sensei is hard to commute to but worth the trip. the tuna and crispy scallop roll, which they recommended to me, was the best part

had dinner with my friends here and ordered a bunch of different sushi platters as well as the spicy gyoza. so order the spicy gyoza. it is worth it.

my favourite among the sushi platters that we ordered was the grilled salmon skin maki. yes, it was a bit spicy, but so good and so worth it. i also enjoyed the crispy philly. think all the bad things for you in one: cheese, deep fried, sushi. (okay, sushi isn't exactly bad for you.)

serving size wise, i'd say that two sushi platters had us comatose, and we were super hungry when we came in. definitely worth the trip to bf.

note: parking may be hard to come by but we were there early (around 6:30/7pm) so it wasn't so bad.

over-all, the food tasted oishi. however, with only the number of dishes (without rice) we had, it felt overpowering in the end. perhaps it was the tempura having more crispy batter than comfortable (truth to tell, ooma’s is better). the salad was worth saying as good though. food is good but take caution so as not to over order. cozy place. good service.

it was my first time in sensei and i found the place quite uncomfortable. the dining area was too small and the place was really hot. but, the sushi was excellent because the fish was very fresh. my personal favorite is the blow-torched salmon. i still find myself craving for that dish every now and then. however, the dessert, namely the banana with tofu and chocolate, needs a lot of improvement. it literally looked like the chef just cut bananas and drizzled chocolate syrup over them. overall, it was an ok experience but i would still go back to satisfy my sushi cravings.

absolutely loved the sea urchin rice, and the traditional salmon roll with tempura crumbs seriously left my craving satisfied. expect at least a 20+ minute wait time, which isn’t uncommon, but that's in case you're looking for a quick bite. also, if you're driving, prepare to settle for a parking somewhere near since they have very limited parking space as well.

anyway, it's definitely value for money, especially since their portions are pretty generous, too. can't wait to go back and try the other dishes.

....mouth is watering as i type

when it comes to the food, it's really worth trying. we ordered only for their best sellers namely, crispy philly, cali roll with prawn popcorn, & pork dumplings. there are 5 of us who ate there including my toddler however the place is too small & they don't have high chairs for babies. they also allow other guests to smoke inside their very small place. the parking space there is also a necessity.

one of the best sushi places i've tried. i suggest ordering from the blackboard, which has their specialties. japanese fried oysters, foie gras maki, lobster maki, etc. on the basics, tried their spicy salmon maki and uni tempura. both really good too. only drawbacks to the place are its small size (so i suggest making reservations if possible) and the cash-only basis. staff is very friendly.

very good fried japanese oysters.

the half-baked chocolate cake was very good but they can put better vanilla ice cream.

service was good. price was reasonable.

i am honored to be one of the first customers of this japanese fusion restaurant. i have nothing bad to say about the food since the quality is superb. even though the prices on the menu may seem expensive but it is worth it in my opinion. i really want to come back here but parking is always a problem since the resto is located on a compound so it shares it's parking with other stores.

absolutely terrific food! i heard about sensei sushi from my brother, who claims that its probably the best japanese in the las pinas area. so on the way home from a meeting, i wazed them since ive never seen their shop before. they are a quiet little shop along the bf main bf road near the pcj church with a small logo on their sign that looka just like their neighbors, so theyre hard to spot. when we entered, i was surprised to see how small the resto was. it could only fit about 20 people, but surprisingly, about half the resto's tables werr already reserved. since i was clueless, i asked the waiter for their best sellers. we ended up ordering the crispy philadelphia maki, the fried oysters, the torched salmon maki, and the spicy seafood pasta. the crispy philly was pretty tasty, being cheesy and fried and crispy. the torched salmon was also pretty good, but kinda tasted like normal baked salmon with rice. the seafood pasta was pretty good, too. for dessert, we ordered the half baked chocolate cake. if you are going to get the half baked chocolate cake, you need to order in advance since it takes 20 mins for it to come out. the choc cake was very delicious, great with the mango it comes with. we spent about 1200 for me and my gf. the atmosphere of the place feels kinda small and dark. they say its comfy but i didnt really get that vibe. the guy at the bar had one of those jejemon caps with the straight brim as he was wearing his chefs uniform. kinda brought down the atmosphere of the place. will i come back? yes, to try the other stuff. the service was pretty fast. like 3-4 mins per dish. it was weird considering its fresh maki? so you had to like, roll the maki and then fry it and then cut it? so i kinda doubt if the stuff was really freshly made. pero good food none-the-less.

ave but 0.5 add"l for the crispy philly, this is gooood....
ordered chahan, crispy philly and karaage. chahan is flavorful but too pricey for a small cup (160/cup) karaage chicken is not fully cooked. tasted raw btw.
summary:could have been 4.0 if value for money is acceptable

dining area is uncomfortable, and dirty, (i don't even want to think about the kitchen!) and service is mediocre despite having over staffing and a small dining area. food is mostly on the sweet side, actually very sweet. sweet lead the tastes in all the dishes we ordered, and we ordered quite a few dishes on the cheesy chalk board menu. (really, chalk board menu?... how cheap can you get?) even dishes that we did not expect to be sweet was sweet. good temperature is also a concern. this place despite the rundown look and lack of comfort still manages to charge a pretty penny for the seemingly similar tasting dishes they serve. overall... quite a disappointing experience.

the fatty tuna and salmon sashimi were fresh and well sourced. every dish was well presented. credit cards are now being accepted unlike our earlier visits when cash was the only mode of payment. it was also nice to see chef ricketts in the kitchen. this is one jap resto we keep coming back to for our sashimi and sushi cravings.
