russillo's pizza and gelato

it's been wonderful being at russillo's. i've read some truly bad reviews and it saddens me. there has been so many changes to russillo's. all new staff and new management. the owners lonnie and myrna aregreatand they not only care for their staff, they care for their customers as well. we havegreatnew dishes and pizzas.

is there an "i want to like it" button?. russillo's has agreatlocation in track 29 with good outdoor seating, so it would be a wonderful place to go for a relaxing outdoor meal with friends. the trouble is that the service is consistently subpar...it's not as though they don't try, it's more like this is where all the brand-new servers with no restaurant experience work. splitting checks can have disastrous consequences (particularly if you have a time crunch or are doing anything other than splitting in half), drinks get forgotten multiple times in one visit, orders are wrong...all of those freshman mistakes that shouldn't be happening at an established restaurant. the food is about $3 overpriced for what you get, and the quality is still inconsistent between visits. i really want to come here and have agreattime! but russillo's still has some polishing of the basics to do first.

the pizza crust was light and crunchy perfect, needed a little more cheese. and the salad and cheesy bread great. the service was awesome loved the server he had agreatsaying ( for sure no worries ) . i highly recommend this place for everyone to try.

good pizza high price/vegetarian review. infinitely better than pizza hut, papa john's, domino's etc...however, it is pizza...dough with toppings. a large neopolitan pizza should not be so expensive. a neopolitan has the dough (which is good, but i request an extra few minutes in the oven for the best crunch/doneness), basil, tomatoes/sauce, and mozzarella...russillo's feels the need to add parmesan to the mix, which is fine, but not needed. i feel like this pizza is a good/great option for a vegetarian looking for a good pizza in yakima, as well as the other veggie options they have on the menu. they also have a menu item called the veggie roll...i like to order it without cheese and all the veggies, but it tends to be under-cooked. the oven is probably at a constant temperature (for maximum pizza doneness), and that is fine, but i would request the roll to be cooked for a few minutes longer to ensure the dough isn't, well, doughy. i have never had a "soggy" salad at russilos. the pasta is...well...meh...sauce is good, pasta tends to be overcooked. the service is excellent! especially if you are a "local". but don't be scared if you aren't, it's a fun place that is right downtown, has a good wine/beer selection and is a good place to take your family from out of town for some pizza and local wine. ps, did i mention the awesome staff?greatservers!!!

absolutely love the gelato!! the dining experience is so relaxing. my family ordered gelato and stayed for almost 2 hours enjoying orselves. i've met the owners and the new manager, they aregreatpeople!!!

great enough?. i have hadgreatfood here, crisp cold salads with explosive flavor from the hot crispy pizza. i hope they make it as it is tough for anyone to make it in downtown yakima... i'll be back!

almost as good as new york!. my husband and i recently moved here and thought that we would would be forced to exist on frozen or take and bake pizza. (we are both from the east coast and have had the luxury of eatinggreatpizza from new york) fortunately, we found russillo's, a pizza oasis. the crust is thin and crispy. the sauce zesty and seasoned perfectly. the pizza is not greasy either. the inside of the restaurant is kitschy and i suspect you better be good friends with neighboring tables when they are busy. they do have ample outdoor seating on the boardwalk which is perfect for a cool evening. our waitress was very attentive and our pizza came out very quickly. the prices are excellent. the only complaint that i have is that they seem to have a small menu....they don't have antipastas or any fried mozzerella. if you have eaten here yet, what are you waiting for?

worth the wait. we have dined at russillo's at all three locations - and this one (now owned and operated by mike bastinelli) is by far the best! the food was always good - but at the other locations it seemed to take forever to get it... at the current location on track 29, the service is much improved, the food is incredible, and the atmosphere great! we had a large party out on the deck over the summer and mike took care of us and treated us well. for outdoor seating - this place is a much... and now that it is getting colder - the indoor feel is just as fun - although a bit more intimate!

we couldn't choose and had a pizza with 1/2 bbq chicken, and 1/2 chicken pesto - sooooooo good! of course, to end the meal - we splurged on the delicious gelato too!

rumor has it they also deliver? i haven't tried that yet as i am way out west - but what agreatidea!

big eater. one of the nicest places we have ever been to, everything wasgreatand the customer service was outstanding. both the owners made sure that we were taken care. mikes meat sauce was the best, and we purchased some of the spices that they sell in the location. wish they had a location on the west side we would certainly go there more ofter.
