great atmosphere and excellent friendly service. good braaivleis and traditional braaivleis dishes. not everyone's cup of tea. let's be honest we all like our own way at a braai.

absolutely great menu! really wonderful breakfast offering, great traditional things like rooster koek. i look forward to visiting for lunch or dinner to enjoy a platter with friends. well done to the team!

love the atmosphere, the staff are friendly and welcoming , the food is tasty and reminds me of good home cooking. very south african . the service could be improved.

attended at friend's birthday party here on a cold but busy saturday night. service was ok, had to re-order my water 3 times before it actually came (a bottle, not tap). maybe just confusion caused by the large table. interesting concept surrounding food. love that you can build your own plate with a large array of options for both breakfast and lunch/dinner. would recommend the pampoenkoekies, the braaibroodjie which got rave reviews was however quite bland. will return and sample some new things. qaulity of the meat is outstanding.

it's a very chilled restaurant with a nice atmosphere.the food tasted similar to braaivleis you can make at home. my family and i visited the restaurant on a sunday afternoon so it wasn't as busy as it normally is at night. the service was a bit slow and it took very long for our food to arrive and when we were finished we ordered milkshakes which also took about 20min to arrive. the pumpkin fritters and other side dishes were amazing,but the meat was a bit inconsistent(3 of my family members ordered the same size medium rare steak and they all got different sizes with different degrees of welness).

looking for proper "boere kos" ?? this is where you want to be!

from their braai broodjies and garlic bread to their burgers, pork, chicken and beef!! so so so good!

great drinks , and good jam jars , i had the jar in my pants , and my companion had the braai broodjie , the prices are reasonable . a lot to choose from on the menu , there is a lot of seating to choose from . unfortunately the seating and tables was really dirty. will go there again to try out the food ....

enjoyed our first time at rocket 88. atmosphere was nice for a monday. decor and layout is awesome. the menu is different from your average restaurant menu which was interesting.. unfortunately the food was only ok. we would like to try the place again over a weekend!

great vibe and very busy for a friday afternoon. took me some time to find parking though. they had savanna loco which most places don't serve. the promo girls doing their rounds with the jagers was entertaining . for me to up the vibe they needed bit more music especially sitting outside. food was nice but a bit cold. nice place just to go chill and have drinks with friends.

rocket 88 is definitely a place for meat lovers but if you're vegetarian you can easily combine some of the side dishes to create a meal. our waitress was very friendly and checked in quite regeularly. they're prices are reasonable for their food and cocktails. i have to say with my options being limited the food was pretty average for me. i do however like the idea of coming to get a braaibroodjie when i crave it because i'm always too lazy to braai.

heard a lot of hype around this place and i've been dying to give it a whirl. opening the menu reveals what i like in a restaurant, simple foods, but combined and prepared in a way that i can appreciate. atmosphere: quiet lunchtime, but there were a few other tables in there. we sat outside and combined with a nice cool day, the place had a good feel about it. service: waitress was super friendly and gave some suggestions that turned out to be a winner. food and drinks. today i felt daring and went with a steelworx and my mom had the ice tea with kiwi and cucumber. i would of appreciated my drink mixed a bit as the first taste was about a gallon of bitters and the garnish on the cucumber ice tea was a bit overboard. still acceptable though. food arrived pretty quickly. i ordered ribs and half onion rings and half chips. my mom the jaffel with chips. good choices. ribs came with a sweet and spicy sauce and tasted great. my mom said the filling of the jaffel was a smidgen bland and was missing something. besides those minor qualms the place get a thumbs up. lunch for 2 with drinks came to 250 with tip. very fair. i'll be back.

rocket 88 is odly a very wholesome place to eat, with traditional sa meals and friendly staff. what's really remarkable though are their low prices. you can have a fun night for under r100. something that sounds really good to this student...

we visited rocket88 and didn't quite enjoy the experience. the service was terrible and the food wasn't anything to rave about. i think it isn't a family kind of restaurant if you're wanting to go for an event.
