amazing food, and atmosphere. definitely worth a visit and we will be back. we live in gulf shores and had friends and family staying down ft.morgan when we decided to try sassy bass rather then driving to town. this was agreatdecision, the only problem was management. we had agreatserver that was not able to serve us because the manager wouldn't leave our table. we told him we loved the food and he asked us to write a review for the restaurant, i have never had this happen before. i'm happy to report the food is the best in ft. morgan by far and service wasgreatexcept for this mgr. continually coming to our table and bothering all of us. the food was so good we didn't want to be rude, but this place could be the new must visit restaurant down ft.morgan if their mgr. can just let a table eat in peace and should not be soliciting customers to write reviews. i really hope he's not there when we go back.

the service was absolutely horrendous. we had a party of 11 during slow time (2:00 pm on a monday). immediately upon sitting down we were informed she would only make 3 separate checks (we didn't even ask for separate checks). our drinks were empty the majority of the time. thankfully they sure did slap an automatic gratuity in the bill though. our waitress was tipped $56 for doing a terrible job. i don't mind tipping well forgreatservice, but good grief. we were really excited to try this place, especially since we visit gulf shores every year, but never again. save your money and go somewhere where you cavan enjoy your dining experience rather than be upset about the poor service.

what agreatmenu of flavorful food that is reasonably priced!

the service was friendly and our server was helpful with questions and details about the dishes. we enjoyed the booth seating and the lighting and wall decor was casual and pleasant for an early evening meal.

if you want to skip the details below, know this: the food was phenomenally good. it'sgreatto find local fare that tastes chef-inspired while being reasonably priced enough to take a whole family. sassy bass will now be our "go to" standard.

we started with the gouda bites which are addictive....crisp, light, cheese melt-in-your-mouth delicious. next was the pear salad with goat cheese and wow was it wonderful. lightly roasted pears that triangulated perfectly with the field greens and goat cheese and the dressing was perfect. i can't imagine ever walking in there without ordering this salad.

also delicious was the veggie veggie flat bread pizza that i had fight my son over just to get a few pieces. it was a large serving with garlic hummus in place of a traditional sauce scattered with plum tomatoes, onions and fresh veggies.

to sample as much as we could, we ordered several sides including the couscous, which was light and seasoned perfectly, and the fried corn which was rich and a creative alternative to steamed. like everything else, we were surprised by thegreatseasonings of these sides. the fries are skin-on, hand cut and well-seasoned and the fried pineapple wasgreattoo, though one slice seemed a bit scant.

i too worry that the name will keep some diners away but i hope people look past it to try this delicious fare and attentive service.

if you are looking for a local restaurant with an extensive and different menu that offers popular dishes along with some truly different and flavorful items at fair prices, this is the place!

excellent fresh catch of the day. last night hadgreatfresh catch grouper. very innovative sauce with shrimp on top.
hubby had the tasty skirt steak. excellent service and presentations of dishes.
so nice to have a quality restaurant in morgan town. beats the drive to gulf shores!

new to ft morgan. we love sassy bass!! we had a long drive from tennessee and were tired from the drive and unloading - our neighbor told us about sassy bass. she said it was close to us and the food wasgreat--- boy, she was right. we love the staff and the food is wonderful. we also have to say that the pizza from sassy bass pizza (at the end of the complex) was some of the best we have had, we recommend this place to everyone we can. if you want a casual place with really good food - sassy bass is your kind of place.

really pricey. really was not good catch of the day had no taste no season to it the squash was under cooked, and the drinks was way over priced but the cocktel sauce wasgreatfor two dinner and two drinks was 78.00 .

ilinois seeker of best seafood. best---i mean best---shrimp and grits! if you know better, let me know. fish taco really good--can't believe i said that! breakfast is as good as you look for---shrimp and grits on breakfast menu! fort morgan now has 2greatfood offerings. negative reviews must be from competition. mikes w/o the wait----oops, no shrimp and grit at mikees! time for breakfast.

this place rules!!! the food is outstanding. real gourmet style dishes, not just fried junk. the decor is nothing fancy, but the place is clean and the servers and owners were very friendly. breakfast lunch and dinner. we had a fantastic mahi dish and filet mignon kabobs. came back for agreatbreakfast the next morning. check the photo! we drove to gulf shores to eat at a few places that ended up being gross and with crusty service. we were excited to find this place right around the corner!

went upon recommendation by a local, they hadgreatfood,greatservice, andgreatprices.

i had the fish and chips, they were well breaded and very tender. fries were homemade and well fried.

my husband had the crab cake burger, which was well seasoned and fresh.

the real star was the 'crabby fries', which was the homemade fries with fresh crab bisque over top. the bisque was excellent, and was delicious with the fries.

service was excellent, prices were excellent. i highly recommend!
