sensei sushi
we always wanted to go to this restaurant since a lot of people have been raving about it. unfortunately every time we will go, it is closed. they used to be closed every thursdays, and that is usually our day off. fortunately, their schedule changed and we were able to visit this place!
- [ ] place- it is actually a hole in the wall place beside a famous unli samgyupsal restaurant. it is quite small and cramped, maybe around 8 to 10 tables only. the place is very japanese looking, simple and minimalist.
- [ ] menu/food- when they handed us the menu, it seems like they have a few dishes only, but when i looked at their big blackboard of their wall wherein their menu specials were written. make sure to check this out.
- [ ] we first had their spicy tuna salad, it has a lot of strips of tuna sashimi and lettuce. it has that sweet and wasabi-like taste at the end. its actually pretty good, but we’ve tasted better since we always order this in every japanese restaurant that we go to. next is their gyoza. this by far has been the most delicious gyoza that we have ever tasted and it just costs 190php! it is not like the usual gyoza flavor, but it has a sweet and spicy with wasabi like flavor at the bottom of the gyoza. we also had their samon head. this is also one of our must haves in every japanese restaurant that we go to. we think it costs 350 pesos, for half a head, price is not that bad. its also good, but then we had better. lastly, we had their spicy chicken karaage, its really good, chicken is soft, not hard to chew. its tanginess is mild. really good to partner with their gohan!
- [ ] service - their service is good. there’s free house tea, another must have in any japanese restaurant. their staff are responsive and observant.
over-all: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5 stars)
overall, we will definitely go back to this place. we still have a lot of dishes to try!
