eat great food, and elbows.. love the food, the sammy burger is just amazingly delicious. fast serives, good value, nice staff, but thisplaceis already too successful for it's footprint. if you constantly pack the house, (with wait times) it's time to get a bigger house. this is not the right building for this. need a biggerplacewith more parking, or need to do some majorly creative expanding. they run the risk of having everyone walk away saying "the food is great but i just don't want to deal with the crowd so let's not go there."

thisplaceis always crowded at lunch. i was able to get a bar seat which i think helped get a little more attentive service. i got the bourbon burger and fries. man, it was a thick burger cooked a nice medium. the meat itself didn't have much flavor but the toppings gave plenty of flavors to the burger overall. the bourbon sauce was good but could have used a little more. my advice, get there early (before 11:30) or wait till 12:30 and you should be able to get a seat.

sammy's in blue ash is a really solid burger!  i like that the menu has a nice variety of burgers from the simple classic cheeseburger to the maple bacon to the chili (and many more)! my favorite is the guacamole burger with chipotle mayo, guac, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and cheddar jack cheese.  so good!  i also really appreciate the honey kaiser roll that the burgers are served on.  it's a nice touch.  all burgers are served with fries.  i also love their onion rings!  last time we were there we started with the buffalo chicken rolls- great heat and flavor on those!  overall, decent prices and solid, all beef burger!  if you don't like beef, they also have chicken burgers, lamb burgers, and salmon burgers...something for everyone!  i would put this in your gps, it's probably not aplaceyou would just stumble upon!  definitely worth a visit if you like burgers!

i have to cast a dissenting vote here on sammys after a less than good experience there last night

i'll start with what went well. the smell of burgers cooking as i came in from the parking lot was excellent and gave me some high hopes for my meal. smelled like a summer picnic with dad on the charcoal grill. waitress was solidly good, answered my many questions, and allowed me to get half and half on my fries (half garlic, half sweet potato)

everything else went rather badly. for 12.00 i received an overcooked (mw when mr was requested) and fairly dry burger with shredded lettuce (at this price point, i expected a nice piece or two of leaf lettuce) one slice of cheese instead of the two i ordered and paid extra for, and no grilled onions. when i pointed out that there were no grilled onions, a dish of oil-soaked barely cooked (no browning, no charring) onions was brought to me to add . i had asked if the bun was toasted or grilled in the aforementioned many questions, was told it was toasted, but this one wasn't. the fries brought to me on the first try were the wrong kind, and the ones that were brought to me as a correction were cold, old, and lacking anything remotely resembling crispness

i was asked how my experience was on the way out, and was honest about it. i did not expect to be comped, but it is nice to be offered to be comped or at least discounted, and i wasn't.

it is clear to me that thisplacehas the ability to put out much better food than i received, but on this night, that wasn't the case. i won't be returning.

not impressed. we had high hopes that thisplacewould live up to its reputation as a great burger place. both off our burgers were so overdone that we had to send them back (ordered them medium rare). catfish burger was definitely the best. also, can't respect aplacethat tried to pass off flavored mayonnaise as tzatziki sauce

properly cooked; great service. we stumbled upon thisplacewhen we were staying at hotel in blue ash. before leaving town we stopped in to grab a bite to eat. let me tell you we were surprised. we ordered two burgers (i can't even remember what kind) but they were cooked exactly to order. so few places know how to cook a burger properly its amazing. we also had an awesome waiter who was helpful in suggesting the bottle caps. man was he right. they were delicious! it's not a low calorie meal by all means but for the first time in a while it was worth every calorie.

burgers are ok, not great and not gourmet. my wife and i ate at sammy's on a cold sunday evening a few week ago. there were maybe 10 people in the restaurant counting ourselves, yet the service was slow. the restaurant is decorated like a cross between a barbeque restaurant with pine tables and a sports bar with televisions hanging everywhere you look. so don't let the "gourmet" part of the name fool you.

we each had burgers. i had the sammy burger and my wife had a teriyaki burger (or something like that). both burgers were "ok", but not worthy of the praise they have received in the press. each had good toppings, but the burgers themselves overall were nothing special. the burgers were huge, however, so we did get our money's worth in terms of quantity. however, i suggest leaving off the lettuce and tomato - they just take up space and take away from the taste of the other toppings.

my wife had fries with her burger; the fries were pretty good. i had the slaw, which was good, but nothing special.

perhaps the problem is that i like my burger to be a juicy ground beef patty with good flavor, not a flavorless gray round slab that is just aplaceto stack various toppings, which is how we classify sammy's.

there are enough similar restaurants in town to try that i don't see a reason to return to sammy's.

decent burger. i'd give sammy's a 5/10. it's in kind of an odd spot for a restaurant, and coming from the west on creek rd., it's very easy to take a wrong turn while trying to get there as that road changes direction and forks a number of times. i kind of used up an entire lunch break trying to find theplace:/
i appreciate the variety on the menu, it shows that they're trying to be creative and truly offer gourmet burgers.
on the plus side, they actually chose formidable buns (kaiser) instead of flimsy ones that would get soggy. also, the fries are crispy and have a slightly spicy cajun-esque seasoning. also, a rather discrete exterior hides a well-taken care of interior.
on the downside, the burgers do indeed have a bit of a funny taste to them. they almost taste like they're made of sausage or something. also, they need to add some more exotic toppings to their burgers to make them live up to the namesake of "gourmet". for instance, the chipotle burger i got should've perhaps had slices of chipotle peppers or at least fresh jalepeno slices. change the soggy shredded lettuce for some arugala. give the chipotle mayo more of a kick.
overall, not a bad burger place, but it could definitely make some improvements. also, while their burgers are relatively good, they are not worth the exorbitant prices they are listed for - a mediocre quality burger does not warrant a $9 + price tag. a decentplaceto go if you're in the area, but not worth hopping towns for, and certainly not deserving of being ranked in the top 50 of the city.

i've eaten at sammy's severl times now and each time the food has been very good and service prompt, even when theplaceis packed. the fries are good, and i especially like the garlic fries. the bf had ordered a regular burger, chili burger (twice), and the mushroom burger. he has proclaimed them all very tasty. i've ordered the veggie burger, which is grilled veggies and not a patty. i especially like the fact that the grilled veggies include zucchini, besides the typical mushrooms, onions and peppers. the buns are very soft and fresh and very tasty. they also stand up the the grilled veggies. per the bf, the large beer is too large and the small beer too small. each time i eat at sammy's i can't wait to go back.

not just the burgers are great. after hitting thisplaceup the first time, i've been back about once a week since. burgers are definitely top notch. lots of different styles and toppings to chose from. my wife had the french onion soup and proclaimed it one of the best. i've also tried some of their fish offerings during lent and was really impressed with the crispy crust and tender fish. the garlic fries are okay. they could be less greasy. the 32 oz. draught beers are a godsend on hot afternoons. my only gripe is that the tables near the kitchen catch occasional whiffs of sewer gas either from the bathrooms or exhaust fans. take a table by the front door or better yet, sit on the patio during the warmer months.
