wonderful!. first time for lunch, had the ivan, italian style with cole slaw. the sandwich was, how to put it, fun! pleasing to look at and delicious. fresh food, quaint atmosphere, attentive staff and a caring owner/chef, all the marks of a great restaurant! thanks, we'll be back!

red gravy is a really great place to eat for lunch. i haven't tried breakfast yet. there are several specials everyday and everything that i have eaten was made at the cafe. great lasagna, very tasty giant meat balls, rice balls, mussels, key lime pie, orange citrus cake, and more. my buddies and i eat there at least once a week.

good experience. went there for breakfast on saturday. i was a little bummed at first b/c the menu was limited to just the specials, but the toasted crostini with eggs, ham and hollandaise sauce that i ordered was very good. roasted potatoes were pretty standard. husband liked what he ordered/ it came with a meatball that really was one of the best that we have eaten at a restaurant. owner/ chef came out to check on us and was a pleasure to talk to. we definitely plan on going back for lunch one day!

nice lunch option. red gravy is a pretty good lunch option. today's special was an eggplant, tomato, onion and goat cheese wrap with oil and vinegar that tasted fresh and was light but filling. had the meatballs on mardi gras day and they were pretty good. will be back.

best meatballs! and everything else. stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant and brought the italian family to try the food. everyone was wowed and complementary of the authentic dishes. the meatballs are perfect (like moms!), the risotto balls were fabulous, the pasta cooked perfectly al dente and the sausage and peppers was great. and don't forget the wonderful homemade deserts! definitely a multiple visit spot on our trip. the owner and chef was so warm and friendly it made the visit even better.

this could be some of the best italian food i have ever eaten. the owner is a true delight. she is passionate about the dishes they prepare and it shows. in addition to being delicious, the food is very reasonably priced.

you'd be hardpressed to find italian food this good, for this cheap, in the area. been four times and have had the benefit of sampling much of the breakfast and lunch menus. the meatballs and gravy with pasta is truly mouthwatering. portions were very generous across all dishes. even spoke to the chef/owner for a few minutes as she came out to ensure my satisfaction. i was excited to learn that they would be serving dinner in the near future. this is a wonderful place.

repeat visits a must! delicious food, friendly fast service, great atmosphere. the pasta with red gravy (signature dish) was out of this world! huge serving and you can chose how many meatballs you want. i chose two and had enough for another meal. (ate the left overs for breakfast - waiting for lunch was too long!) the pasta was perfectly cooked. the homemade gravy was spectacular - great balance of spices, slightly sweet and tart. had a bite of my friend's meatball sandwich - the lou parm -also delicious. the fresh apple pie was terrific.

the service was excellent - food came out fast. the employees were cheerful and helpful - the chef even came out to see how everything was! she really is an italian girl from jersey...

the menu has a great variety - looking forward to going back again and again to try the rest of the yummy goodness. good place for office lunch as the prices are very reasonable and you can get in and out quickly. five stars!!!!

just found this place!!!! love it!!. i love to find great new things in new orleans and today i have done it again. i had an outstanding lunch at red gravy on camp street downtown. the chef and owner is there every day cooking up the freshest pastries and yummy dishes in the cbd. (they will even deliver it all to your doorstep).
i had a chicken parmesan po-boy with her homemade red gravy and melted mozzarella cheese--delicious!! i tasted the sausage dressing she makes from scratch and it blew me away! the spinach salad with mozzarella cheese, walnuts, eggs, red onions, etc. yum!! i love getting excited over a good meal and this i had to share with everyone! truly, the place just hugs you as you walk in the door. apparently the owner and chef starts her baking at 4:30am when most of us are either still in bed or still out from the night before?! she puts a whole lot of love in everything she produces. i sampled homemade german chocolate peppermint cupcakes that are made every morning....just delicious!! i am thrilled to find this place--if you are looking for the perfect breakfast or lunch spot...look no more. her doors actually open at 6am!! brunch on saturdays and you can even byob!!

finally! real italian in the cbd/quarter!. this place just opened and it's so so delish- real italian food made by a real italian chef. i've been in a couple times, the meatballs are the best i've had, and the saturday brunch menu was innovative, different from the standard brunch dishes. the best thing is that all the food is fresh!! even the baked goods! but i'm a fresh food snob....

regarding the previous comment, i don't know how a portion in this place could be too small- that chick must not have eaten for days prior

pricy like almost everything near the quarter but portions were on the small side and service was slow. the poached egg on grit cake was overdone but the dish was otherwise tasy. the cheese and egg pie was made in a pre-prepared crust...not too exciting.
