roppongi japanese steak & sushi

i had not been to roppongi since they first opened. my husband and i went with another couple last night, we arrived around 7pm and were seated quickly at the hibachi table. our waiter nick promptly took our drink order and asked if we wanted appetizers. we got the springrolls($6 for three small rolls). they were good, but would have liked a sweet & sour sauce for dipping. three of us opted for hibachi and the other in our party got sushi. it took a little while for the show to start, but we were enjoying the company of our friends. the show was the same as any other hibachi show, but the food was excellent. i had the strip and my husband the chicken hibachi. although i did not try the sushi rolls, they were large and looked delicious.  the hibachi came with soup and salad, along with rice, noodles, grilled vegetables and your choice of meat. our bill for two people was $77 which included the appetizer, two mixed drinks and two beers. it was a very enjoyable evening with friends. i can't wait to go back and try the sushi for myself.

disappointing dinner. we had a party of six for hibachi and sushi. wait staff were friendly and hibachi chef entertaining, however a little annoying when he wanted to put a piece of chicken down the front of my shirt and then retrieve it (i am a female and didn't find this humorous). we ordered sushi to start with and hibachi for dinner. we recieved one of the sushirollstowards the end of dinner and the other threerollsafter we were finished with our dinner. once i located our waiter to inform him that we were not interested in recieving ourrollsafter we were done eating, not much was done. so now i have decaying fish in my refrigerator. considering there are two other very nice hibachi restraunts in evansville, which we patron on a regular basis, i will not be returning. the food was mediocre, pricey and the sushi should have been taken off our bill with no excuses. there are better places to spend my time and money. i will not be returning.

wonderful experience. i think i have tried sushi in every place in evansville and this place is tops! i had two sushirollsand both were very fresh and prepared great. the atmosphere was wonderful and the service was good. will definitely return there when i get back to evansville. im still learning my way around a sushi menu but will try something different next time i go.

the sushirollsare large and full of flavor. not just your typical sushi place. lots of creative options.
