kinda pricey, but wow is thefoodworth every centavo you pay here. except for the garlic bread (which we found overpriced and pomp), we utterly enjoyed the pad thai, nasi goreng, satay, palm sugar-glazed pork ribs, and kaffir lime iced tea.

the ambience perfectly reflected asia fusion.

10/10 would go back again either with friends (splitting the bill helps bring the prices down) or by myself (if i had money).

south east asian must-tries!
red ginger is a city of dreams restaurant located near the casino. they offer southeast asian cuisines. you'll find dishes from vietnam, indonesia, thailand, philippines, and more. the location is great because visitors from all over the world playing casino will be able to see it and when they decide to take a break, they can feast here and enjoy thefoodwe and our neighboring countries have to offer.

popiah (php 420.00): this one is a crowd favorite and that has already been decided just at the start of our meal. popiah is a famous southeast asian dish but i've read it's also famous in china. in the west, it's known as an egg roll but to us filipinos, we call it "lumpia". however, this one is an upgrade as it has bbq duck instead of the usual pork or veggies. it's truly irresistible and you'll find yourself having a few pieces and getting yourself stuffed too early.

vietnamese caesar salad (php 270.00): a salad not for those in a strict diet but a salad i could really dig into. it's not just leaves and croutons and that's what i love about it because this way, i can finally enjoy my greens. thanks to the poached egg and to the salad dressing that covered almost every inch of the leaves. it's very tasty and creamy.

satay platter (php 950.00): it's a meat party with this platter. satay means seasoned and grilled meat. there's beef, pork, prawn & salmon, chicken, and tofu satay. it basically caters to almost every meat any person prefers. even the tofu is seasoned so there's not a bland meat in this platter. this can probably be shared by 5-6 people depending on how many you will order.

nasi lemak lobster: this malaysian-inspired dish is only available until june 30, 2018 so grab it while you still can! it's spicy but the spiciness doesn't interfere with the tastiness the dish has. if you're familiar with nasi lemak, you already know what to expect with its taste except this time, you get to enjoy it with some lobster meat.

you can also get some charcoal grilled meat like lemongrass & rosemary chicken (php 420.00), spiced blue marlin fillet with assam butter (php 780.00), and honey & tamarind glazed pork belly (php 460.00): there are lots of other options. i really loved the pork belly. it was sweet and sour and you'll find yourself looking for that cup of rice.

for our desserts, we had small servings on a platter but i'll put the full servings price, we had iced avocado condensada (php 280.00): which won my heart at my first spoonful. it's basically halo-halo with a scoop of avocado ice cream. from that first bite, i suddenly realized that from now on i want all my halo-halos to have a scoop of avocado ice cream.

pandan coconut crepe roll (php 300.00): a pandan flavored crepe with coconut on the inside and a scoop of ube ice cream. i could probably just had the pandan crepe and ube ice cream and i'll be able to enjoy this more. i'm only saying that because i'm not a big fan of coconut in general. don't hate me.

the egg (php 240.00): omg. you have to try this. trust me. this dessert has won awards. if you want to know more, just ask the staff at the restaurant. this dish looks like an egg but it's one of the best desserts you'll try out there. the yolk is a mango, the white is a custard cream, and the pepper are dark chocolate bits. there's also some gelatin and other chewy stuff inside. just try it out, every component in this dish makes it absolutely perfect.

i love the interior of this place. the lighting is a bit dim so it gives you a more intimate dining experience. however, they don't have glass windows so you'll be able to hear the outside a bit more but it's not noisy outside so it's fine. the servers are very friendly and professional. they're very easy to call and they get back to you right away when you ask them for something.

red ginger is housed inside city of dreams manila, offering a vast menu of southeast asian flavors. the ambiance brings in a warm and inviting vibe, especially since the colors that painted the whole restaurant resembles earth tones. theirfoodspeaks of traditional flavors, yet modern techniques were into play with the preparation and presentation of it.

we had a hearty lunch, perfectly assisted with their humble and hospitable staff and chef. these were the dishes we indulged on that afternoon:

baby squid in lemongrass and lime soy
popiah
salt and pepper tofu

grill platter(honey and tamarind glazed pork, 5oz. angus beef satay, salmon curry with red basil and thai curry)
singaporean crispy grouper
nasi goreng jakarta
vietnamese "caesar" salad
asian mushrooms with bean curd skin and tofu

iced avocado condensada
chocolate caramel custard
the peanut

i am left speechless with their baby squid. it was very savory and it literally melted in my mouth at the very moment i ate it. hints of soy, lime, and squid seemed to pop up on my tastebuds melodiously.

the salt and pepper tofu was a winner in my book too. i normally don't eat tofu on a daily basis but when i do, i'm really into it. the crisp shell of the tofu with it's soft, silky tones inside made me fell inlove with it in an instant.

the salmon and the satay were winners in my book with their grill platter. salmon was cooked just right, hints of tamarind helped in cutting through the richness of the fish, the satay was cooked at the right temperature, teasing in just the right amount of spices to compliment the dish.

the crispy grouper also made me really happy. i prefer the sauce a bit spicier than what they had (but i guess you can request for more chilis or to spice up the sauce itself a bit more).

to end the eveing, the chocolate caramel custard left me singing my heart out! how unexpected to find preserved chunks of jackfruit in it? it was surprisingly unexpected, but the combination really worked out perfectly. it helps cut off the richness of the custard, elevating the sweetness of the dish, bringing out perfectly lucious notes of chocolate dancing on your tastebuds.

the peanut also is an amazing creation, playing off with a salted caramel core, vanilla ice cream interior and crushed nuts to crust up all of that goodness in one, intriguingly innovative dessert! it's set to bring your inner childhood out and marvel on its own taste. the vanilla ice cream is not to sweet and creamy, the salted caramel leaves a velvety trace on your mouth, teasing in a bit of sweetness to leave you wanting more, and the roasted, crushed peanuts help compliment the caramel and vanilla altogether.

coming in to red ginger manila is like hitting the jackpot itself--an incredible oasis where a mouthful of tastes await.

red ginger is city of dreams southeast asian-themed restaurant. it has a vibe and feel for the region's flavors and palates. i'm not so keen on this cuisine, but thefoodwas still pretty excellent. the interiors had lots and lots of wood. . some of their dishes included:. popiah. this was a fried roll composed of braised duck in thick sauce and wrapped in iceberg lettuce/ it came with a chili sauce for dips. the duck was pretty tasty.

food is ok at least the one served at the fmu. i would have liked to try the hainanese chicken, beef rendang, some soup and more cakes. the dessert was the redeeming factor for me. the chocolate custard, peanut ice cream, and the iced avocado condensada was yummy. i loved the dark chocolate the best and then the iced avocado condensada too. super yummy and great flavor! thefoodi guess is good for seafood lovers like the baby squid. i wanted a different taste. all in all, a good resto especially the dessertsi believe i could give a higher rating if i tasted the other items in their menu.no sockets. wifi is limited to the wifi of cod.

indonesian style angus beef cheek rendang is my top favorite because the meat is very tender, tasty, and a bit spicy. it's good for sharing for 2-4 people depending on their appetites; it's already a lot for 2.

char kway teow is also very much enjoyable if you're in the mood for some noodles with good sauce.

prices are steep and easily noticeable with the beer, but the quality of theirfoodis excellent.

maybe my taste buds are too loyal with filipinofoodand chinesefoodbecause i didn't like the dishes here.

we ate three courses and i can't even remember the names of it but one thing is for sure, all of it has a strong taste of ginger.

the price is ridiculously expensive too although the ambiance is quite nice, i'll give them that.

bottom line, i won't go back.
