it was my first time insenseiand i found the place quite uncomfortable. the dining area was too small and the place was really hot. but, the sushi was excellent because the fish was very fresh. my personal favorite is the blow-torched salmon. i still find myself craving for that dish every now and then. however, the dessert, namely the banana with tofu and chocolate, needs a lot of improvement. it literally looked like the chef just cut bananas and drizzled chocolate syrup over them. overall, it was an ok experience but i would still go back to satisfy my sushi cravings.

absolutely terrific food! i heard aboutsenseisushi from my brother, who claims that its probably the best japanese in the las pinas area. so on the way home from a meeting, i wazed them since ive never seen their shop before. they are a quiet little shop along the bf main bf road near the pcj church with a small logo on their sign that looka just like their neighbors, so theyre hard to spot. when we entered, i was surprised to see how small the resto was. it could only fit about 20 people, but surprisingly, about half the resto's tables werr already reserved. since i was clueless, i asked the waiter for their best sellers. we ended up ordering the crispy philadelphia maki, the fried oysters, the torched salmon maki, and the spicy seafood pasta. the crispy philly was pretty tasty, being cheesy and fried and crispy. the torched salmon was also pretty good, but kinda tasted like normal baked salmon with rice. the seafood pasta was pretty good, too. for dessert, we ordered the half baked chocolate cake. if you are going to get the half baked chocolate cake, you need to order in advance since it takes 20 mins for it to come out. the choc cake was very delicious, great with the mango it comes with. we spent about 1200 for me and my gf. the atmosphere of the place feels kinda small and dark. they say its comfy but i didnt really get that vibe. the guy at the bar had one of those jejemon caps with the straight brim as he was wearing his chefs uniform. kinda brought down the atmosphere of the place. will i come back? yes, to try the other stuff. the service was pretty fast. like 3-4 mins per dish. it was weird considering its fresh maki? so you had to like, roll the maki and then fry it and then cut it? so i kinda doubt if the stuff was really freshly made. pero good food none-the-less.

sensei is an amazing japanese establishment that was opened by bruce ricketts a few years back. the restaurant has recently been moved to a separate location, also found in b.f. and has also been given a fresh new look and atmosphere.

as for the food, senseihas never failed to disappoint. in fact, since it’s reopening, i believe that the quality of food has significantly increased as well as the flavour of each dish. the tempura was perfectly light and crispy. each sushi that i tried had its own unique flavour, and everything was well balanced. he had unique combinations for each one and the entire meal was an amazing experience. if you ever find yourself in the b.f. area you should definitely stop by! i will for sure come back and try his other specialties!

place is easy to locate, it's just beside sing sing meatshop. place is small, can accommodate only 20 pax, i think. parking is difficult in this area. we are looking for some japanese resto near the area and we sawsenseihere on zomato which has a good rating. must try: pan-fried oyster! superb! super tasty and fresh 👌🏻. we also tried the cali roll and tijuana maki. taste is just okay.

our first try atsenseiis a hit!

the place is cozy and clean. and we are seated comfortably when we arrived (because we were early). we made sure we come early (thanks to a friendly tip) so we do not have to worry sitting 8 people for dinner.

we ordered the tempura, tuna sashimi, kani salad, beef teppanyaki, katsudon to name a few (whew, what a feast!) and all are delish!

the staff are courteous, and all of us were well served!

we will definitely come back.

in late 2011,senseisushi bar by chef bruce ricketts opened its doors to the world. it has become our go-to place when we want non-trad japanese food. he later opened mecha uma and ooma various locations in the metro.

the reviews were true. the wait is worth it. and the food is divine. we ordered the grilled salmon which was grilled to perfection and not all japanese restaurants can do this right. salmon aburi was the bomb. the tempura were really big prawns. everything they ordered was good. will come back for more aburi sushi.senseiis indeed the master of yumminess.

i lovesenseiso much.

i've been here twice. the first time was on a late saturday night and just as expected, the place was almost full. it was a good thing that i called to get a reservation (+++).

i had the salmon miso-yaki. as a salmon lover, this did not disappoint. i loved how the miso flavor was present in every bite. thinking about it makes me want to have more!

also ordered the tuna & crispy scallop dynamite maki. i really don't know why this isn't on the must try list!!! the flavor really explodes in your mouth. this is even better than the crispy philly, in my opinion.

on my 2nd visit, i was on a monday lunch date. barely any people at all! ordered once again the dynamite sushi (because my boyfriend and i just love it!), and the crispy philly. i loved it as well! the cream cheese blended well with the salmon and it's just soo heavenly. it didn't mention in the menu that it was fried, so i guess those who steer away from oily food wouldn't go gaga over this dish.

also had the fried oysters. it was unexpectedly soft but good nonetheless. the kimchi puree sold it for me, but i wish it was a little bit more spicy.
and of course, had the classic salmon sashimi. if i'm not mistaken, it was at least 6 juicy slices. worth the php260!

overall, it was an amazing experience.

service: 5/5
food: 10/5 tbh
place: 4.5/5 (it's kind of tiny)

we've always wanted to go to bf homes to try our their restaurants but it's just too far from where we live! but we did our research prior to the drive, and out of all the places, senseiwas rated the highest. everyone who has ever eaten here was so satisfied that we just had to check it out.

first, we got the salmon sashimi (php260). the slices were chunky and they were so fresh and juicy! you know how much of a sucker we are for fresh and juicy raw fish, and this salmon truly did not disappoint. for only php260, you get to have 6 chunky slices of this glorious japanese food.

next, we got the crispy philly (php190), which is deep fried salmon maki bursting with different flavors. it was stuffed with asparagus and rice and topped with cream cheese. however, we didn't actually expect it to be deep fried, hence it was too oily for us. but don't get us wrong, it tasted good, but not great.

we went on and tried a new kind of tempura and this time it was soft shell crab (php410). we love crabs and we love tempura, and we really think that it's a great mix. it was easy too eat and despite the fact that it was deep fried, the crab did not lose its taste. in fact, we wouldn't be lying if we said it tasted like the ocean!

now on a much more expensive note, we ordered a dish of foie gras sushi (php600+). this was actually not on their menu, but thank god we found them written up on their board. it was really expensive for only 2 pieces, but it was definitely worth it. one bite into the foie gras and the flavors burst into buttery texture that melted in our mouth. it was sinful, but it was too good. we lovesenseifor coming up with this kind of sushi!

i must say a trip to the famous aguirre st of bf homes wont be complete without visitingsenseisushi. i took advantage if going there not on peak times and got myself some of their most famous selections. the crispy philly was recommended but when i tried it was just an ok dish nothing so spectacular on what people suggested. the fried oysters was simply delicious with the mix of their kimchi puree and garlic aioli, it was definitely explosion of flavors in my mouth for the right price as well and its huge servings. finally the spicy gyoza was such a treat as the flavors of the sauce compliemented the dish even more and would make me go back to this hole in the wall place near to another famous place called sing sing. i'm glad it was worth the visit to be here in a laid back sunday night.
