a good restaurant especially for lunch. their sushi and sashimu are good and substantial. sitting is mafe in sort of compartments. the place is rather dark. no particular effort was made to create an atmosphere but food is good and reasonably priced. that is the most important thing after all.

their spicy hotate nigiri simply bursts in flavours inside your mouth! unagi is silky and buttery, while their plump maguro has the biggest fish portions compared to other sushi bars.. simply the best!

this place is always packed during lunch time because it's cheaper during that time in most japanese restaurants with their lunch bento boxes. my brother and i love the sukiyaki set, because it's so worth it. we would wake up despite sleeping really late just for us to eat here before!

visited seryna earlier on a thursday night, so it wasn't really that packed. upon entering, you can already feel the night japan life. love the ambience, there may be dark areas but some are really filled with pops of light. ordered their uni sashimi, chicken teriyaki, ebi tempura, and fried rice. their uni sashimi is so fresh! i love love love it. it may be pricy, but it's worth every penny. the chicken teriyaki has sizzles which is fascinating. it tasted scrumptious as well, my favorite chicken teriyaki so far. the ebi tempura had the perfect amount of batter- crunchy! just the way i like it. the food was delicious, but the service wasn't. some servers may be very friendly, but some were just snobbish and didn't give the japanese feel in the restaurant. hope they could work on that, but overall, it was a great experience. will defiantly come back next time with more food seryna has to offer.

by far, one of our top 2 favorite japanese restaurant in the country!

the service is quick. the food is fresh. the flavors are authentic! and the ambience is a mix of modern and traditional izakaya.

it's pure joy sitting by the sushi counter, watching the chef prepare the food. if only they have nigiri omakase... *sigh!*

upon entering seryna, i got an instant, classic, japanese ambiance. the place was dimly lit; the servers wearing kimono dresses; and there were both regular and chabudai or short legged tables, where you can comfortably hang your feet below a hollow space.

the food was simply amazing. my friend and i ordered different sashimi, and they were all fresh and delicious. besides these, we also ordered sushi, soft tofu, buttered oysters, and the house sake.

the only thing i've got a complaint for is the temperature. although they had a fan beside our table, it was still a little bit hot, and upon asking our kind server, i was told that the air conditioning is usually weak. it's a good thing that it improved as the night progressed (perhaps the cold sake helped).

we were attended by different servers who seemed to know the menu, as they offered suggestions especially when some of my first options were out of stock already.

overall, i'd love to go back to seryna. it's a good place for either an intimate date or a fun meal with family or friends.

we're back in little tokyo last saturday. and finally had my first dining experience in seryna. at exactly 11:30 am, we get a slot in the front parking and we're quickly seated as soon as we enter the place. and before the clock strikes 12noon, the place is jampack. and i get to realize that this place serves serious japanese dishes🇯🇵

we are handed a lunch meal menu.

we ordered:
🇯🇵saikoro steak (p980) served in a sizzling plate are superb soft beef cubes with lemon & butter on top.

🇯🇵kaisen gozen (p490) lunch meal set that has rice, lots of raw seafoods (prawn, salmon roe, mackerel, uni, tuna, salmon, etc), and soup & potato salad sidings.

verdict: i had the saikoro steak, it literally melts in your mouth. these wagyu cubes are cooked to perfection. it may come in a steep price, but these are worth every bite. the kaisen menu set is one complete meal at a "sulit" price. would love to come back here. i enjoyed everything😊

stopped by seryna for their sushi, but stayed for dinner instead. they really do have one of the best sushi in the area - fresh and never frozen.

ordered a couple of other things too like ebi tempura and yakitori. there were so-so. the tempura was nicely cooked, but the shrimps were just way to small for its price. the yakitori was bland, and the beef tongue was particularly tough.

seryna is one of my favorite restaurants in little tokyo! i've loved it since the first time i've tried it. the place gets crowded though so i suggest you call ahead for a reservation.

i recommend their salmon sashimi, their fried squid tentacles, and their saikoro steak. also, make sure you try their unagi eel -- it's to die for!!

food definitely looks good!

it's relatively affordable when you compare its price to other restaurants. the service took a little too long to serve us our food.the chirashi, although fresh, didn't really stand out. no unique taste. kind of disappointing since other reviews raved about it. maybe it's just me. oh well.

it gets full around lunch time so make sure you are able to reserve seats.

itadakimasu!

last september 28, to celebrate our friend's birthday, we decided to explore little tokyo. as most of the restaurants we wanted to try were either too pricey or full, we settled down in seryna, which gave us a taste of japan.

food. 4.5/5
the food was great. i ordered separately from the group (there were four of us) because they opted to have food that has seafood base. i had, if my memory serves me right, a chicken teridon. i was actually overwhelmed by the bowl filled to the brim. i thought i wouldn't be able to finish it but is was too sumptuous not to. :d my friends also gave great feedback about the other food, including the maki roll which is the birthday celebrant's favorite.

ambiance. 4.5/5
though the place is teeming with activity, it is quite spacious, neat and organized. we settled down on one of those semi-booths, giving us a semblance of the japanese restaurants we often see in japanese animes and series.  however, the lighting was a bit dim.

staff. 4.5/5
the staff are very approachable and accommodating on our every demand and request. a dedicated waiter oversaw our dining experience and she seemed happy to be of service to us.

price. 4/5
the price, although a bit steep, justifies the food served.

overall, it was a great dining experience. makes me want to year for tokyo, the actual one :)

tucked in a narrow street not so far from makati , this restaurant supposedly serves some of the best japanese food in manila. crab salad was awesome , caledonia roll was ok , we have had better ones. highlight of the night soft shell crab , we ate the whole crab without removing the shell. it was nice of them to give us a table without a reservation, service was very prompt.
