loved their grilled gindara and ika sashimi.  their sake and maguro sashimi was so-so.  price is fairly expensive considering the food portion sizes.  their service is quite quick and very accommodating.

we came at around 8:30 pm and the restau was breaming with people in the know. its very feeling tokyo in a way except that you can order sushi, tempura, yakitiri in one roof. but tgey do it all well. we ordered the special sashimi platter with toro and all and it was oh so good and fresh. the sake was served very cold. the thing that was a bit of a letdown was that several of the dishes we ordered were already finished for the day. oh well it only goes to show everything is fresh daily and we just have to come earlier.

our visit to seryna was a planned trip so we were able to reserved a few days before. as you know, meals in the little tokyo area require a reservation.

we were pretty overwhelmed with their extensive food choices. just like any other japanese meal, we started with a sashimi platter (san ten mori or 3 kinds of assorted sashimi). all types tasted fresh and the serving was just enough for 2-3 people. we also ordered 5pcs kushiyaki moriawase or grilled assorted skewers + buta bara or skewered pork belly. the platter mostly include different chicken parts. all the skewers (including the pork belly) were a bit dry. my friend also got chirashi sushi or sashimi mix on sushi rice. i didn’t like it because i’m not fond of eating sashimi with rice. we also ordered sushi but i forgot what it’s called. not sure if it’s salmon roll but it had salmon wrapped in it and grilled fish on top each piece. i like the taste and texture of the sushi and the grilled fish gives it a little crunch when you chew it. my friends ordered other dishes - eel and spicy salmon. despite eating a lot of different dishes, i’m still hungry so i ended up ordering ebi tempura and a cup of rice.

we were supposed to have lunch today in izakaya kikufuji but the place was packed so we decided to try seryna out instead. i must say that seryna did not disappoint!

food was great! we ordered the spicy salmon sashimi, spicy tuna roll, buttered oysters and 5pcs. ebi tempura. food serving was fast and efficient and the staff was very accommodating. the ambiance and the interiors elevated the dining experience even if we had to eat at the communal table. we will definitely be back!

i would have given this place a rating of 5 if it wasn't for the indifferent staff who seem not to care much about people who dine alone. i must say that i was taken aback by the authenticity of their ambiance. you know its truly good japanese food if most of their customers are also japanese. don't expect much from the service. this would be my go-to japanese restaurant. interiors are dark and intimate lighting throughout the resto but it makes for a really interesting experience. i strongly recommend their sushi bar, its one of the best i've seen!

this is the best japanese restaurant that ive been to here in metro manila. if youre a fan of sashimi and sushi, this is the best place to be. for p380 you can get a lunch bento meal that'll satisfy your japanese food craving and more....just a warning: come early or make a reservation. this place is always jam-packed. theres parking at makati square.

definitely a must try for those who love japanese food. seryna offers authentic japanese food. the moment you step inside the restaurant, it's like you are in japan already. the place is always packed, so it's best to call for reservations. we went on a sunday thinking there wouldn't be a lot of people, but we were wrong so we had to wait for a few minutes to get seated. the food is delicious, and their lunch sets are really value for money. average cost per head would php500 minimum.

throwback review:
when we entered the restaurant, wow.... it's so packed. full house. the friendly guard smiled and told us it's full house... lol... he told us to wait a while. it's our first time there, and i was hungry. so i thought to eat at other shops behind seryna. but the place behind didn't look comfortable, was a bit oily and smoky feeling.. so we were determined to wait for a seat in seryna..
the guard is so nice, that he came out looked at the corner for us, and told us customer is leaving soon. and told us to wait just a bit more. finally, we gotten our seat and clean table. we didn't wait for long actually. they were fast... we had the private seating area to the side. although the place is quite noisy, cuz it's not a super big place, but it's filled with customers on every seat. it's quite a bustling ambience. every server is busy and going around like crazy. but they were never slow or miss out on any requests or hand raised up. service is excellent!!!
as for the menu..... wow! super comprehensive huge variety of food they've got. i wish i can order more, hahahaha... but it's already alot i ordered. everything looks nice on the menu, so much choices to choose from. and when the food is served, it looks just as tasty as i expected! or rather exceeded my expectations! everything is beautifully done, taste and flavours are to my very satisfaction. the wagyu is super tender and chewy and juicy... gravy soup is soooooo good. this place has some very fine chefs indeed! even the salad..... it's like an art or what. i love every dish. food is served rather quick too, despite full house customers.
this is the best japanese restaurant in metro manila! actually better than the ones i had in singapore and hongkong by far.. congrats!!!! 5 star!! will come back again :)
*** see the pictures that i attached. it shows more than my words can describe. looks so yummmmmmy right?????!!!!! you must try!!

definitely one of the best places for sashimi in metro manila! their salmon was very fresh and pretty generous. 😋

their katsudon and kakiage were also good, but very much overshadowed by the sashimi.

it was one of those days when i was just really craving for sashimi. since i worked in makati, the best option was to go where else but little tokyo.

i can say this place serves authentic japanese food due to the presence of many japanese people. i've never heard so much japanese language except when i'm watching anime.

enough about that, let's talk about the food. i ordered their san ten mori. it's 3 kinds of sashimi. salmon, maguro (tuna) and ika (squid). i love how fresh and how it melts in your mouth. the beef slices in their gyudon is juicy and tender. we also had their tempura (3pieces). all were fresh, and crispy to the tail.

we shell out 1k++ for just these 3 dishes. prices are a bit steep, but if you consider the place and the authenticity, it's worth it.

ordered goten mori, gindara teriyaki, and saikoro steak.

the sashimi i think approaches the best i have tasted in japan. a little wasabi on the chopsticks, dipped in the soy, and then placed on the sashimi. you can taste the freshness of the sashimi without getting too much soy on the meat.

the gindara and the steak were both melt in the mouth. subtle flavours from the sauce and marinade do not distract the palate from the taste of the fish and beef.

the waitress who took our orders was superb. helpful and knowledgable. the other staff were however showing the effects of a long day.

it is not cheap but worth every cent. i understand why seryna has got a 4.7 out of 5 rating on zomato.

as expected from a japanese joint, service was of surgical precision. and that's something to be said since i was here on a sunday night along with dozens of families toting little children. the gyudon, potato salad, sushi platter, and the teriyaki and hamashi rolls were excellent. the serving sizes enough for sharing with 3. the clincher: always a special treat to see the chef prepare food in front of you.

one of the must go restaurants in little tokyo, makati.

i first visited this little gem 5-6 years ago but all i could remember was that i was satisfied with my food and there were a lot of japanese who were also dining.
i decided to go back yesterday. my companion and i had a superb dinner.

here are our orders(for 2pax)
suno mono moriawase(assorted seafood in vinegar)
- i love how fresh the seafood were. they changed the usual octopus to imported ones with extra charge. and it was worth it. i just think that the vinegar is a bit bland(but, that's just me because i like my vinegar to be really sour).

san ten mori(3 kinds of mori)
- consists of salmon, maguro and ika. i am so satisfied with this. they were fresh and delicious. you can actually distinguish the extraordinary texture inside your mouth.

jo salmon - special fresh salmon
- we actually ordered their ordinary salmon sashimi but it was sold out(we came in at almost 10pm) so we opted for this one. it is more expensive than the ordinary salmon sashimi but this is the best that i've tasted so far. i'm still daydreaming about this sashimi. still lingering on that taste, on that texture! writing about it makes me crave for more. 😨

spicy tuna roll
-ordinary, nothing really special about it but yes, it was delicious. ordinary delicious. there are restaurants who serve better-tasting ones.

torikawa(chicken skin) and chicken liver
- favorite! next to nanbantei :)

ambience and service:
it is amazing that they are able to maintain the place. it was as if you're dining in a restaurant in japan.
service was good. no complaints but at that time, the place was not packed.

must try. will come back for sure.
