wow!. i had a meal here this winter that was sogoodi actually forgot i was in morgantown. lunch menu is very unique and they have an outstanding wine selection.

unique and superior dining experience. i have dined at sargasso many times and feel sargasso is an exceptional dining choice in morgantown. the seasonal menu is well executed and the dining experience is the likes of any large city restaraunt. the chef's creations are appropraiately portioned and priced. service has been above average and accomodating each visit i have had. i have taken clients to sargasso and they have been equally impressed. keep up thegoodwork!

excellent food and service. this is a great place for that special night out or entertaining for business. the menu changes seasonally, and for a small menu, really covers agoodvariety so that you're sure to find something you'll like. everything is exceptionally prepared and presented, and quite simply delicious! basically, they focus on doing a few things very well. portions are generous, so even though prices are high, you will feel you got your money's worth. the atmosphere is elegant, but not pretentious, and staff are well trained and attentive without being intrusive. you can ask questions about the food or wines and get a reliable answer.

enjoyable. the restaurant hasgoodfood, and a great atmosphere. i will return to sargasso's.

still #1. sargasso remains the best fine dining restaurant in morgantown. we joined friends this past weekend and had a great time. chef clearly understands the products he's working with. my pork tenderloin was surrounded by a rich demiglace, in and of itself is pretty standard fare. but, it was topped with a dried fruit culis that had a hit of vinegar to it, making it seem like a gastrique. seriously folks,goodstuff.

reliably good. my most recent trip to sargasso confirmed to me that it remains my first choice for fine dining in morgantown. i've not been disappointed in six or more visits. however, my most recent visit left a couple of things to be desired. first, the wait staff knows nothing about the bar. they won't be able to tell you what they have or be able to recommend substitutes for the things you want. someone needs to do some training.

the cuisine was well done as always. one note on the braised ribs...though escoffier might frown, braised meats shouldn't be removed from the braising liquid, even at service. they dry out and mine did. the sauce/braising liquid at the perimeter was little comfort.

don't let my nitpicking dissuade you. sargasso is as solid a dining experience you'll find in morgantown

poor service,goodfood. we usually go to dinner here for special occasions. i always enjoy the food, but this time the service simply annoyed me. upon my simple special request, since i have a food allergy, the waiter said "well, the chef is really busy". then, the waiter couldn't explain some dishes because he had never had them. my dish was fine, but tasted more like i had ordered a no fat diet dish. no spark, no effort. very plain. he never even asked how i liked it and if it was ok. may rethink where we go next time. for those prices, i expect better service.

very iffy. one of the best meals i've ever eaten and 2 of the worst in my life, especially the chilean sea bass - neither my wife nor myself could eat that meal. too pricy for the quality of food - food in other restaurants nearby is at least asgoodand a much better value.

amazing!. why is this restaurant in morgantown wv? been there 4 times while on business and don't bother going to one of the "fine dining" places in basements. the food is remarkable, the interior decor is asgoodas any you will see. five different areas and all are stylish. not too mant professional servers but all are well trained. only complaint i had about the place was fixed last week when they apparently have added a smokin' hot hostess and cute bartender. almost makes me want to go to morgantown.
