disclaimer: i love pork. 

the rusty fork is an instant american bbq throwback, with some limitations. the ambiance is about 70 percent there. great blues and country music, "modern rustic" decor and a large outdoor space. this restaurant screams, get me a beer and a rack of ribs. the limitations in regards to the ambiance come at the cost of trying to be an upscale cocktail bar (most cocktails over 60tl)  slash instagram heavy photo experiment. this is most notable in the gaudy purple lights when the sun goes down and the excessively large bouquet of purple and white flours in the corner of the outdoor space. i simply just don't get it. but that the same time... i get it in regards to most of your clientele. do me a favor though, stick to your guns. 

now let's get to the meat of the situation.  like the decor, the food had its ups and downs. overall though the menu was plentiful and the pork options were on point. we started with a sampler plate, side of mac and cheese and shared the baby back pork ribs as the entree. note: though their price points are high across the board, the amount of food was more than enough for two people. the meal was topped off with a bourbon pecan stuff pie. 

the lows: the onion rings and the mozzarella dippers were really the only two lows of the meal. the onions rings were overfriedand close to burnt with a heavy and chewy batter. the mozzarella dippers, or sticks as i call them, were too big with a batter that had no taste. these are two items to avoid. lastly, while the wings were good, the provided dipping sauce was watery and thin. give me blue cheese or a thicker yogurt with buffalo wings, please :) 

the mediums: the bourbon pecan pie. this was so close to being amazing. the taste was there but the "pie" itself was dry and reminded me more of a mosaic cake. if you are going to put a dollop of ice cream over some pie, the pie needs to be moist, warm and soft.  

the highs: easily put the baby back ribs did not disappoint. they were tender, fall of the bone, style ribs with a great tangy bbq sauce on top. the fries were great to boot. not falling far behind were the potato skins with bacon on top. easily a return order for me on both fronts. 

rusty fork is certainly a place i will return and a great place for some beers and greasy spoon food. not sure if i will dive into their cocktail's but easily can be a place to go with some friends and enjoy a cool summer night outside. just do me a favor and dim the purple lighting as i am enjoying my ribs and beer.

yine en favori restoranlarımın başında gelen @therustyforkistanbul ile sizlerleyim. aslında burayı sizlere paylaşmaya bir 4-5 ay önce niyetlenmiştim ama hava okadar karanlıktı ki fotoğraflar kötü çıktığından sadece story atabilmiştim.
@chefmuratbozok ‘un danışmanlık verdiği nadir bir kaç restorandan biri olan rustyfork size bir kaç saatliğinede olsa “american dream”i yaşatacaktır.
bugünkü başlangıç tercihlerimiz dana etli nachos ve brisketli spring rolls oldu aslında ortalamanın çok üstümdeydi ama beni asıl üzen pandemiden dolayı içinde bütün apetizerların bulunduğu combo tabağını bir süreliğine kaldırmış olmaları tam olarak everything little little dedikleri işte tam olarak o oluyor.
ana yemek olarak cowboy steakler ve southerfriedchicken tercih ettik öncelikle şunu söyleyeyim cowboy steak net olarak 2 kişilik bir yemek özellikle başlangıç falanda söylediyseniz yerken kesiliyormuyum acaba diye bir düşündüm çünkü bu bana asla olmaz:) ama tadı o kadar güzeldi ki rib eye kısmı benim diyen steakhouselara taş çıkartır üstünde ise baharatlı ve barbekü soslu küçük bir blok tereyağı yağı ile servis ediliyor ki bu yemeği 1 tık yukarı taşımış. bir de benim gibi viski tanından hoşlananlarınız var ise yine bu yemek 48 saat çektirilmiş viskiden üretilen özel bir barbekü sosu ile servis ediliyor.
southernfriedchicken ise yine çok çok güzel. harika marine edilmiş ve tavuğun göğüş kısmından yapılıyor ama çok iyi panelenmiş ve kızartılmış olduğundan kuru değil aynı zamanda çok aromatik belki başlangıc olarak da tercih edilebilir çok aç iseniz.
sonuç olarak gerek ferah ambiansı gerek amerika’nın bağırından kopup gelmiş yemekleri olsun biz burayı çok seviyoruz ve mutlaka sizlerede öneririz.

rusty burger, bourbon bbq chicken, mozzarella dippers vefriedchicken yedik. özellikle bbq chickenin tavugu lokum gibiydi. yanindaki tatlı patateslerin lezzeti tarifsiz. kış icin sigara icme alanı biraz küçük bu nedenle haftasonlari mutlaka rezervasyonla gidilmeli. frid chicken porsiyon olarak büyük. 2 kişilikti diyebilirim. servis kusursuzdu. memnun ayrildik. mutlaka tekrar ugrayacağim.

i̇çerisine girdiğiniz andan itibaren amerikan tasarımıyla sizi cezbedeceğinden emin olabileceğiniz bir mekan. i̇nanılmaz zevkli döşenmiş, mekanın tasarımında kullanılan aksesuarlardan, çatal-bıçak-servis takımlarına kadar her şeye bayıldım. yiyecekler ise aralarında “en iyi” belirlemeye zorlayacak kadar üzerinde emek harcanmış ve lezzetliydiler. yine de içlerinden en sevdiklerimfriedjalapeno, southernfriedshrimps, bacon& cheddar potato skins, baby back ribs ve tatlılardan da bourbon pecan pie oldu. smoked texas sosis türk damak tadına çok yakın sucuğumsu ve epey farklı bir lezzetti. kokteyllerden ise hot birdie sweet-sour severlerin favorisi olabilecek, hafif de acılı keyifli bir kokteyldi.

etilerin sıkıcı bir atmosferi olduğunu düşünürken, böyle saklı bir bahçeye gelmek limon ağaçlarının, şık kafeslerin arasında bulunmak huzurlu ve keyifli bir deneyimdi. servis ekibi ilgili ve bilgililer, en çok dikkat ettiğim şeylerden olan temizlik konusunda da tam puan alabilecek bir yer. emeklerine sağlık, hala daha yemeği” deneyim” olarak sunarken, kendimizi aynı zamanda rahat ve bir şekilde evde hissedebileceğimiz yerlerin olması çok güzel.

rustyfork’a altı hafta önce, çok aç değilken gittik.friedjalapeño, southernfriedshrimps ve southernfriedchicken denedik. bir kere porsiyonlar büyük, soslar çok iyi ve etlerin yanında da bol bol patates geliyor. o kadar ki patatesleri paketletmek zorunda kaldık. biz özelliklefriedjalapeñoyu çok beğendik. hem acı, hem ekşi, hem kızarmış nefisti. karides güzeldi ama bir daha gitsek başka bir şey söylemeyi tercih ederiz. tavuk da çok iyi marine edilmiş, pamuk gibi olmuştu ve çok doyurucuydu. i̇çkiler pahalı. bir bira ve yediklerimize 190₺ verdik.

yeni açılan mekan,servisi ilgisi alakası yemekleri muhteşem.southernfriedshrimp, potato skins,mac and cheese,buffalo wings denedik çok beğendik.tatlılardan da pecan pie favorimiz oldu, porsiyonlar gayet büyük.yazın bahçesinde oturmayı iple çekiyoruz.
