serene place to enjoy japanese food. not too crowded, simple ambiance with a relaxing vibe. spicy salmon sashimi has the right combination offreshand clean taste.

the place for the freshest sashimi! i got the goten mori with 5 kinds of sashimi - salmon, bluefin tuna, tuna scallop and octopus. wow! sofreshand with all the natural taste of the seafood shining thru'.

next i had ume - chef's selection of assorted sushi. it comes with miso soup. again, excellent stuff!

situated in little tokyo, this is by far the best japanese sushi house i've ever eaten in in my life! it goes the modern route with modern chairs and tables and the traditional japanese horigotatsu (of which there are several booths), where the table is low to the ground that you have to sit on the floor.

their sashimi and sushi are the freshest i’ve ever tasted. they even have a japanese chef cutting up thefreshslabs of fish at the bar before serving it to you. go for their sashimi, sushi, and their chirashi, which is served with gohan. mmmmm!

i’ve only been here once but i can’t wait to go back.

this is my favourite restaurant in little tokyo. it is by far the cleanest in my opinion. their sashimi’s are alwaysfreshand their salmon is sweet! their wagyu cubes are just incomparable their soft and melts in your mouth. during lunch their offer really yummy and super sulit lunch bento specials! i always look forward to coming back!

kaisen gozen was insanely delicious! both quantity and quality of this lunch set was extremely satisfying! soup was amazing though it wasn't miso, so i don't know what to call it. the potato salad was terrific; i could taste kewpie! the 2 boxes filled with assorted generous servings of sashimi, veggies, and rice were veryfreshand delicious! even the slimy sea urchin is noteworthy!

budget here during lunch is near php500 but you get what you pay for. there's no service charge and they serve refillable hot or cold tea. restroom has an interesting toilet set-up. restaurant is well-known for sashimi so make sure your tummy has a bit of food before you start eating raw.

overall, this place is expensive but worth it and perfect for occasions and romantic dates, or regular casual visits if you have the purchasing power.

upon entering seryna, i got an instant, classic, japanese ambiance. the place was dimly lit; the servers wearing kimono dresses; and there were both regular and chabudai or short legged tables, where you can comfortably hang your feet below a hollow space.

the food was simply amazing. my friend and i ordered different sashimi, and they were allfreshand delicious. besides these, we also ordered sushi, soft tofu, buttered oysters, and the house sake.

the only thing i've got a complaint for is the temperature. although they had a fan beside our table, it was still a little bit hot, and upon asking our kind server, i was told that the air conditioning is usually weak. it's a good thing that it improved as the night progressed (perhaps the cold sake helped).

we were attended by different servers who seemed to know the menu, as they offered suggestions especially when some of my first options were out of stock already.

overall, i'd love to go back to seryna. it's a good place for either an intimate date or a fun meal with family or friends.

stopped by seryna for their sushi, but stayed for dinner instead. they really do have one of the best sushi in the area -freshand never frozen.

ordered a couple of other things too like ebi tempura and yakitori. there were so-so. the tempura was nicely cooked, but the shrimps were just way to small for its price. the yakitori was bland, and the beef tongue was particularly tough.

we came at around 8:30 pm and the restau was breaming with people in the know. its very feeling tokyo in a way except that you can order sushi, tempura, yakitiri in one roof. but tgey do it all well. we ordered the special sashimi platter with toro and all and it was oh so good and fresh. the sake was served very cold. the thing that was a bit of a letdown was that several of the dishes we ordered were already finished for the day. oh well it only goes to show everything isfreshdaily and we just have to come earlier.

our visit to seryna was a planned trip so we were able to reserved a few days before. as you know, meals in the little tokyo area require a reservation.

we were pretty overwhelmed with their extensive food choices. just like any other japanese meal, we started with a sashimi platter (san ten mori or 3 kinds of assorted sashimi). all types tastedfreshand the serving was just enough for 2-3 people. we also ordered 5pcs kushiyaki moriawase or grilled assorted skewers + buta bara or skewered pork belly. the platter mostly include different chicken parts. all the skewers (including the pork belly) were a bit dry. my friend also got chirashi sushi or sashimi mix on sushi rice. i didn’t like it because i’m not fond of eating sashimi with rice. we also ordered sushi but i forgot what it’s called. not sure if it’s salmon roll but it had salmon wrapped in it and grilled fish on top each piece. i like the taste and texture of the sushi and the grilled fish gives it a little crunch when you chew it. my friends ordered other dishes - eel and spicy salmon. despite eating a lot of different dishes, i’m still hungry so i ended up ordering ebi tempura and a cup of rice.

definitely one of the best places for sashimi in metro manila! their salmon was veryfreshand pretty generous. 😋

their katsudon and kakiage were also good, but very much overshadowed by the sashimi.

it was one of those days when i was just really craving for sashimi. since i worked in makati, the best option was to go where else but little tokyo.

i can say this place serves authentic japanese food due to the presence of many japanese people. i've never heard so much japanese language except when i'm watching anime.

enough about that, let's talk about the food. i ordered their san ten mori. it's 3 kinds of sashimi. salmon, maguro (tuna) and ika (squid). i love howfreshand how it melts in your mouth. the beef slices in their gyudon is juicy and tender. we also had their tempura (3pieces). all were fresh, and crispy to the tail.

we shell out 1k++ for just these 3 dishes. prices are a bit steep, but if you consider the place and the authenticity, it's worth it.

i first visited this little gem 5-6 years ago but all i could remember was that i was satisfied with my food and there were a lot of japanese who were also dining.
i decided to go back yesterday. my companion and i had a superb dinner.

here are our orders(for 2pax)
suno mono moriawase(assorted seafood in vinegar)
- i love howfreshthe seafood were. they changed the usual octopus to imported ones with extra charge. and it was worth it. i just think that the vinegar is a bit bland(but, that's just me because i like my vinegar to be really sour).

san ten mori(3 kinds of mori)
- consists of salmon, maguro and ika. i am so satisfied with this. they werefreshand delicious. you can actually distinguish the extraordinary texture inside your mouth.

jo salmon - specialfreshsalmon
- we actually ordered their ordinary salmon sashimi but it was sold out(we came in at almost 10pm) so we opted for this one. it is more expensive than the ordinary salmon sashimi but this is the best that i've tasted so far. i'm still daydreaming about this sashimi. still lingering on that taste, on that texture! writing about it makes me crave for more. 😨

-ordinary, nothing really special about it but yes, it was delicious. ordinary delicious. there are restaurants who serve better-tasting ones.

ambience and service:
it is amazing that they are able to maintain the place. it was as if you're dining in a restaurant in japan.
service was good. no complaints but at that time, the place was not packed.

must try. will come back for sure.

food: the food was really good. i don't think it was mind-blowing, but the fish was reallyfreshin the kaisen gozen, and my friend liked her tempura. i loved the clear soup that came with the kaisen gozen, and also the salad.
i was a little disappointed by the small amount of sea urchin and salmon roe, but they still tasted really good and fresh.

service: very bad. we had a reservation at 11:30 and none of the staff were there to help us figure out where we were seated. we had to look for the waitress ourselves to ask. after that, it took almost an hour for our orders to arrive, even if we kept following it up with the staff and saw other customers who came later having the same order already fulfilled. the staff weren't friendly either, and one of the girls never gives us any updates on the food progress. when they finally got to inform us that the tempura wasn't done, we agreed to wait for the kaisen gozen to be served when it was done. they served the kaisen gozen but took 15 more minutes to serve the tempura and only after we reminded them. overall, the service was extremely disappointing. the only highlight was when a girl apologized after she served the tempura late.

we won't likely return to this place. the food is good, but there are other restaurants with similar or better quality of food and service.
