sad, sad, sad. excuse for a bbq joint. beans were tasteless, ribs were salty and dry and the jalepeno sausage was the worst ever!! if you want to learn how to make honest to goodness good tasting bbq railhead do an apprenticeship at almost any bbq joint in central texas.

pork ribs. this was the place to go many years ago after angelo's family ruined their place by trying to pass off jerky as ribs.

now this place is playing the same game. quality is extremely inconsistent. you might get one juicy rib in a pound basket of charcoal jerky.
fries are horribly greasy.

for the salt lover.... today, with my daughter and her kids visiting, we elected to take out some bbq from railhead, "the" bbq place in fort worth. we had a bbq sandwich and a pound of ribs. the sandwich was kinda o.k. but the ribs were unbelieavably salty. i ate two of them… the rest went to our dogs. what a disappointment. if you don't like salt, and lots of it, don't go to railhead

great sausage. some of the best sausage north of austin. the jalapeno cheddar sausage is greatness. not my favorite restaurant staff. kinda rude and rigid. but the food is good.

not just for beef brisket. try the pulled pork and the loaded baked potatoes with chopped beef and sauce.

very good. went to the rail head because of the recommendations of urban spoon. the food was very good and the smoked meat was excellent! i am active duty us army and the discount is a pleasant surprise and defiantly will return when i get to fort worth.

a frosty coors light and ribs!. when it's not too hot outside, their patio is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. their chopped beef isn't made by the fatty leftovers, just good brisket mixed up with their sauce. the ribs aren't gooey - nice dry rub and the meat falls off the bone. lunch gets very crowded, but you can order at the bar and watch all the retired golfers chat it up.

a decent bbq place. the beer is pretty cheap. we went at happy hour and enjoyed watching the oldsters reminisce about ancient times.

best brisket. i thought the brisket was the best i have ever tasted. moist, just the right amount of fat. nicely seasoned. ribs were good but not the bets. as anotehr reveiwer stated it is hard to be thoroughly consistent with smoking and bbq. best ribs i had in fort worth were at angelo's but the brisket was terrible there. ribs were meaty and mosit and falling off the bone. excellent. brisket. eh. didnt get a chance to make it to cousins or riscky's which i hear are good too.

a copy cat!. this place is just a copy of angelo's with a bit of texas fast food thrown in......and remember how "they" got the stuff to copy angelo's! i think the folks that go to railhead are not tough texans...just wannab's.

below average. overrated. people rave about this place, and it does have a certain style.
the food, though, leaves much to be desired.
having eaten here several times now, i've reserved judgment until now.
the brisket has been either undercooked & tough or overcooked & falling apart. either way, they've never passed the pull-apart test.
the ribs have always been overdone. they come off the bone with the slightest tug. i could live with that, though, if they actually tasted good, but they don't. the only flavor comparison i can make is that of a rail-road tie. the ribs actually have a faint tar taste.

there are better options for good bbq around.
