sushi rolls are absolutely a winner!

limited sashimi choices.

ultimately needs improvement in parking. we wanted to go back but it is hard to find a place to park.

our first try at sensei is a hit!

the place is cozy and clean. and we are seated comfortably when we arrived (because we were early). we made sure we come early (thanks to a friendly tip) so we do not have to worry sitting 8 people for dinner.

we ordered the tempura, tuna sashimi, kani salad, beef teppanyaki, katsudon to name a few (whew, what a feast!) and all are delish!

the staff are courteous, and all of us were well served!

we will definitely come back.

we always wanted to go to this restaurant since a lot of people have been raving about it. unfortunately every time we will go, it is closed. they used to be closed every thursdays, and that is usually our day off. fortunately, their schedule changed and we were able to visit this place!

- [ ] place- it is actually a hole in the wall place beside a famous unli samgyupsal restaurant. it is quite small and cramped, maybe around 8 to 10 tables only. the place is very japanese looking, simple and minimalist.
- [ ] menu/food- when they handed us the menu, it seems like they have a few dishes only, but when i looked at their big blackboard of their wall wherein their menu specials were written. make sure to check this out.
- [ ] we first had their spicy tuna salad, it has a lot of strips of tuna sashimi and lettuce. it has that sweet and wasabi-like taste at the end. its actually pretty good, but we’ve tasted better since we always order this in every japanese restaurant that we go to. next is their gyoza. this by far has been the most delicious gyoza that we have ever tasted and it just costs 190php! it is not like the usual gyoza flavor, but it has a sweet and spicy with wasabi like flavor at the bottom of the gyoza. we also had their samon head. this is also one of our must haves in every japanese restaurant that we go to. we think it costs 350 pesos, for half a head, price is not that bad. its also good, but then we had better. lastly, we had their spicy chicken karaage, its really good, chicken is soft, not hard to chew. its tanginess is mild. really good to partner with their gohan!
- [ ] service - their service is good. there’s free house tea, another must have in any japanese restaurant. their staff are responsive and observant.

over-all: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5 stars)
overall, we will definitely go back to this place. we still have a lot of dishes to try!

it was my first time to try this unassuming hole-in-the-wall along aguirre ave. and was promptly blown away from the first bite.

certain offerings, like the scallop aburi, i found to be overpriced at p590 for just 2 pieces! it would have been a different story had it tasted out-of-this-world, but it didn't. it was just ok. but other than that, the rest of our orders were really good.

the harami tatake with uni and foie gras was quite unforgettable. now this one was worth it at p600+ a pop. heavenly and melt-in-your-mouth, first-time diners should give this a try.

another favorite choice of our group were the panfried japanese oysters. and to balance out the exoticness of our lunch, we also had the more familiar chicken karaage.

sensei sushi is your best bet if you're looking for non-traditional japanese fare. it's the kind of food diners actually talk about while they're eating it, which is a good thing.

this tiny restaurant offers so much of gastronomic experience. when i visited here, i was able to try various dishes from their wide selection of meals. every dish were great! i specifically liked the torched salmon belly aburi! it was just amazing! ebi tempura was also great expept for the its shells which i yhink should be removed completely except for the tail but the sauce was just perfect. beef teppanyaki and grilled steak were so much tender. crispy philly was okay. i so much enjoyed cali roll with prawn popcorn, gyoza and spicy gyoza. i couldn't remember the other dishes we tried but everything were great!

we ordered the salmon sashimi, gyudon, spicy salmon maki, chicken teriyaki (off menu). their sashimi and maki is above as expected 🤘🏻🔥! the chicken teriyaki is good but there are more vegetables than the chicken itself more of a chopsuey rice bowl 😂

delicious food! this would have been a five but i felt that the place was a little bit small and cramped up but all in all it was a great experience for me. servings were more than generous, especially the tempura. also enjoyed the tuna tartare and the chicken karaage. would definitely be back here. :)

never fails to impress. the mixture of flavors is an explosion if experiences. we had a couple of dishes. cali dynamite, aburi scallop, tijuana, cold soba, etc. all of them where quite yummy.

make sure you leave room for dessert. a family favorite is grilled banana. we had half baked chocolate cake and it was to die for.

visit this place when you make it to bf homes paranaque.

one of my favorite japanese restaurants. this place is definitely not traditional because everything is fusion but literally everything on their menu is good i can’t pick a favorite. if you haven’t tried it yet, you have too!

there’s something different in their salmon that i found interesting and surprisingly delicious other than it somehow melts in your mouth. aside from their japanese cuisines, they also have nice desserts to choose from. my top pick was the chocolate lava cake 😄

crispy philly is a fried salmon maki in simple batter. cream cheese adds a good pop of flavor.

another attention-worthy dish: fried oysters. kimchi puree just with the right amount of spice, was perfect for this deep-fried dish. oysters were light and fresh too.

sensei still is a favorite in this neighborhood.

been eating here for years. offers japanese food with a creative twists.

although i don't recommend the venue for social dinners because the place is quite small, it is one of my favorite go-to places for workday lunch :)

fried oysters
crunchy tuna maki
tempura & beef soba
