i've been to every sushi resturant in evansville, on multiple occasions, and this is easily my new favorite spot. i've been here 4 times since they opened, and have never been disappointed. excellent sushi and service. every server has been friendly and helpful.

great sushi terrible service. the sushi here is fantastic. the derby roll in particular is delicious. we had terrible service. the bartender was our waiter and he spent a lot of time chatting with a couple girls at the bar while we waited and waited for our drinks. we also waited way too long (around ten minutes after we put our card in the folder) to pay our bill while he and
another employee talked to one
another. very annoying. hopefully, roppongi will work out the service issues because the food is excellent.

great sushi. i have been several times but have ordered only sushi and appetizers. the sushi has been excellent every time. in fact, it's probably my favorite sushi in town. service has been good in my experience too. the atmosphere is fine but nothing really unique. the seating floor plan is rather open with the hibachi tables in the center and the regular seating around the sides. there are no booths, and if you are seated at a table that shares the bench along the wall, you could be almost elbow-to-elbow with another party, just in case you like to have privacy when dining. the bar is operational now.

recommended dishes (sushi): red bull roll, 007 roll, derby roll.

they lied about wait times. we were told forty minutes. an hour later we were told it would be an additional 45 minutes. i will likely not be returning.

drove an hour and a half to eat here after we called before leaving to see if we can be seated before 2 and we were told yes it wouldn’t be a problem. i emphasized this very specifically .. yet here we are looking for somewhere else to eat . what a waste of time. this is very disappointing for a place that is supposed to be very good at what they do ..

worst restaurant we've been to in a very long time. food took forever to prepare, was overcooked, shrimp was chewy, steak was dry. it had very little flavor, small portions, & was very over priced, 3 ate-2 had shrimp, 1 steak & shrimp, 1 tea, 1 soda, 1 water, no appetizers-barely under $89 before the tip, they charged an extra each $2.50 for fried rice cooked in hamburger grease. my husband said we should have complained, my daughter laughed & said-she was afraid they'd give us a gift card to return. waste of time, waste of money.

i had not been to roppongi since they first opened. my husband and i went with another couple last night, we arrived around 7pm and were seated quickly at the hibachi table. our waiter nick promptly took our drink order and asked if we wanted appetizers. we got the spring rolls ($6 for three small rolls). they were good, but would have liked a sweet & sour sauce for dipping. three of us opted for hibachi and the other in our party got sushi. it took a little while for the show to start, but we were enjoying the company of our friends. the show was the same as any other hibachi show, but the food was excellent. i had the strip and my husband the chicken hibachi. although i did not try the sushi rolls, they were large and looked delicious.  the hibachi came with soup and salad, along with rice, noodles, grilled vegetables and your choice of meat. our bill for two people was $77 which included the appetizer, two mixed drinks and two beers. it was a very enjoyable evening with friends. i can't wait to go back and try the sushi for myself.

this place is a joke and rip off!!! run for your life. don't waste your money. we've been eating here on and off and the food is standard. we were in the area and ordered sushi and fixed and the food was over $$40????? what the @$!!!.. to add insult to injury, i requested hot sauce - cheap sriracha sauce and they charged me $3.00. $3 for hot sauce when i can get a 16 oz bottle for less than $3.00. complete joke. not coming back!!!!

mixed. the food was delicious --- one member of our party said it was the best sushi in evansville --- and the service was excellent. but, another member of our party got stomach cramps within two hours of dining there. the additional downsides are the prices --- too pricey for what you get and on plastic dinnerware and without much of anything in the way of atmospherics or decoration --- and the lack of properly dressed customers considering the high prices. it's best, we thought, to get a private table rather than sit around an hibachi table because then you are not seated immediately next to others who might well ruin your dining experience with their appearance, behavior, language, or all three. if management wants to maintain current price levels, they would be wise to implement a dress code --- the better restaurants do so and it need not be at the level of coat and tie. porcelain dinnerware would be a welcome improvement too.

great sushi, service so-so. sushi was wonderful and waitstaff was attentive, up until we went to pay our bill. server mentioned buy one get one half off on appetizers so we ordered two appetizers, received the bill and it was not correct, she went to correct the bill and still brought back the same bill after having run our credit card. offered drink refill but never got it. would love to return for the food but the service needs to be upgraded. spent over $80 for 2 people dining and the food was well worth it but the service was still lacking.

sushi good, hibachi table most disappointing. just to keep it short---sushi some of the best.
habachi table worst i've been to. the chef was slopping, slinging food onto the plates, getting it all over table. worried it was going to splatter on my clothes. food items served one at a time, had to eat everything by itself. food had little if any flavor and some of it overcooked. very poor presentation. chef wrongly served one of the guest shrimp that he didn't order. gusest had already started eating when cook discovered mistake. he embarrassed the guest and made a comment that he should leave a larger tip. would not desire to go to the hibachi table again.

mediocre, not my favorite for sushi or hibachi. roppongi was not bad but not great either. first, i had expected the interior of the restaurant to be a lot nicer judging from the exterior. in terms of atmosphere, roppongi was fine but if you sat in a booth, the tables and booths were kind of cheap looking while nagasaki really has a nice decor with the pond and bridges and fish tanks.

i ordered the bento box for $24 and my husband ordered the chicken bolgogi. they first brought out salads and soup. both were fine, but i much prefer nagasaki's salad dressing and soup. then they brought a spicy tuna hand roll that came with my bento. that was probably the highlight for me. i'd never had a hand roll, and i enjoyed the spiciness.

the bento came with tempura shrimp and vegetables (sweet potato and potato) and that was pretty good. the california roll was not bad but just meh. i would say the hibachi vegetables, shrimp and beef were a little on the cool temperature side - not bad, but the beef was kind of odd. it was like they had cut a cross section through a rib, rather than serve it length-wise, so you were getting a small bone with meat around it.

my husband's chicken bolgogi was one of the menu recommended items, but it was pretty disappointing. the pieces of chicken had a really odd texture - almost looked like chicken livers to me. the sauce on the chicken and noodles was ok, but far from a favorite, and neither of us would have listed this entree as a signature dish to the restaurant.

so overall it was not a bad experience - the service was good, but if i want hibachi i won't come back again but will go to nagasaki or even zuki.
