a bit bland i feel. maybe because to accommodate the foreigners taste but the fact is indians visit this hotel more than the foreigners. so the taste should be according to indian standards.
overall, the waiters are courteous and tried their best to serve us well.
soup was the only good thing in the menu that i like and everything else was extremely bland.
ambience is the only thing that makes up everything. rest i found everything to be normal.

we looked up lake view restaurants in udaipur and found sheesh mahal to be the ideal place looking at the pictures and reviews. wemadea reservation in advance (and i recommend to book a table before visiting).

to reach the hotel, we took the hotel boat from doodh talai which costs 200 rs + tax per person. i'm not sure if there's any other simpler way to reach the hotel. they check the ids before you board the boat so make sure to carry them.

the boat ride is a quick 10-min ride and offers great views of pichola lake. we went much after dark so couldn't see much. also, one should not take the old city route to reach doodh talai as it has extremely small roads and cars cannot cross them (we had to take an auto).

on reaching the palace, we were greeted and escorted to sheesh mahal. we were given a nice table just by the lake. the ambience was great. everything looked resplendent.

we quickly ordered our food - daal bati choorma, paneer makhani, breads and dahi ke kebab for starters. i loved the dahe ke kebabs and also the main course apart from daal bati which was pretty average.

we had no appetite left for dessert hence didn't try one. overall experience was great and totally worth it, even though it was quite expensive (says 2200 for 2 on zomato but shpuld be close to 5k for 2).

it was a perfect candlelight lakeside dinner with amazing views of taj lake palace, city palace, etc. we went back by the boat which dropped us to doodh talai, from where our car picked us up.

totally mesmerised by the beautiful location of this restaurant..a candle light dinner with a cool breeze by side of lake pichola with delectable rajasthani dishesmadeour dinner date,a truly magical experience..we opted the terrace for its privacy and in the backdrop of the beautiful city palace drenched in warm tones of amber lights, gorged our way through the delicious starters(tandoori broccoli, paneer and dahi kebab ),dal makhani, lal maas, chicken encased with mirchi and achari beans, makki ki roti, bajre ki roti ,rabrietc..mr .suryapal singh ,who waited on us guided us through the range of rajasthani dishes and wonderful tales of local folkore.a big shout out to chef rupak and his team for the delightful experience.highly recommended.

i forgot the names of the dishes..the staff guided us through the menu and we are thankful for the same..

as the name says, the leela palace it’s in itself one of the best hotels to be in. the entire leela experience to celebrate my “first wedding anniversary” was awesome.
wemadereservation at this open air lake facing restaurant, thanks to mr. ramiz (butler manager, the leela) for recommending this outlet to have dinner on our anniversary. extended thanks to mr. sagar (the restaurant manager), who had reserved the best view table for the eve and also recommended the best local specialties and the drinks from the menu. i also extend my gratitude towards mr. ajith who took care of our table, as hemadesure the food served was warm in that freezing weather. each and every staff was so welcoming and smiling. altogether, it was memorable dinner with delicious food and a good staff whichmadethe evening worth it.

a lake view table, dim lights,an elegant ambience is what you will experience the time you step into this restaurant operated by the leela hotel. 4 different chutneys are served on every table before meal which are par excellent and the pineapple chutney is to die for. the best lal maas i ever had in my life, appetizers were upto the mark, madewith fresh and top quality ingredients that is what i felt in the first bite. though you may feel difficulty in finding reservation here and the bill may turn little heavy on pocket but the interactive chefs, happy stewards and a lady taking down the authentic rajasthani chapati makes this dinning a wonderful experience.
