thank you!. this is my favourite restaurant, with great food, great staff and atmosphere. thank you for making my birthday dinner extra special with a great dessert to share. i recommend this restaurant to people all the time. i am never disappointed in the food or service. i give you 5 stars!!

sunday dinner. we went for dinner to celebrate a birthday in our family. although the service was good and the food tasted good, the appetiser, stuffed portabello was only luke warm , soup was barely warm and the rice and vegetables served with the entree's were again, only warm, although the meat portion of the entre was hot.

we were very disappointed as we had eaten here before and the meals were very good at that time. as our reservation was for 6:30, i don't think that it was a problem with the time of day.

i understand that niagara falls is mostly a tourist trap, so i relied on my fellow urban spooners to point me towards something decent...this time you let me down.
this place does not deserve the 85% rating it has on here.
the food is on the bland bland side of ordinary. the ribs boiled beyond succulent into a sea of dryness.
the fresh produce from the surrounding farms i guess would be an opportunity for a talented chef to put the local values on the table, yet this place drenches everything in stale cheese and sugary bbq sauce.
everyone here complains about the service in x and y restaurant, but who even cares about the service if the food is not yummy.
the service was actually ok. patio was nice too.

best meal at the falls. after getting tired of all the "chains" my family and i wanted to try something new. i typed in" best restaurant in niagara falls" & up came the sandstone. the staff was friendly while booking a reservation and they weren't that off the beaten track. the succulent steaks my wife and i had were as good as they come with fresh veggies and potatoes. our daughter loved her chicken parmesan and big sundae. all together the best meal we've had since coming to town.

family reunion. sandstone grillhouse helped to make our 19 person family reunion in niagara falls enjoyable. excellent food, service and wine. hosts and hostesses were friendly but professional. every person in our group, ages 2-80, were pleased with their meal. thank you sandstone staff.

recently discovered this restaurant isn't gluten free!!!!
they told us and wrote down that we were gluten free but then the salad had croutons in it! we spoke to the owner who told us we would be fine saying it would just cause indigestion. he came back later to patronize us saying that my sister was still smiling and would be okay.
she was not okay.
this is not a restaurant for people with celiac disease or gluten free.

not a gluten-free friendly restaurant. warning!!! the sandstone restaurant is not cautious when it comes to food allergies. i told the server that i have a serious gluten/wheat (celiac) allergy and i couldn't eat croutons and when i got near the end of my ceasar salad i found a crouton! i told the server about the crouton and it took 2 tries to get the manager to come see me. when he came over, he tried to down play my allergy saying that i'll get some stomach pains but i'll live. how rude! he asked me what would make me feel better and i said to comp my meal, but he only took off the salad. i'm going to be sick tonight, and he's telling me its no big deal. please be careful and stay away from this place if you have any allergies!

we booked a group of 13 and they were great! our group was visiting niagara falls for the weekend and this was just a random place that was close to our hotel. i'm so glad we chose this place. they had live music, great food, and great service. the place isn't huge but it fits us very comfortably with room for another big group and other tables. we went on a friday night and it was packed. make sure to make a reservation if you want a table!

we liked it so much, we went back 2 nights later. the cream of spinach & chicken soup was fabulous - my new favorite soup.

best steak i have ever had and very good service.

amazing. we had our wedding reception dinner a few weeks ago and the food was beyond what we expected. not one of our 20 guests have a negative complaint. the biggest complaint was the portion sizes were big. not one of us had room for desert. the service we recieved was amazing and food quailty was delicious. this is a restaurant we will be returning to in the future as well as all our guests are planning to return on their own when they visit the falls

after a couple of awful meals in niagara we picked sandstone based on its good reviews on urban spoon.they were right. delicious food, friendly and efficient service, nice atmosphere. reasonably priced. definitely recommend.

amazing!. i went to the restaurant because i was on vacation at niagara falls. it was pretty packed outside so we figured that it must be a great place. my family and i did not know what to expect when coming inside. we walked into a nice establishment that looked clean and crisp. the lights were dimmed and there was a candle as a centerpiece. there was live music and it was fantastic. the bread that they served us was wonderful! the added herb was a plus because it differed from all the other restaurants serving garlic bread as a starter. the waiter was prompt and it took an average amount of time to get the food. i got the blue cheese pasta and it was the most beautiful thing that i have ever tasted. they gave me a plate with both dishes of red chili flakes and cheese with two spoons. i could put as much cheese/red chili flakes as i wanted and that was a plus. my parents loved the steaks they got and it was the best they've had as well. the owner was great! he came around asking if we liked the meal and joked around with us. such a great, welcoming atmosphere. the price was reasonable. dessert was nice. the ice cream sundae was great. the owner met us at the door and thanked us. the waiters outside thanked us. the singer and instrumentalist outside also regarded us nicely. i loved how polite everyone is.

overall a fantastic place. nothing could be improved. i wish i lived closer to this place!

gluten free but ...... gluten free on menu. the chef, however has a heavy hand with salt. everything we had was oversalty to the point where i could not eat the onion soup. the waiter noted it but when the final bill came we were still charged for it.

birthday dinner. my dear hubby and i visited this fine establishment, june 3, 2013. the atmosphere is delightful, romantic, and not overdone. we were met by a superb waiter/bartender, don who went above and beyond to ensure our experience was superb. the owner took his time to greet and make our acquaintance. the food was absolutely fabulous! we started with sweet and spicy chicken bites, that far exceeded our expectations. my hubby ordered a filet mignon with jumbo shrimp as a main and i ordered striploin steak. the meat was grilled to perfection, the potatoes were the best i have ever enjoyed, the veggies were tender crisp, exuding nutrients. don suggested a delightful pinto blanc, which was crisp and light, a wonderful accompaniment to our main course. we cannot express enough how well-prepared the food was from starter to main. the service is immpeciable! we would highly recommend this fine restaurant to everyone! kudos sandstone grillhouse! hope you prosper well! thanks so much for the best dining experience i have ever had! by the way, as i write this two hours later, we are still satiated!
