we're back and still loving it. service was great; we had the pecan waffle, the french quarter and the laurel. everything was delicious.

the food is excellent and the staff is warm and friendly. we enjoyed everything we ordered (omlets) and the accompanying grits and house fries were incredible.

bad service/ rude chef owner. i visited this cafe on my last nola visit as it was close to our hotel. the service was awful! seriously, just terrible. not so much the wait staff as the chef/ owner.
after reading through other complaints and her reactions or excusesi wish i would have read the reviews first.
food is decent but be prepared that you can not change your order in any way, shape or form! if you try, be ready for a backlash!
the customer is not always right in this establishment! in fact, we were called names!

great food! i loved this place and would definitely return. the atmosphere is great because its so small. the food is fresh and the people are friendly. not to mention they have grits and chicken and waffles!!

ate there this morning and it was so fantastic i had to submit a review...which is not like me. we went on the recommendation of a friend and are glad we did. we had praline pancakes, a grilled meatball and sicilian egg pie with home fries...extremely tasty! the food choices are great and makes it so difficult to choose. the place was packed with happy customers--that is the best review! we will eat there every trip we make to new orleans!

great food and service. we had a great breakfast and then returned later in the week for dinner. the quiet, charming setting was perfect for our last evening in new orleans. the food was some of the best that we had all week. great service- tammy was the best server we had all week. we will definitely return next time we visit new orleans.

great small breakfast stop to get the day started. my fiance is from europe and usually hates our pancakes and she thought they were the best she has had in the states

best food in new orleans. we stopped in for breakfest prior our crusie snd the food was fantasic . better then the cruise , and my kids feel the sane way we will be back , wish we had one where we lived.

by far the best food i've had in new orleans. polenta was so good i couldn't even speak while eating it. bruschetta makes you slap your mama. meatballs--omg i can't even talk about it. fried eggplant to die for!

amazing!!!. have walked past this quaint little restaurant on several visits over the past few years and finally, went in. boy, i didn't know what we had been missing. the atmosphere was pleasant and friendly, the food was amazing, the service was great and the prices were spot on. i can't wait until out next trip back to new orleans to try it again! this really made the end to my birthday weekend special! we'll be back..again and again and again!

all i can say is cathy is crazy!!! red gravy has the best food i have ever put in my mouth. please do not consider cathy's response. some people are impossible to please.

i thought i'd died and went to heaven when i tried red gravy's fried chicken and waffles! the chicken is juicy and the coating has a nice crunch. the waffles are light and airy. service was friendly and the chef came to our table to make sure we enjoyed our meal. we'll be back every time we're in town!
