had promise.it was crowded always a good sign, but the cuban sandwich was not hot, cheese not melted,porkwas cold cuts...wtf!?!? just did not deliver on the promise. sad really because i was looking forward to crispy bread, shreaded pork, and spicy mustard. i got a warm pressed cold cut sandwich on soggy bread. i wanted to like it. sorry i stopped and wasted $10 on lunch :-(

lunch was wonderful. my wife and i went for a light lunch. no such thing as light but the service and food were both excellent. we both had a tamale by i added the shreddedporkand an order of yellow rice. we split theporkas well as the rice and had food left over. we will be back.

it is a matter if taste. the sangria was good and the plantains were good. my husband'sporkdish was tasty. i ordered the fish combo in a pineapple and thought the sauce was just so so. i understand the disappointment in the black beans-- i prefer to have the chopped onions and vinegar to go with it for a little more pizazz. the music was good, but as with most restaurants now there are no soft surfaces to mute the sound--the music was was too loud for the venue--we tried to be seated as far away as possible but it would have been better with the volume turned down about a quarter. service was good. it is a matter if taste.

tried the pulledporkand the skirt steak with the chime churri sauce. both had such wonderful flavor! and the fried plantains left me wanting more. very nice change to the typical southern fried food common in savannah.

we were in cuban heaven for sure! the roastedporkthey serve is out of this world. the restaurant also had a nice ambience and so i neglected/decided to not use my flash, so be aware, there are some crazy yellow pictures after the jump!

love the new location. you must try theporktamales! i also love the plantains. thank you for opening a downtown location!
