rocket 88

we have heard about rocket 88.
it's has good food and a relaxed atmosphere with a good buzz. a must try for a sunday with the family.

the sirvice was good and friendly. we are looking forward to going back soon.

a fun and warm vibe with a menu that suit your needs! this restaurant is worth the visit as the menu has a wide variety of delicious food and the decorations are quite interesting.

if you crave real south african food, this is the place to be. they have traditional braai cuisine on their menu and the portions are huge. enjoy the vibe there, great for a casual lunch or dinner with friends. rocket 88 is especially a hit for guys with a big appetite.

we had a late lunch at this establishment today.my 3rd time there.my first experience was with my daughter as she discovered they serve skilpaadjies,which she is very fond off.my food on arrival was cold, not even room temperature. asked for food to be warmed up in microwave.second visit i made a point of asking to plse make sure my food was hot due to previous experience.today ordered fillet steak and strus bob ice cold.medium rare requested and sent back to relieve a luke warm pice of fitted back that was now well done and chips now cold.waiter did not even try to inform manager that we were unhappy.will never see us again!

best prices on drinks, friendly and good service! braai themed restaurant with optional sides. the fact that you build your own plate is a positive

my wife and i decided to go to have breakfast on saturday the 8th of august 2020. the waitress serving us had no clue as to the table requirements, manners. she had to be asked to bring sault then pepper and eating utensils. the food quality has also did not impress and decreased considerably as on could compare our bill to that of other general restaurants. when the bill arrived i found that none of the machines were able to work, minutes later the waitress arrived and then produced a new bill as she had forgotten to add the two coffees we had ordered prior to the meal. i was shocked the manager walked around never asked if we were ok and was jesting with staff sitting at the table eating bread and coffee. i am not a happy chap and will not visit soon again. guys word of mouth is important and i used to do lunches with colleagues and associates, but alas not again....

i am so disappointed in rock@88 (rocket 88) lynnwood. i used to love this place and the service used to be great.  i love the food, especially the garlic bread, bacon sosaties and potato salad. yesterday my dad and i wanted to have a celebratory beer after the springbok world cup victory. it was about 14h00 in the afternoon. after greeting the waiter at the door, we politely asked him if he could throw away my coffee cup, since i could not find a bin between groenkloof butchery and rocket 88. he flat out refused, and seemed irritated with us. we walked in and he did not follow or offer us a table for two. for this reason we decided to find our own way and hope a more cheerful and helpful waiter would approach us. some waiters started hovering near us, only to (loudly) move a bunch of tables and chairs around. all the waiters seemed irritable. no one even noticed us. after a few minutes, feeling really disappointed, we decided to leave. no one noticed or cared or greeted us. what a shame for rocket 88. overall impression: rocket 88 could not care less about its customers. it's a crying shame.

first visit to rock@88 with friends. when we got there, we were taken to our table. our waitress took good care of us and i liked the “green-red block” that you can turn up and down (red - you need service or green- everything still ok). good variety of meals on the menu. we had the following:
biltong soup (7/10)
braai broodjie (8/10) with pork neck steak (8/10)
ribs on roosterkoek (8/10)
boerie roll (6/10)
burger (7/10)
spicy wings (4/10)
a bit disappointed with the wings, but the rest of the food was ok.

yesterday was my first eating experience at this branch of rock@88; and absolutely my last. i ordered skilpadjies (dry and tasteless), crumbed mushrooms (soggy and and lukewarm) and kaiings (soggy, not crispy at all). even after sending it back, the quality of the new food did not improve much. this rubbish must have been heated in a microwave or cold/old oil was used to prepare the food. the service was mediocre as we constantly had to look for our waitress. when i compare this to rock@ moreletta, the lynwood branch might as well close its doors. they will never see us again.

after having so many pleasant experiences at rocket 88, this past saturday we went back but this time around wasn’t all that.

it seemed like the meal portions have considerably shrunk and we definitely had the last scoop of the potato salad. it consisted of mostly mayo and 5 very shy pieces of potato. the cheese on the braaibroodjie was also not completely melted, but good nonetheless.

after looking over to the other table across from us the lady had a very generous portion of potato salad and it seemed way more appetizing than mine.

other than that the beer was cold and the service was excellent!

everything braai, at its best! great drinks, cocktails, cheapest stella artois draught in town. building your own plate of braai delights tasting better than you could ever do it yourself! coming here forever!

very cool vibe..our first time at rock@88 moreleta park and we really enjoyed it. the food was delicious and the portions was nice and big. the ribs was so tender it fell of the bone...and the cheese grillers was definitely full of cheese. the service we good was really good..in the cold they moved a bon fire closer to us which made us warm and gave thr night a cool vibe..really south african braai kuier.

we went to your restaurant in moreletta. and it was amazing. the service was great, the food was brilliant and the best part was the atmosphere. i liked your idea of the service block on the table. i also liked the fact that you compensated for the cold by putting in those heaters. it was a great experience. tank you.i

it’s a very great place with an awesome atmosphere, to have brunch and extend to late night hang 😛 with your buddies, their “local is lekker” that gets my friend to not see anything else in the menu because she can’t seem to get over their paptert and their juicy rump with traditional boerewors, not forgetting their cocktails 🍹, with a very affordable prices of theirs we keep going back every chance we get.

my first visit and what a great venue. good atmosphere and the service is great. their sirloin steak with a pepper sauce was lovely. also had their braai broodtjies. very lekker. their prices are very reasonable. well done guys.
