i would highly recommend this place, not just forfoodbut ambience and hospitality too. worth every penny spent. we went here on our trip to udaipur for our anniversary and they made it special in every which way. chef special dal and lal maas are a must try. and do ask for a bajra roti with gud. you’ll love it for sure!!

this restaurant is just by the lake and gives a spectacular view. the hospitality is great.foodis good. must have dish is their verdure pizza, cooked to perfection.

worst service had to wait for 15 minutes for a bread...foodtaste was pathetic... gave 2 stars just for the view... not worth the price at all.. no taste no service... chef should taste wild berry icecream and watermelon and ginger sorbet himself and should decide whether it is edible or not. also who gives such small portion size ?? starters not enough even to feed a 8years old child... such a poor experience..

i loved the ambience of the place. great lake view dining, feels like having a floating dinner. thefoodwas expensive but totally worth it. really tasty food. specially the chicken bhuna masala. loved it so much.

so let's talk about sheesh mahal. i will quickly talk about what works.

now let's talk about the experience thats what we go to a place like this?

zomato readers please be aware they have a cover charge of 2500 per person. whether you orderfoodworth 2500 or not? i told them what if one doesn't have an appetite to eatfoodworth this amount they assured you would as price for each item is roughly 1500 still when our bill came we were billed for 1050 of unused amount ? so actual bill was less then 3950 plus cover charge of un used amount plus taxes.

now this is extortion, one doesn't mind paying for what you eat but putting an cover charge to an restaurant ? is not done period. been to michelin star restaurants it doesn't happen even there?

i think the reason i could fathom for this is they want to keep general public out of the premises so they keep ridiculous pricing policy at onset.

however i would forgive leela they have a monstrous task of debt restructuring may be someone felt ' wow this is a great idea'

but no, putting this chain off my corporate roster.

we looked up lake view restaurants in udaipur and found sheesh mahal to be the ideal place looking at the pictures and reviews. we made a reservation in advance (and i recommend to book a table before visiting).

to reach the hotel, we took the hotel boat from doodh talai which costs 200 rs + tax per person. i'm not sure if there's any other simpler way to reach the hotel. they check the ids before you board the boat so make sure to carry them.

the boat ride is a quick 10-min ride and offers great views of pichola lake. we went much after dark so couldn't see much. also, one should not take the old city route to reach doodh talai as it has extremely small roads and cars cannot cross them (we had to take an auto).

on reaching the palace, we were greeted and escorted to sheesh mahal. we were given a nice table just by the lake. the ambience was great. everything looked resplendent.

we quickly ordered ourfood- daal bati choorma, paneer makhani, breads and dahi ke kebab for starters. i loved the dahe ke kebabs and also the main course apart from daal bati which was pretty average.

we had no appetite left for dessert hence didn't try one. overall experience was great and totally worth it, even though it was quite expensive (says 2200 for 2 on zomato but shpuld be close to 5k for 2).

it was a perfect candlelight lakeside dinner with amazing views of taj lake palace, city palace, etc. we went back by the boat which dropped us to doodh talai, from where our car picked us up.

good ambition over priced staff is very goodfoodis average sheesh mahal view of pichola lake is really beautiful ,we had here for dinner in july 2019 ,over all not worht spending ,better go for dinner on other dinner

as the name says, the leela palace it’s in itself one of the best hotels to be in. the entire leela experience to celebrate my “first wedding anniversary” was awesome.
we made reservation at this open air lake facing restaurant, thanks to mr. ramiz (butler manager, the leela) for recommending this outlet to have dinner on our anniversary. extended thanks to mr. sagar (the restaurant manager), who had reserved the best view table for the eve and also recommended the best local specialties and the drinks from the menu. i also extend my gratitude towards mr. ajith who took care of our table, as he made sure thefoodserved was warm in that freezing weather. each and every staff was so welcoming and smiling. altogether, it was memorable dinner with deliciousfoodand a good staff which made the evening worth it.

i have been visited to this place a week ago to have its breakfast buffet.this place is awesome and the service which they provide you is 10/10 .thefoodis delicious and ambience is so good here. you can have more than 25+ dishes in breakfast.overall i can say it is must visit place if you are planning to visiting udaipur.

the view is just spellbound,foodis good, but once you are there you won’t concentrate on yourfoodrather the ambience. perfect dining location for couples.
we had dhaniya chicken, murgh mokul, non veg platter everything tasted good.
may be price is on the higher side, but then who cares you are with her, in leela, along the lake side it won’t get better.

visited this place on september 12 and just loved the overall experience. it serves only indianfoodand is on the costly side, but every penny spent is worth of it.

starter:

veg tandoori platter - we loved the overall taste and presentation.

main course:

palak mangodi - can't ask for more authentic taste. serving size - sufficient for 3-4 people.

dal makhani - one of the best dal makhani i ever had. serving size - sufficient for 1 person

yellow dal tadka - average taste. serving size - sufficient for 1 person.

cost - approx. 5k

staff was courteous and helped us with the portion size and other details about the dish.

i would like to thank mr. digvijay and mr. santosh from restaurant team to make our dining experience so delightful.

i read an article which stated that it is one among the top 10 romantic restaurants in india 🇮🇳 and honestly after visiting it i was completely in awe of the elegance and grandeur of the place, as much as i have seen with my own eyes this is the most romantic one indeed,food🥘 was mouthwatering although prices were on the higher side but made sense seeing the man made wonder kind of a place ... a perfect 👌 10/10

had been waiting for this one for a really long time, we had dinner and it was amazing the setup, the hotel, the service thefoodall of it was as spectacular as it can be, i was overwhelmed by the service, prices are on the higher side but once you are here it's all completely justified.... cost for 3 people for 3 course dinner set us back 8k but totally worth it

a world class destination dining experiences, overlooking the lake palace and the majestic city palace. the menu has some of their signature rajasthani / indian dishes, including lal maas to make selection easy. good quality and preparation but then, you are not there forfoodso enjoy and live the moment.
