late night cravings! all day i was talking about eating a banh mi and i found one in the middle of the night as i walked out of pangea! we sat down to order fish cakes, a banh mi and a plate of pad thai.

the place was empty seeing as it was 1am so the service was very quick. the banh mi was not bad and neither were the fish cakes. but the real flavour was in the noodles! the were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. the staff were friendly and very accomodating. i'm pretty sure we were carrying on quite drunkenly also hehehe.

overall good midnight snack with lots of options!

first time to try here and it sucks!

we ordered 3 different cakes, calamari and taro chips. we told the server that we wanted the cake to be served already. waited for about 20mins for the appetizers. still no cake on our table. we had to follow up twice for these cakes!

staff weren't friendly at all. although their cakes are good. will never come back.

ordered a satay steak and baby squid with a boiled egg from the menu. what came was some kebabs and a bowl with what looked like left overs with half a boiled egg. definitely not what we expected for the price we paid. the beef was cold and the drinks we ordered came most provably from a can. i don't like leaving bad reviews but their customer service could be better.

had our mother's day dinner here so expectedly the place was full. luckily, we booked our reservation days earlier.  we were a large group so i worried if the servings would be insufficient.  the servings were just right. we had popiah and chicken wings with sticky chili jam for appetizers. especially loved their signature dish, gai yang and honey and tamarind pork belly.  we had two servings to make sure everyone had a good fill.  the squid and pork fillet and stir fried vegies rounded out our meal, which overall was quite good. my daughter commented that she and her husband had been looking to dine in a place like this.  the staff was very courteous and accommodating.

the place is very ambient, with courteous servers, and with a wide space. we ordered nasi goreng, a squid dish, tellur and the pandan crepe for dessert. the servings are quite generous. we also loved the flavors especially the nasi goreng. the dessert was also phenomenal. a good place to dine and experience asian cuisine.

tried out red ginger with my cousins when we were in city of dreams. red ginger offers southeast asian cuisine, mostly indonesian and malaysian dishes. . here are the dishes that we tried:

-chicken wings. fried chicken wings. the sauce was good but the chicken was nothing exceptional for me.
-banh mi. toasted baguette with roasted pork belly, liver pate, cucumber ribbon, pickled carrots and daikon, fresh herbs, and chopped chili peppers. the meat was good. needs more herbs for a banh mi.
-hot and sour seafood broth with salmon belly, and native vegetables. it's like red ginger's version of seafood sinigang.
-honey tamarind pork belly. tender meat.
-cake jars. ordered these cake jars for dessert. it was good but it wasn't as good as i expected.

considering that we were in cod at that time, it is expected that the dishes in the restaurants are quite pricey. i honestly didn't enjoy my lunch here at red ginger, but i might give it another try for their other dishes for consideration since other reviewers gave it a really good review.

a high volume, affordable, contemporary dining restaurant operating 24 hours-a-day. the restaurant features popular southeast asian inspired dishes, bistro, bar, and café.

red ginger’s signature dessert the peanut is acclaimed as one of the finest sweet treats in philippine daily inquirer lifestyle best desserts book 3.

kinda pricey, but wow is the food worth every centavo you pay here. except for the garlic bread (which we found overpriced and pomp), we utterly enjoyed the pad thai, nasi goreng, satay, palm sugar-glazed pork ribs, and kaffir lime iced tea.

the ambience perfectly reflected asia fusion.

10/10 would go back again either with friends (splitting the bill helps bring the prices down) or by myself (if i had money).

for the price that i paid for. totally not worth it.. although the flavor is there but when i ordered their chicken dish i was surprised to see that they served the chicken cuts without finesse and seems like carinderia cuts. bony and very few meat. will not come back
