get the godfather. i love thisplacefor one reason: the godfather pizza. definitely my favorite pizza in edmonton. it's a must-have. as for the remaining aspects of the restaurant, they can be hit or miss. food is generally pretty good, although i feel the pizza is the strong aspect of the menu. the space itself is rather uninspiringly decorated, but definitely more than tolerable. service can be slow at times, but it never seems to bother me because the godfather is so good.

average italian food but atrocious service. we waited 45 minutes for a table after being told we would be next. several favourite clear regulars were seated ahead of us. once seated, we waited 25 minutes to be even acknowleged by the waitress. it was explained thatbshe didn't realize we were in her section. simple orders took over an hour to arrive and then came staggered so we all (4) ate at different times. the wait was so long that a kind gentleman took pity on our children and gave them each a piece of his pizza while we waited. the wait staff all stood around drinking grappa and having a great time while the customers all stewed in silence. i have no idea how thisplacestays in business, treating customers so poorly and i would never go back! avoid thisplaceunless you have at least three hours to waist on average food.

the coliseum at night.... ...one of my favourite memories in italy was eating the best pizza i had ever eaten while i sat on a bridge with a bottle of wine and took in the beautiful sight of the coliseum lit up at night. although you can't walk the streets of edmonton with a bottle of wine and the scenery may be a touch less inspiring, you can have the best real italian thin crust pizza you've ever tried in your life. ragazzi is theplacefor it. who knew we had this little gem here in our backyard? all the pizza is good but i highly recommend the godfather. their insalata mista is also refreshingly satisfying and their pull apart bread is simply delicious. dare to be drawn in.

good pizza in edmonton sure is a hard thing to find. the only place that pops into my mind is tony’s pizza palace (sorry not sorry famosa, lovepizza, insert any other crappy chain restaurant). well, my italian bud l was craving pizza so he suggested we try out ragazzi bistro italiano‎. originally beginning as pizza boys, they changed their name to the italian equivalent of boys and the rest is history. family run and off the beaten track, it sounded like we would be in good hands for our wednesday evening dinner.

this is my all time favourite pizzaplacein edmonton! why? first, it's a family-owned restaurant and the owners are always present to personally greet you. every time i come here i always feel like i'm eating at a warm, comfortable, classy family-like setting. second, the owners are involved with preparing and creating the pizzas and dishes. you know a restaurant is serious about making their dishes when the owners are directly involved. lastly, the quality of the food at this place. their pizzas all have a great balance of fresh ingredients and the crusts have a nice crisp crunch to them. other pizza places i've tried either load up on too much cheese, make their pizzas with too much dough with very little toppings, or make their crusts way too chewy. i like my pizzas well-balanced with a nice crisp crust. i usually get the bronx and add bacon, red onions, & 1/3 the spice. this customized bronx is the best pizza i've ever had! other must-try dishes are their antipasto di salsiccia, calamari, and original soprano bread which are to die for!!

we found thisplaceby searching for the nearest restaurant to our new home, looking to get to know the neighbourhood. it's in a strip mall that we had driven past before but never really gave a second glance.  once inside we were surprised how comfortable and homey the atmosphere was.  looks like they've renovated some since these pictures were taken.  there service was prompt and the servers were pleasant.  we ordered an appetizer (mozza balls wrapped in prosciutto in tomato sauce), the godfather pizza, and the carbonara.  we found everything delicious and well done.  i am still thinking about the carbonara the next day and wanting to go back for more.  it was light, well seasoned, and not soaking in sauce.  a lovely little find.  i know we'll be back again soon.

loved it!. we were craving for pasta but good pasta and were having a hard time coming up with ideas when my husband remembered thisplacethat we drive past all the time. we stopped in on a friday night, no reservation, with a baby. they found us a table, gave us great service and the food was delicious! i ordered the penne arrabiata, it wasn't quite spicy enough for me (but nothing ever is!) and my husband ordered the lasagna and he really liked it. the half pint ate so much penne alfredo, we couldn't believe it. everyone was so friendly, dessert was delicious...we will definitely be back!

interesting. i had heard about thisplacefrom the next door neighbor saying that the pizza was really good. i convinced a buddy to check it out. we decided to go on a sat at around 5.30. the decore is very lovely and up to date. our server seated us and handed us menus and then continued to disappear for 10-12 min. theplacewas pretty empty so i know she wasn't serving customers. finally, she returned and we ordered the italian sausage appy and lasagna. the appy came in a tomato thick sause with green .

it was also served with some bread and traditional dipping sauce. if your not into the olive oil, red wine dipping it is a bit of a change for your taste buds but a staple for any traditional eater. the bread chunks looked like they were just thrown on the stove to have some burnt scortch. no butter, no garlic bread just the scortch bread chunks. ??? the waiteress then proceeds to hand us bread in a basket with butter. i think this was supposed to be given to us at the start of the dinner and she forgot. i sense a re ocurring pattern going on here. anyways, the main comes in a plate with decent portions. i take a few spoonfuls and it is is good. one slight concern is tasting a bit too much salt. i am hoping for a bit more of savory flavors that should be there but are gone from making this meal an average to spectacular. i can't say that the kitchen was swamped as an excuse because it wasn't. i didn't even finish the meal. at the end of the day the waitress needs some coaching to what needs to be demonstrated in a great dining establishment. she was barely going through the motions and her lack of detail to attention when theplacewas dead screams immediate intervention. decore 9 out of 10. location 6 out of 10. food quality , taste , and presentation 7 out of 10. as i have stated before it is is really hard to get good itialian cuisine in edmonton. guess the quest continues.
