this is our favorite place to eat whenever we visit city of dreams with friends. interior is nice with elegant wooden tones decoration. we all love their food most especially the cakes. red ginger was able to satisfy my cravings on green tea chocolate cake. for tea lovers, this cake is a must-try! this is one of the best green tea cake on my list here in the metro. also a must try is their pomelo lemonade and char kew noodle. really tastes good. highly recommended!

my wife and i are regular customers in city of dreams and i've been wanting to try out the restaurants here ever since. thinking that it will be expensive, i've decided to opt to something cheaper. one bright day, when my parents visited my in-laws, who were staying in city of dreams as well, we have decided to have lunch in one of the restaurants there, red ginger. the exterior of the restaurant itself is great, it is somewhat like an open area and it is well lit and airconditioned. good thing that there were no smokers around the vicinity since city of dreams is a heck of a smoking area.

good food. servers are okay, but at times they seem to be less attentive especially when they know you are using your points to dine. overall, it's a good experience.

i loooooove the red ginger! from their courses to their desserts, you'll surely enjoy yourself from with all the flavors that you will encounter. 😊

i guess you can say that i am a regular at this place mostly because this is one of the few quality restaurants that's open 24/7. 😁 shout out to ms. rona, one of the well trained restaurant staff, who has always been (and still is) lovely and accommodating.

my usual orders are (because they're so delicious) are honey and tamarind glazed pork belly, indonesian style beef cheek rendang and their vietnamese caesar salad. 😊

had the chance to dine here before and was able to try out the nasi goreng. this time around, we were able to try out the popiah which is crispy fried bbq duck spring roll wrapped in lettuce which was crunchy and tasty. it was delicious and surprisingly addicting.

the nasi goreng was exactly how i remembered it. delicious with the right amount of ingredients present to not overwhelm the taste buds.

the baby squid was sooooo good. i feel bad for the baby squid but they simply melted in my mouth. ang sarap sobra!

the salt and pepper tofu was also great. not a tofu fan but ate at least 10 pieces. yes, 10pieces. madami na yun haha.

as for desserts, you need to try the peanut. you just should. its instagrammable and it is also a treat. promise. its a must have.

overall, it was a delightful meal and i'd definitely recommend this place.

red ginger is housed inside city of dreams manila, offering a vast menu of southeast asian flavors. the ambiance brings in a warm and inviting vibe, especially since the colors that painted the whole restaurant resembles earth tones. their food speaks of traditional flavors, yet modern techniques were into play with the preparation and presentation of it.

we had a hearty lunch, perfectly assisted with their humble and hospitable staff and chef. these were the dishes we indulged on that afternoon:

baby squid in lemongrass and lime soy
popiah
salt and pepper tofu

grill platter(honey and tamarind glazed pork, 5oz. angus beef satay, salmon curry with red basil and thai curry)
singaporean crispy grouper
nasi goreng jakarta
vietnamese "caesar" salad
asian mushrooms with bean curd skin and tofu

iced avocado condensada
chocolate caramel custard
the peanut

i am left speechless with their baby squid. it was very savory and it literally melted in my mouth at the very moment i ate it. hints of soy, lime, and squid seemed to pop up on my tastebuds melodiously.

the salt and pepper tofu was a winner in my book too. i normally don't eat tofu on a daily basis but when i do, i'm really into it. the crisp shell of the tofu with it's soft, silky tones inside made me fell inlove with it in an instant.

the salmon and the satay were winners in my book with their grill platter. salmon was cooked just right, hints of tamarind helped in cutting through the richness of the fish, the satay was cooked at the right temperature, teasing in just the right amount of spices to compliment the dish.

the crispy grouper also made me really happy. i prefer the sauce a bit spicier than what they had (but i guess you can request for more chilis or to spice up the sauce itself a bit more).

to end the eveing, the chocolate caramel custard left me singing my heart out! how unexpected to find preserved chunks of jackfruit in it? it was surprisingly unexpected, but the combination really worked out perfectly. it helps cut off the richness of the custard, elevating the sweetness of the dish, bringing out perfectly lucious notes of chocolate dancing on your tastebuds.

the peanut also is an amazing creation, playing off with a salted caramel core, vanilla ice cream interior and crushed nuts to crust up all of that goodness in one, intriguingly innovative dessert! it's set to bring your inner childhood out and marvel on its own taste. the vanilla ice cream is not to sweet and creamy, the salted caramel leaves a velvety trace on your mouth, teasing in a bit of sweetness to leave you wanting more, and the roasted, crushed peanuts help compliment the caramel and vanilla altogether.

coming in to red ginger manila is like hitting the jackpot itself--an incredible oasis where a mouthful of tastes await.

ambience – 5/5

service – 5/5

location – 4/5

food – 3.5/5

food recommendation:
nasi goreng jakarta (php 430.00)
one of the best nasi goreng that i have ever tasted.

baby squid in lemongrass and lime soy (php 350.00)
i didn’t give notice to this at first, because it didn’t look like anything special. but this became an instant favorite when i had a bite. it was surprisingly a very refreshing dish, and every mouthful was a joy!

singaporean crispy grouper (php 990.00)
i love fish, especially fried ones. the grouper was fresh and seasoned just enough that you could still taste and experience the freshness of the fish.

chocolate caramel custard (php 280.00)
an extremely rich and flavorful dessert! it’s like leche flan with better upgrades. the jackfruit on top balances the sweetness of the dish with its slight acidity.

city of dreams’ red ginger is a southeast asian feast for the tongue and the tummy. some foodies and i were invited by zomato to sample some key dishes. we started off with the crisp spring roll popiah stuffed with bbq duck, which was delicious when wrapped in fresh iceberg lettuce and drizzled with chili garlic dipping. red ginger is city of dreams southeast asian-themed restaurant. it has a vibe and feel for the region's flavors and palates. i'm not so keen on this cuisine, but the food was still pretty excellent. the interiors had lots and lots of wood. . some of their dishes included:. popiah. this was a fried roll composed of braised duck in thick sauce and wrapped in iceberg lettuce/ it came with a chili sauce for dips. the duck was pretty tasty.

food is ok at least the one served at the fmu. i would have liked to try the hainanese chicken, beef rendang, some soup and more cakes. the dessert was the redeeming factor for me. the chocolate custard, peanut ice cream, and the iced avocado condensada was yummy. i loved the dark chocolate the best and then the iced avocado condensada too. super yummy and great flavor! the food i guess is good for seafood lovers like the baby squid. i wanted a different taste. all in all, a good resto especially the dessertsi believe i could give a higher rating if i tasted the other items in their menu.no sockets. wifi is limited to the wifi of cod.

the experience begins immediately as you enter red ginger in city of dreams with highly attentive staff despite the lunch rush.

we were started with popaig filled with juicy duck under the crispy fried wrappers all under crunch of iceberg lettuce with the kick of chili garlic dip.

the salt and pepper tofu had extra layers of flavors around the breading that offers bite on top of the soft and silky tofu crunch with added depth from the bell peppers and onions.

the baby squid bursts with freshness right after the bite that melds with the tangy lemongrass and lime soy around bitter greens and the sweet juicy cherry tomatoes.

the mains began with the smoky and meaty nasi goreng with texture made subtle with the eggyolk and softened by egg whites.

followed shortly by silky smooth asian mushrooms with bean curd skin and tofu balanced with the earthy tones.

the singaporean crispy grouper was definitely crispy but slightly weighed less on the hint of the famous singaporean chili sauce as advertised.

grilled properly with sweet marinades was the pork belly properly cooked while maintaining the tenderness. the beef satay was slightly under seasoned but tender through and through. the salmon is fresh but leaned on the flaky side for the grill platter.

the vietnamese "ceasar" salad works great to cleanse the palette momentarily as you move on to desserts.

the three course sweets started with the chocolate caramel custard that emulated much of what dark chocolate would taste like that had a subtle attention grabbing langka and lychee compote. it's rich and sweet.

the iced avocado condensada copies much of the halo-halo flair with an additional layer of avocado cream at the bottom for added flavor profile which was missing most of the way throughout the experience. it's halo-halo. period.

"the peanut" was made from crushed roasted peanuts packed around simple vanilla ice cream with lime meringue placed carefully atop the salted caramel peanut butter placed squarely in the middle.
