amazing food, and atmosphere. definitely worth a visit and we will be back. we live in gulf shores and had friends and family staying down ft.morgan when we decided to try sassy bass rather then driving to town. this was a great decision, the only problem was management. we had a great server that was not able to serve us because the manager wouldn't leave our table. we told him we loved thefoodand he asked us to write a review for the restaurant, i have never had this happen before. i'm happy to report thefoodis the best in ft. morgan by far and service was great except for this mgr. continually coming to our table and bothering all of us. thefoodwas so good we didn't want to be rude, but this place could be the new must visit restaurant down ft.morgan if their mgr. can just let a table eat in peace and should not be soliciting customers to write reviews. i really hope he's not there when we go back.

my new standard. we enjoyed our first meal at sassy bass so much that we were inspired to post.

what a great menu of flavorfulfoodthat is reasonably priced!

the service was friendly and our server was helpful with questions and details about the dishes. we enjoyed the booth seating and the lighting and wall decor was casual and pleasant for an early evening meal.

if you want to skip the details below, know this: thefoodwas phenomenally good. it's great to find local fare that tastes chef-inspired while being reasonably priced enough to take a whole family. sassy bass will now be our "go to" standard.

we started with the gouda bites which are addictive....crisp, light, cheese melt-in-your-mouth delicious. next was the pear salad with goat cheese and wow was it wonderful. lightly roasted pears that triangulated perfectly with the field greens and goat cheese and the dressing was perfect. i can't imagine ever walking in there without ordering this salad.

also delicious was the veggie veggie flat bread pizza that i had fight my son over just to get a few pieces. it was a large serving with garlic hummus in place of a traditional sauce scattered with plum tomatoes, onions and fresh veggies.

to sample as much as we could, we ordered several sides including the couscous, which was light and seasoned perfectly, and the fried corn which was rich and a creative alternative to steamed. like everything else, we were surprised by the great seasonings of these sides. the fries are skin-on, hand cut and well-seasoned and the fried pineapple was great too, though one slice seemed a bit scant.

i too worry that the name will keep some diners away but i hope people look past it to try this delicious fare and attentive service.

if you are looking for a local restaurant with an extensive and different menu that offers popular dishes along with some truly different and flavorful items at fair prices, this is the place!

indies 408 owner. i had the pleasure of eating here on several occasions this past winter while staying at my condo down the road at the indies. thefoodis equivalent to what i'd expect in new orleans or where i live on the mississippi gulf coast; fresh, deliciously spicey and full of unique flavors. the owner and staff are very friendly and are there to please.
this is the most friendly atmosphere and bestfoodthat i have had on the alabama coast, ever, double thumbs up!!

casual spot, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. small menu, but nice variety. enjoyed our meal here and will be back. good shrimp, fresh fries, cole slaw and hush puppies. the gouda bites were tasty with their red pepper sauce and the chocolate cake was fantastic.foodwas anything but bland as several reviewers penned. this is not fine dining. it is beach casual with most foods fried. you can go fancy with a $25.00 entree or order a burger.

back for breakfast this morning. pancakes were very tasty, the eggs were fresh and a perfect over easy. the skirt steak was mighty tasty too. very friendly waitress (deb).

abby ridley davis and i went to dinner with sharon etter weber and bob weber at sassy bass in fort morgan after a wonderful day of fishing. the first thing i learned was that even on a slow night there is no place to park a car and boat. i will not be doing that again. the menu is fish camp style with upscale pricing. it is very similar to mikee's fare but about $6 per plate higher, and does not include a salad. there was no bread, or crackers and butter which we expected at these prices. they also do not have baked potatoes. thefoodwas overall good. comments about each entree are below the picture on fort morgan supper club facebook site. we especially liked the homemade french fries rather than frozen. we were disappointed in the bushwhackers, which are made with ice cream mix instead of with real premium ice cream, and as a result are thin and not as tasty. they are convenient to those on the 18 mile stretch from gulf shores to fort morgan.

the bestfoodon the alabama gulf coast. and the best beer. we have visited sassy bass on several occasions and each visit has been impressive. they seem to know several things that other gulf coast eateries don't. for example, they know that many people don't care for watery big brewery beers and have a variety of local craft beers on tap. they know that a crab cake should be made mostly of crab meat and not of filler, and that the best way to cook tuna is to barely cook it. the sliced prime rib open faced sandwich is just amazing. i would give it a 5 except that the atmosphere can be a bit rowdy. i would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal, especially if they are looking for a good beer to accompany it.

high prices, plenty offoodwith bland or no taste.. my family of 4 visited here when they first opened and had a bad experiance. we gave them a second chance 2 years later. thefoodis still over priced. they do give you a good portion though. the taste department is severely lacking. i had to add salt and pepper to everything. the french fries were very cold on all plates that they came on. the cold slaw had no taste but for cabbage. store bought scalloped potatoes hands down are better than theirs. our waitresses spent 15 minutes talking to another table while my drink cup sat empty. in my opinion, spend the extra gas and drive to gulf shores and give any of those restaurants a shot!

sticker shock. thefoodwas good. i'm having heart attack from the sticker shock!!!
i guess we didn't quite understand the menu correctly when it came to the price on salad. don't get me wrong, but when i get a bill that is $43 for 2 cups of soup, 2 salads (1 one with a small amount of chicken and 1 with 5 shrimp) and 2 glasses of water... i almost choked on the
lettuce in my mouth. the menu does not really indicate that price for chicken salad or shrimp salad is in addition to a dinner salad. it looks as if that is the price listed. i'm disappointed that i dropped $50 with tip for lunch and walked away still hungry.

food and service were outstanding. there's not much competition so it would be easy for the staff to "mail it in" but they take theirfoodand drinks seriously. good eats!

fish n grits, crab cakes, and grilled shrimp were all great!

new to ft morgan. we love sassy bass!! we had a long drive from tennessee and were tired from the drive and unloading - our neighbor told us about sassy bass. she said it was close to us and thefoodwas great --- boy, she was right. we love the staff and thefoodis wonderful. we also have to say that the pizza from sassy bass pizza (at the end of the complex) was some of the best we have had, we recommend this place to everyone we can. if you want a casual place with really goodfood- sassy bass is your kind of place.
