fried chicken is one of my favourite dishes. the fried chicken fromredpepper bistro is not grassy. more than 10 choices. i have ordered chilli hot chicken and garlic soy sauce chicken. taste so good. serving is big. half size is good for 2 people and you could still order another veggie dish or a full chicken for more than 3 people. the glass noodle is tasty as well

live today like you’re getting fried tomorrow

but seriously, can you hear the crunch looking at the pics?😂

nothing can express how deep is my love for the fried chicken atredpepper bistro in strathfield 🥰 i swear whenever we go there, we always end up a few kilos heavier cos honestly look how good the food is.

the quality of the food is superb; the fried chicken is always crunchy on the outside but joocy on the inside. this time, we had the kim chi pancake with cheese and every bite was such a delight, sent me to heaven and back. the spicy topokki was a nice compliment to the meal and defs a must have if youre looking for that extra kick🌶

best fried chook in sydney. always juicy, incredibly crispy and spicy. icg &redpepper are always adding new flavours too, but i always go for the og classic hot & spicy gangjung... the venue is way roomier and comfy compared to about up to a year ago thanks to the renovations. beer is not pricey either because it's in a sports club.

first time visitingredpepper in years and the place has changed so much! interior is much more aesthetic and relaxed. lots of room and good for groups. we didn't have to wait in line too long however we did go on a weekday.

the soy fried chicken was the best dish. the creamy onion chicken was a bit too heavy on the sauce and tasted like mayo, and the sweet and spicy chicken was too sweet for my liking. i prefer boned chicken over boneless chicken because it keeps the meat juicy. the black bean noodles were very bland - the noodles didn't absorb much of the sauce. the cold noodles were great - it's hard to go wrong but it was the first time i'd ever tried green tea noodles! japchae was perfectly flavoured. will definitely come back to try more dishes.

is this really the best fried chicken in sydney? i feel like that's a pretty hard question to answer now as there are so many great korean fried chicken joints around, and it's more a question of which flavours each top tier establishment excels at.redpepper and their other icg counterparts definitely have a few varieties that they do best, and here in the sports club they also have a few other things going for them.

first off, i've had all their chicken at least a couple of times now, and i'm at a point where there are only 3 things i will order here: spring onion, incredible ganjung and sweet and spicy. for the other varieties there are better takes on them elsewhere, especially the snow cheese and classic garlic soy which are quite weak here. spring onion here is divine, sauce has good wasabi hit and overall not too heavy. it's good to order with one of the saucier ones to balance. incredible ganjung has awesome spice element from the cinnamon, and is a flavour unique to icg. sweet and spicy sauce is one of the best around, and really cant go wrong with this classic.

the club itself is hot off a recent renovation. they have their own decently sized car park, nice outdoor area and of course a bar. this means draft beer and drink variety here far exceeds any other chicken place, and they even have draft makgeolli. also present is a cafe, where you can get drinks and dessert. atmosphere here is great, as many come here in big groups. it gets very busy even on weekdays, but i find the wait for a table is usually not long. wait times for chicken however, can exceed 1 hr so make sure you ask if you don't want to wait too long.

strathfield sports club is in the grips of a major renovation. in its new form, their ever-popularredpepper bistro takes pride of place on the ground floor with a brand new commercial kitchen, just after the busy sign-in desk. the now mostly neutral-toned dining room is set right beside their pair of well-lit, 5-a-side soccer fields.with the dining room sitting about a metre below the field height, it’s footwork central, with the ball flying into goal nets right at head height. against bowls of kook soon dang ($13/bottle) draft makgeolli we take in the sport and the energetic dining room.having to dance around the building works created by this nicholas architects redesign doesn’t seem to have dampened the enthusiasm for this korean bistro, with large groups of youthful athletic types, families with small kids, and dating couples making up the bulk of the crowd. the rowdier groups are throwing back beer and soju against giant platters of korean fried chicken from the incredible chicken menu. we join the fray using the smaller serve setting...

having heard so many great reviews aboutredpepper for having the best korean fried chicken, i finally had a chance to try it out late last night.

we arrived around 11pm on a thursday night and we were super excited to find there was an extensive menu just for fried chicken as well as korean side meals. we settled on the garlic soy and sweet and spicy chicken only to find ourselves waiting for almost 40 minutes before our food arrived. there was probably about 4 other tables that were occupied so i didn’t understand what took so long? the people working seemed to care more about talking to each other than to clean up dirty tables and get the food served.

i did find that the garlic soy chicken needed more seasoning and sauce. however the sweet and spicy was delicious! i just wished all of the chicken was cooked well as we left some pieces due to it being dry and flavourless.

overall, the chicken was good, not amazing. it was definitely overhyped and service needs a lot of work.

i love fried chicken.  i can never get enough of it.  it goes well with bread, with waffles and especially with a bowl (or two!) of fried rice.  the city is teeming with different types of fried chicken, i always try to push my husband to visit and sample it.  for this review it will be kfc – korean fried chicken.  the place to visit isredpepper bistro.

for me, the best korean fried chicken is fromredpepper. the restaurant is located inside the rsl club with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. my favourite is the spring onion fried chicken followed by the soy fried chicken.

on this particular visit, i tried the hot and spicy one which was definitely on the more spicy side but still delicious. we also ordered the seafood tofu stew but there were only two clams inside so not quite which i imagined. for dessert they offered bingsoo and the matcha one was quite nice with theredbean mochi and chocolate cake.
