sheesh mahal - the leela

i would highly recommend this place, not just for food butambienceand hospitality too. worth every penny spent. we went here on our trip to udaipur for our anniversary and they made it special in every which way. chef special dal and lal maas are a must try. and do ask for a bajra roti with gud. you’ll love it for sure!!

i loved theambienceof the place. great lake view dining, feels like having a floating dinner. the food was expensive but totally worth it. really tasty food. specially the chicken bhuna masala. loved it so much.

we looked up lake view restaurants in udaipur and found sheesh mahal to be the ideal place looking at the pictures and reviews. we made a reservation in advance (and i recommend to book a table before visiting).

to reach the hotel, we took the hotel boat from doodh talai which costs 200 rs + tax per person. i'm not sure if there's any other simpler way to reach the hotel. they check the ids before you board the boat so make sure to carry them.

the boat ride is a quick 10-min ride and offers great views of pichola lake. we went much after dark so couldn't see much. also, one should not take the old city route to reach doodh talai as it has extremely small roads and cars cannot cross them (we had to take an auto).

on reaching the palace, we were greeted and escorted to sheesh mahal. we were given a nice table just by the lake. theambiencewas great. everything looked resplendent.

we quickly ordered our food - daal bati choorma, paneer makhani, breads and dahi ke kebab for starters. i loved the dahe ke kebabs and also the main course apart from daal bati which was pretty average.

we had no appetite left for dessert hence didn't try one. overall experience was great and totally worth it, even though it was quite expensive (says 2200 for 2 on zomato but shpuld be close to 5k for 2).

it was a perfect candlelight lakeside dinner with amazing views of taj lake palace, city palace, etc. we went back by the boat which dropped us to doodh talai, from where our car picked us up.

i have been visited to this place a week ago to have its breakfast buffet.this place is awesome and the service which they provide you is 10/10 .the food is delicious andambienceis so good here. you can have more than 25+ dishes in breakfast.overall i can say it is must visit place if you are planning to visiting udaipur.

an amazing and spectacular luxury dining place in udaipur. don't miss whenever you explore the city! its an open air restaurant and it looks very awesome at night as it is surrounded by city palace, taj lake palace, jagmandir and oberoi udaivilas. all glittering lights and spectacularambiencemakes the dining memorable and romantic.
the food served was delicious with rajasthani touch and fresh spices just added values to it. the staff was so good and can do anything to meet the customers satisfaction. 
amazing food preparation. must try items are :- non veg platter, murgh makhni (cooked in rajasthani style)

the best restaurant in the town. you can't deny the fact you will surely find it better than the other fine dine restaurants be it any. the perfectambiencefor your date. food is perfectly blended in tastes promised in menu which is again rare to find. try their paneer in any form its succulent enough to melt in your mouth. their zafrani seekh kebab is another delicacy with perfect mix of flavours. it is worth spending every penny. and an effort enough to save to dine their.

udaipur is known as 'city of lakes' and most of the luxurious hotels are located by the lake.
leela is also located on the shores of lake pichola.

the food, staff, ambience, service, hospitality is to the perfection. when you step in this place guests are greeted with so much love and affection.

everything on the menu is so tasty. i have been here before a couple of time and had indian food. the indian food is very tasty from dal makani to their biryani everything is very tasty.

on my last visit we had continental food. the burger is served with chips and is so filling. it's enough for one person. the portion looks huge. the burger tasted nice.
we also ordered red sauce pasta, pizza and nachos. all of the food was very tasty.

theambiencehere so amazing. you can see the city palace and glimpse of old city.

the place is very expensive but it's worth coming here for the taste of food,ambienceand their hospitality.

you must definitely visit this place with family, friends or even a date.

totally recommended to atleast visit once!

a lake view table, dim lights,an elegantambienceis what you will experience the time you step into this restaurant operated by the leela hotel. 4 different chutneys are served on every table before meal which are par excellent and the pineapple chutney is to die for. the best lal maas i ever had in my life, appetizers were upto the mark, made with fresh and top quality ingredients that is what i felt in the first bite. though you may feel difficulty in finding reservation here and the bill may turn little heavy on pocket but the interactive chefs, happy stewards and a lady taking down the authentic rajasthani chapati makes this dinning a wonderful experience.
