a club bistro might be the last place you'd expect to findgoodfood, but we're in strathfield, transport hub and home to a little korea of restaurants, snack shops and grocery stores. we sign in at the desk (temporary membership is free) and head into the bistro. it's the usual set-up of tv screens, a tab section off to the side and a bar where you can order and pay for drinks and food.

kfc. came here for the korean fried chicken and thats what we got. although it can take quite a long time to get it at times because its usually packed or something, the food was prettygoodalthough a bit smaller in quantity then others especially when u go for half half. the service wasnt too great, probably cause its not really a proper restaurant with waiters going around everywhere. great place to bring with a big group of friends to eat some kfc and watch some soccer.

fried chicken is one of my favourite dishes. the fried chicken from red pepper bistro is not grassy. more than 10 choices. i have ordered chilli hot chicken and garlic soy sauce chicken. taste so good. serving is big. half size isgoodfor 2 people and you could still order another veggie dish or a full chicken for more than 3 people. the glass noodle is tasty as well

live today like you’re getting fried tomorrow

but seriously, can you hear the crunch looking at the pics?😂

nothing can express how deep is my love for the fried chicken at red pepper bistro in strathfield 🥰 i swear whenever we go there, we always end up a few kilos heavier cos honestly look howgoodthe food is.

the quality of the food is superb; the fried chicken is always crunchy on the outside but joocy on the inside. this time, we had the kim chi pancake with cheese and every bite was such a delight, sent me to heaven and back. the spicy topokki was a nice compliment to the meal and defs a must have if youre looking for that extra kick🌶

9/10

1) sweet & spicy - probably not my favourite flavour because it was more sweet than spicy but the chicken itself was extremely good

2) snow cheese - my favourite flavour

3) hot fried chicken - the chicken itself isn't spicy but the sauce next to had the heat

4) seafood soybean stew - like a normal soy bean stew but with seafood

5) seafood pancake - packed with seafood but a bit too greasy for my liking, nonetheless still delicious

6) melon bingsoo - texture of agoodbingsoo but the flavour was a bit artificial and not as fresh

best korean fried chicken in sydney. friendly service andgoodlocation. the chicken menu is reallygoodas there are lots of choices and flavours. the prices could be a bit better but overall it's a great experience. the cheese powder with the plain chicken tastes amazing and the pickles are extremely refreshing. went with the boys and we ordered different flavours of chicken with different sauces. we loved it and will be back for more!

first time visiting red pepper in years and the place has changed so much! interior is much more aesthetic and relaxed. lots of room andgoodfor groups. we didn't have to wait in line too long however we did go on a weekday.

the soy fried chicken was the best dish. the creamy onion chicken was a bit too heavy on the sauce and tasted like mayo, and the sweet and spicy chicken was too sweet for my liking. i prefer boned chicken over boneless chicken because it keeps the meat juicy. the black bean noodles were very bland - the noodles didn't absorb much of the sauce. the cold noodles were great - it's hard to go wrong but it was the first time i'd ever tried green tea noodles! japchae was perfectly flavoured. will definitely come back to try more dishes.

the place used to do reallygoodfried chicken and used to go all the way from north shore.

unfortunately, the size keeps shrinking and the chicken gets smaller so it's bit of let down.

is this really the best fried chicken in sydney? i feel like that's a pretty hard question to answer now as there are so many great korean fried chicken joints around, and it's more a question of which flavours each top tier establishment excels at. red pepper and their other icg counterparts definitely have a few varieties that they do best, and here in the sports club they also have a few other things going for them.

first off, i've had all their chicken at least a couple of times now, and i'm at a point where there are only 3 things i will order here: spring onion, incredible ganjung and sweet and spicy. for the other varieties there are better takes on them elsewhere, especially the snow cheese and classic garlic soy which are quite weak here. spring onion here is divine, sauce hasgoodwasabi hit and overall not too heavy. it'sgoodto order with one of the saucier ones to balance. incredible ganjung has awesome spice element from the cinnamon, and is a flavour unique to icg. sweet and spicy sauce is one of the best around, and really cant go wrong with this classic.

the club itself is hot off a recent renovation. they have their own decently sized car park, nice outdoor area and of course a bar. this means draft beer and drink variety here far exceeds any other chicken place, and they even have draft makgeolli. also present is a cafe, where you can get drinks and dessert. atmosphere here is great, as many come here in big groups. it gets very busy even on weekdays, but i find the wait for a table is usually not long. wait times for chicken however, can exceed 1 hr so make sure you ask if you don't want to wait too long.

best korean fried chicken in sydney!
always consistently crispy, flavoursome but not too much, and the meat is always tender and juicy!
always leave you wanting more.
great variety of flavours and sauces available with your fried chicken!
their hot pot varieties- budae jiggae is prettygoodtoo! & their bossam is delish!
jajangmyun is a new menu item and it's delicious as well- just too small of a serving.
highly recommend for a quick korean feed-goodfor large groups and families

the chicken here is very very good. but is itgoodenough to justify the slow service and high credit card minimum? yeah, i think it probably is.
