one of the best meals i have ever eaten. the firsttimei went to sargasso was chance. the meal and service were absolutely wonderful--one of the best meals i have ever eaten. the secondtimei went to sargasso was by choice and i took my very well traveled sisters with me. all of our meals were delightful. my most traveled sister said that it compared very favorably to other restaurants in much larger towns. it is truly a dining experience!

excellent!. when i visited sargasso's, i sat at the bar where i could view the the dinner service, kitchen operations, and quickness of bar service. i was clearly impressed withthe quality of all operations and how smoothly everything was organized. i had a couple appetizers that were out of this world. i know the nexttimei'm in morgantown, i will definitely revisit sargasso's!

one of the best places in morgantown! do not miss it!!. sargasso is one of my favorite restaurants in morgantown! i would always highly recommend it as the food is consistently delicious and worth the price! we also recently held our wedding rehearsal dinner at sargasso, with the assistance of jeremy (a manager). the event went perfectly! without us asking, our room for the event was upgraded. classy menus were printed up, and the service was meticulous throughout the planning of the event and the actual event. the food, as always, was incredible. many guests commented on how perfect the perfect salmon was. thank you to jeremy and sargasso for such a wonderful night and for being part of our big weekend. you have a great chef, manager, and great servers!

i would recommend the salmon, the filet mignon, the amazing cheesecake (with a great story!), and that's just for starters! i eat at sargasso everytimei'm in morgantown.

4thtime-- still perfect. sargasso is consistently delicious. long story short -- we had reservations but our table wasn't ready. the manager brought us some calamari (free) to snack on while we waited. i'm not a calamari fan....but this was delicious. our meals were perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. the bread basket comes with soft pretzels in it. yum! my only nitpick is that the online menu wasn't up to date. i really wanted a steak that night. but they were using the new menu, which only offered filet with crab cake (my wife ordered this -- it was awesome).

a favorite. i have frequented and recommended sargasso since its opening. the place for a business lunch.however, it is beginning to show its wear and tear on fixtures and the bathroom. during a recent lunch with a business group from out of town, the wait staff put a very dirty, greasy, and smudged up tea presentation box directly on the table. i was dissapointed with the lack of effort on the part of the staff to open the box and present the selections. while i hate to be sexist it was the firsttimei had a female wait person in this resteraunt.
also, the bathroom air vents need to be cleaned!

poor service, good food. we usually go to dinner here for special occasions. i always enjoy the food, but thistimethe service simply annoyed me. upon my simple special request, since i have a food allergy, the waiter said "well, the chef is really busy". then, the waiter couldn't explain some dishes because he had never had them. my dish was fine, but tasted more like i had ordered a no fat diet dish. no spark, no effort. very plain. he never even asked how i liked it and if it was ok. may rethink where we go next time. for those prices, i expect better service.

new years eve dinner. overpriced and disappointing. we have eaten at sargassos several times and enjoyed it ; however, i cannot say the same for our new year's eve meal. we were in no hurry so the length oftimefor service wasn't an issue. the prelude and starters were good, the salad interesting. i had the seafood crepe entree which seemed to be filled with mini shrimp and not much else. it was in a heavy, brown sauce that was unappetizing. the beef wellington crust was soggy and the flavor of the beef unremarkable. our total bill was $240 for 2 of us and only one of us had the wine flight. i don't think we'll bother with this restaurant again...sorry.

gone down hill...what happened. my last three meals have been disappointing. assumed firsttimewas just a bad night, secondtimemaybe just another bad night. waited a few months and tried again. not so good. have always been a big fan..in fact, my favorite place in morgantown for a few years. but, lately, something seems different. food is not same quality..and wow..last meal, so salty i couldn't eat it. i travel a lot, eat at places across the us, and prefer to praise rather than critique. i hope sargasso comes back.
