a fun and warm vibe with amenuthat suit your needs! this restaurant is worth the visit as themenuhas a wide variety of delicious food and the decorations are quite interesting.

if you crave real south african food, this is the place to be. they have traditional braai cuisine on theirmenuand the portions are huge. enjoy the vibe there, great for a casual lunch or dinner with friends. rocket 88 is especially a hit for guys with a big appetite.

it’s a very great place with an awesome atmosphere, to have brunch and extend to late night hang 😛 with your buddies, their “local is lekker” that gets my friend to not see anything else in themenubecause she can’t seem to get over their paptert and their juicy rump with traditional boerewors, not forgetting their cocktails 🍹, with a very affordable prices of theirs we keep going back every chance we get.

an awesome looking shop. the food was great but watch out for their drinks. their drinks are deadly. after an dining there with the evil shooters, my brain functioned well but legs were a little wobbly 😂. the service is great,menuis good but just a tad expensive. overall i would say that this is a great place and definitely worth recommending.

loooooooove!!!!!! we went on a friday afternoon & struggled to get a table but i can see why this place is so popular - it's awesome!!!!!! good service & a nice vibe. great for a fun afternoon or evening out.

they have great drinks specials & an awesome cocktail & jam jar list. themenuhas a great variety & offers something for everyone. everything looks so good i really struggled to decide what to have.

for a starter we shared the bacon & cherry wheels & the cheesy jalapeño bites - amazing! i could have eaten a whole plate filled with these. for mains my one friends had the burger which was really good (fresh bun & a tasty patty are always a winner) & another friend had the fillet with a braaibroodjie on the side. the fillet was very tender & tasty. i had the boerie roll which was great (tasty & juicy) but i wasn't crazy about the pink sauce they put on it, i think it would be better with a sheba type of sauce.

the only downside is it is a bit scruffy (sticky tables, dirty / old cushions on the benches, dirty floors & bathroom) but i would definitely go back (often!).

i took my entire management evening out for dinner after a long hard day at the office. they are the type that would opt for such a place and they enjoyed it thoroughly. i booked a biggish table and upon arrival the service was great. the food on he other hand was amazing. prices are good and i can highly recommend this venue. will definitely be back. not a great winemenuand that is about the only thing they need to work on.

bar & braai... you had me at braai... what self-respecting south african would say no to a braai, or a bar for that matter?  what started as a quick stop for dinner turned into a booking to celebrate hubbys' birthday with friends.

they have a packedmenufull of mouth-watering south african favourites including the crowd-pleaser, a braaibroodjie.  so apart from the complete dishes, the braaimenuconsists of three things.... pick you meat, pick your starch, pick your sides.  anything from paptert to pampoenkoekies to pork chops.  and super affordable too since you pick how much goes onto the plate. 

we had a ball here and sadly, once again, no space for dessert.  (though the milkshakes are delicious too.)   so if you are keen to have a drink while watching the big game on one of the many flatscreens, or in the mood for a braai without all the work of a braai, this is the place to be.  we'll be back.... again...

great drinks , and good jam jars , i had the jar in my pants , and my companion had the braai broodjie , the prices are reasonable . a lot to choose from on themenu, there is a lot of seating to choose from . unfortunately the seating and tables was really dirty. will go there again to try out the food ....

enjoyed our first time at rocket 88. atmosphere was nice for a monday. decor and layout is awesome. themenuis different from your average restaurantmenuwhich was interesting.. unfortunately the food was only ok. we would like to try the place again over a weekend!

heard a lot of hype around this place and i've been dying to give it a whirl. opening themenureveals what i like in a restaurant, simple foods, but combined and prepared in a way that i can appreciate. atmosphere: quiet lunchtime, but there were a few other tables in there. we sat outside and combined with a nice cool day, the place had a good feel about it. service: waitress was super friendly and gave some suggestions that turned out to be a winner. food and drinks. today i felt daring and went with a steelworx and my mom had the ice tea with kiwi and cucumber. i would of appreciated my drink mixed a bit as the first taste was about a gallon of bitters and the garnish on the cucumber ice tea was a bit overboard. still acceptable though. food arrived pretty quickly. i ordered ribs and half onion rings and half chips. my mom the jaffel with chips. good choices. ribs came with a sweet and spicy sauce and tasted great. my mom said the filling of the jaffel was a smidgen bland and was missing something. besides those minor qualms the place get a thumbs up. lunch for 2 with drinks came to 250 with tip. very fair. i'll be back.

one of my favourite hangout spots in pta. i go to rocket frequently and have always had great food and service. menu has a good variety of unique options which are based on the "afrikaans" heritage which you cannot easily find at other restaurants. they also do some drinks specials which is great for a couple of after work drinks with your colleagues.

rocket 88 is quite a popular new hangout in the area. strangely enough the centre where they opened used to be quite dead and the previous restaurant always seemed empty, but since rocket 88 opened it has been buzzing and busy almost every night. themenuis quite original, but with space for improvement to be a bit more vegetarian friendly. eitherway, the place has a great vibe and is ideal for the younger market.

rockett 88 bar & braai is popular and for good reason. we sat outside and enjoyed the late winter sunshine. i love that one chooses one's own combinations of food from the menu.
lamb chops, grilled on the braai with boereboontjies: green beans, sliced finely and stewed with potato & onion. delicious, delicious, delicious!
the children had pampoenkoekies (pumpkin fritters) and potato bake as sides - all tasty.
service was friendly (rachel) but the food took ages to come. one is warned on themenuthat it takes at least 30 min!

wonderlike bykos. groenboontjies, pampoenkoekies en aartappelgebak soos ouma dit maak. en braaibroodjies. heerlik! kos 4.5/5!

there are quite a few options on themenuand really delicious food. had jaffels and it was wonderful (can't remember when last i had jaffels so it was a nice change from the ordinary). cocktails were very good and the waiter was very attending to all the diners. i can really recommend rocket 88.
